EC & ET dates

Post by Sammie »

I've been told I've got 12 follicles, 6 reasonable, 3 okay-ish, & the remaining 3 are small. Was hoping to last another day, but hormone levels are such that my EC is TOMORROW (weds) and ET will be Friday or Saturday. Very nervous now as we got this far in January and had 6 follicles, but NONE of them made to ET. Am trying to stay positive, but it's hard when you've had failure.
Am taking the 2WW off work this time-going to get a certificate from te Dr's. No one knows at work apart from my boss, so I am frantically trying to get everything organised!!
It would be great to hear from anyone, especially if there is anyone on the 2WW with me!!
Sammie

Hi Sammie,

Just wanted to wish you luck with ET tomorrow. I'm sure everything will work out OK for you. Try to keep positive, I know it's easier said than done but I'm sure it must have some effect. I'm currently on day 5 of the 2WW of my 2nd ICSI treatment. The first one failed in July and I was really negative during the 2WW so this time round I have decided to try and be optimistic instead. I have given names to my embies and talk to them every day (mad I know but it makes me feel better!)

Anyway just wanted to say hello, please keep in touch and let us know how you get on

Lots of Love

Julie xx

Hi,

i am on day 6 of my 2ww from my first ICSI cycle. Remember that you only need 1 good egg to fertilise and make it to ET. If you have 6 then hopefully a few more will fertilise for you. I found ET uncomfortable, but i was just trying to relax and thinking to myself that the consultant does this every day and if i relaxed i could feel it being slightly less uncomfortable.
I am veering between wild optimism and then negativity at the moment. It just a question of counting the days till test, rather than days till xmas for me.
Good luck for tomorrow.

helen

Im about to have ec on Friday and et on Monday. So I know the feeling. it's a nasty time, there's nothing anyone can say. Wild enthusiasm then negativity sounds very familiar. Im sure I will be going through that next week. Goodl good luck . Relax and be kind to yourself. Pray, and light a candle. Ill be thinking of you

Sam1

What a shock, I came round from the GA and I was informed that they "hoovered" out 18!! Bit of a shock when I was only expecting 12!! Apparantly there were six follicles that had "double yokes"!! Feel very sore, did not feel like this last time, but am back at work today and hopefully ET will be Friday 5th (tomorrow). Got to make the dreaded call @4pm today to see how they are all progressing. Will keep you updated - thanks for all your thoughts/good wishes.
Sammie

The clinic just phoned - overnight we have at least nine "takers" (could be more by this afternoon)!!!! So we have 2 to go back and 7 to freeze!! Oh my, I feel scared!! I was planning on giving up after this attempt (this is our 3'rd IVF). Must stop waffling and get on with my work as I am taking the 2ww off and this is my last day.
Good luck to everyone else cycling/2ww, etc, etc.
Sammie
