Hi Neeve,

I am so sorry that you are going through this, the IVF journey is difficult enough without us having to go through this too.
I am just posting to let you know that the same thing happened to me and that you are not alone!!
I had 3 IUI's all of which I over stimulated and two were cancelled and only one went ahead with a BFN!!
I then went onto IVF because they said that would be better and on my first attempt I overstimulated again and was cancelled!! I was devestated and so I know how you feel but please try to keep fighting and not let it get you down!! I then went through my 2nd cycle on a really low dose and yes once again I overstimulated but they allowed me to carry on and I managed to get to ER, however that is as far as I made it because they collected 26 eggs and so I was unable to have ET because of the risk of OHSS which of course I did get and was in hospital although I did not mind as I had finally managed to get my eggs!!
I have just been through my first attempt at a FET and am now in my 2ww!!
I felt like you did and thought that the drugs would just never work and that it would keep going wrong but if you can just hold on and try to keep yourself positive then I am sure it will work! It just takes us some time to get the hang of this IVF stuff!! This I know is easier said than done but I really believe that you will get there, just keep your chin up and keep fighting on!
I hope this has made you see that you are not alone and that you can get through this!!

Hi Neeve,
I can imagine how frustrated you must be. I also had very high estrogen levels before my transfer and they were concerned about overstimulation. My doctor first lowered my Follistem from 150 to 75, that didn't work. He then took me off of Follistem and let me "coast" for two days. My estrogen levels dropped naturally with the coasting. My transfer was delayed by a few days, but we were still able to complete the cycle. Also, I was told to cut back carbohydrates (bread, pasta, rice) significantly as it raises insulin levels which affects estrogen levels. That seemed to help as well. Hang in there and good luck!

I had OHSS with my first round of IVF. The second go around they put me on Glucophage (I do not have diabetes or PCOS). It worked wonders. My estrogen levels still got high but increased at a more controlled rate and I had no hyperstim with that cycle or the next. I got a baby from the second cycle! Discuss with your RE if you could try Glucophage. Good luck and hang in there!
