Totally happy & utterly miserable

Post by amanda »

Hello, My name is Amanda and I have dipped in and out of this website over the last 12 months. My tale started 4 years ago when we first found we could not have children naturally. After 9 attempts (yes you heard correct) and 2 miscarriages I am finally pregnant for the 3rd time. Am so happy I could burst, but at the same time every day is a nightmare. I cant sleep for worrying, I dread going to the loo in case I see blood and am utterly terrified that when I go for my scan on 18th Dec, there will be no heartbeat (its happened before).

I was told my hcg level was 1,700 (day 14 if embryo transfer is counted at day 1).

Any advise?

From a desperate person.

Please don't panic I know that it's easy said than done, but you really need to chill stress is not good for the baby.
My HCG was 852 and turned our to be a twin pg, but we lost one of the twins at 6 weeks, but luckley we are still holding onto the other one now 13 1/2 weeks on, i take every day as it comes, and as each day pass's i count my blessings.
I was told the higher the HCG the better.
I have lost 3 pgs before so I do tend to get a bit, well I can not do anything to prevent this, if it goes it goes, even thow it hurts like hell and my heart breaks everytime.

Us on this site have struggled more than most to get a V+ pg so just take it easy chill and get plenty of rest drink lots of water. And RELAX.......remember your PMA still applies.
Hope this helps.
Love
Wibbs
xx

Hi Amanda, firstly CONGRATULATIONS - when did you do your test?

I'm going through exactly the same nightmare as you at the moment - after 5 years of trying, I have just found out that I am pregnant for the 3rd time as well (1 ectopic, 1 m/c, 1 failed IVF). My first scan is on 11th December and it seems like years away, I'm also not sleeping very well and keep going to the loo what seems like every 10 minutes just to check and every single twinge I wonder if its another ectopic.

Sounds like your HCG level was good though. I havn't even had a blood test (my hospital don't do them).

I keep trying to tell myself to stop worrying about something I can't do anything about (it helps sometimes!!) and I am trying to keep myself as busy as I can.

Keep us posted

Love

Dolly
Hi girls, thank you for your words of encouragement. As you all say gotta stay calm and relaxed. Traci - in answer to your question, apparently I am 4 weeks pregnant. Scan is 18th December so should be 7 weeks by then.

Have any of you got any symptoms? I have'nt got any..... Dont whether I genuinely feel sick in the morning or am imagining it!

Oh and why do we have to drink lots of water?

Thanks again.

Feeling a little better now

Amanda

Hi Amanda

Congratulations to you. 9 attempts, wow!

You really must try to be calm for all your sakes which I know is easier said than done. I worry a lot and it isn't doing me any good.

I didn't have any symptoms apart from bad sickness where I had to be hospitalised for 2.5 weeks. My boobs don't hurt at all and are still weeny, I don't need the toilet every 10 mins and I don't really feel PG so we are all different. Waiting for that first scan is a nightmare but your HCG levels are so high it's good. I didn't have a blood test for that as my clinic don't do them. I nearly went mad in the 2nd 2WW.

Wibbs, I didn't realise you had lost 3 before. Things are looking really positive now for you which I am so happy for you.

Dolly, good luck for your scan on the 11th. Keep us informed.

Be positive and we look forward to hearing how your scan went soon. Take care love Dagny xx 11wks 5d pg

Hi Amanda, I have been feeling a little sick at times and I alsokeep wondering if I am imagining it! My boobs were very sore - but that seems to have eased off now and I feel very tired in the afternoons. But other than that feel pretty much normal.

I think I am going to go nuts long before 11th!

Dolly
