Hello everyone,

I also am scheduled to start my first IVF/ICSI cycle in April/May- seems like a big month for it considering how many of you are already gathered here!

Mom20, I was very interested to hear that you are trying the natural cycle option. Have you learned anything more about it from your doctors yet? We are still trying to decide between natural and stimulated, and I am so curious about other people's experiences with natural cycle. It is so new that there's not a lot of information out there yet. At my clinic (in Washington DC area) I would only be the second person to do natural cycle- their first patient is pregnant after her second natural cycle. Since our issues are strictly male factor, it would be a great option for us except that it isn't much cheaper than stimulated and they're not sure of the odds of success yet. We can't afford too many tries, so we will probably do the stimulated instead, but I'm still vascillating. I'm so scared of all those hormones!

Anyway, thanks for letting me vent, ladies, and best wishes all around!

hi , hoping4kds,doddo72,Angela and stephanie and welcome

Stephanie- im doing the AF jig for you right now if it hasnt already come i hope you dont feel to nervous i did my first try so i know how you feel so many questions and emotions going on in your head im shure you will be ok just try to stay positive although i know sometimes it may be hard. Good luck with everything.

Angela- i know how you feel about life after IVF but after taking a year out i feel different about things this time if it works it works ive suvive a year without any children but ive had a second try of IVF too think about
and to think that if it doesnt work this time we cant afford to have anymore cycles scares the hell out of me. We were advised by our gyno to take a year out and see if anything happens naturally. It never so ive given up any hope of me concieveing on my own ( we have unexplained infertility) so what then ? Well i dont know but im shure things will work out think i might consider adopting. Have you considered this option?

Donna - good luck you and DH deserve to have a baby together

ceiba and welcome i know what you mean about there not being much info out there i am no further forward yet to knowing anymore about natural cycle well i know a bit more due to the ladies on here but as to sucess stories none yet so if anyone has any through natural cycle im shure we would all be glad to here them good luck

how is everyone else

Hi Everyone

Hi SnowWhite, once you have taken yourself around this board a few times you will be an expert! When I first came on here I couldnt understand what half the things people were talking about, everyone is so helpful and will answer any questions if they can.
Hi mom20 we have talked about adoption as well and think we might consider it if our attempts fail. I saw my doctor yesterday and he talked about donor embryos with us as well. Has anyone used donor embryos?
We had a bit of a set back yesterday and some positive news as well. The set back is we are going to have to wait for another 3 to 6 months for our next cycle now. The good news is I am going to take DHEA for a few months as there has been some sucess with DHEA and premature ovarian failure. It takes a while for it to get into your system so we are going back to the clinic in July for a review and take it from there. So although I wont be going through this now the same time as all of you I will be thinking of you all and will pop in to see how you are all getting on.

Take care of yourselves

Hi mom20 - think your attitude is really inspiring. You're the first person I've heard mention plan B (adoption). I think it's really important to have a plan B even if you haven't even started IVF yet, to give yourself the feeling that if it doesn't work, there are still other options. I've decided on three tries for the moment, I don't know about frozen embryos as I've heard the chances are not so good as with fresh ones but I guess we'll see... I think all the hype with Madonna and Angelina Jolie is very inspiring as at least you would be doing someone a good turn, even if the feeling that it wouldnt be your biological child is painful. Although having said that, those two already have natural kids, so I don't really see what all the fuss was about there. I guess thats celeb world for you though.

Hi to everyone and good luck to all you lot starting in April. I'm not starting til May so have a bit more time to get worked up about it...

Hey all, I’m newbie. TTC well zero - just learning all the acronyms as I go. Going straight from BCP to IVF at the tender age of 37. Married to DH for nearly 3 years but was afraid to try due to spinal cord injury (on top of all my infertility issues). Having twin brothers and twin nephews I'm a little bit concerned about my chances of having a litter of kiddies rather than traditional one at a time which would be quite a challenge. I suppose whatever will be will be, eh?

Anyone else doing acupuncture in conjunction with cycle?

Are we having fun yet?

I started my lupron last Wednesday, on the 7th and just got my af today. This is my first IVF so I have no clue of what happens next. My doc did say to call him on my first day of my period and come in the next day. I was prescribed Bravelle and Repronex. Have any of you had any experience with these.

Hi all,
I am supposed to do my mock and injection class on tues the 27th. And my nurse is mailing my protocol with more accurate dates, when I went Friday she wasnt in and another nurse just handed me the info. I read somewhere in the posts that we learn more here then at thr RE's office! It's true! I wouldn't know half this stuff if it wasnt for you all! And the RE's offices do tend to forget to tell us things, ugh....anyway...

I got a call from a pharmacy company in New Jersey out of the blue today. They told me they have my perscription and wanted some info from me??? I was clueless...needless to say the RE never told me they fax all the IVF meds to a specialty pharmacy that deals with infertility meds, just took me offguard. Luckily my Insurance covered them all and I only have to pay out of pocket the copays ofcourse, which is $215. Its all straight now, but I didnt' realize I would need all these meds and need to order them now, call me stupid . What I do know is that I started BCP today and my first Lupron shot is April 6th..well thats a start..day by day..LOL
These are my meds:
Lupron...RE said he is starting me on low dose
Ovidrel 250mcg.....Trigger shot
Bravelle.....FSH
Menopur....LH and FSH
Estrace 2mg....start evening of ER
Progesterone in Oil 1cc...evening of ER
Zithromax 1gm....Antibiotic night before ER
Childrens asprin....Start April 6th..not sure why, have to look that one up, but I have heard of it taken during IVF

Sorry so long and I work nightshift so I read and post in between sleep and food..haha
Looking forward to chatting more and comparing notes with you all!
April

Can I join this group? I am going to be going through my first round of IVF in April.

Hey, I've just starting taking my birth control pills as of yesterday and had my baseline ultrasound yesterday also. April 3rd is my day to go in and learn about shots.

Previously, I've had trouble with fibroids and cysts and now they say my FSH is high so we'll see what happens.

I've been doing acupuncture for about 6 months and I love it. I will definitely be doing acupuncture next month too.
