Hi ladies

I dont get on this site very often these days but just saw your news Kat and had to wish you heaps of baby dust. I will be keeping everything crossed for you! wonderful that you have some frosties too :D

On my successful cycle I did carry on as normal although I didnt swim, but def walked etc. I did read that light exercise is good as it ups your circulation, but to be honest I had had enough of 2ww's sitting on the sofa doing nothing by then. Did your DH come to ET in the end? Its a standing joke with us that Rob didnt come to ET for Alex and Evie(the only time he didnt, it was my 7th ET), and I was made pregnant by a big Nigerian man!!

Once again, good luck and very positive thoughts!

Lots of love,
Sue xx

A quick message for Kat, great news about your embies - I will be keeping everything crossed for the remainder of your 2 ww! They sound really good quality little ones, with so many cells. I am so pleased that you are having another chance, especially as you were one of the girls on this thread when I first joined a year ago. It will be so lovely when you get your BFP and can join the ranks of us fortunate ones that have had successes this last year. Thinking of you and stay away from the aerobics for a while!!xx

Tammy, have now had time to look at photobuck and Andrew - bless him, is so yummy. He looks very cute with his little round cheeks. Hope you are managing okay.

Yasmina, hope you are getting a bit more sleep - you get used to not much more than a 3 - 4 hour stretch at any one time. We keep trying to fill Wills up before bed to see if he will go for maybe 6 or 7 hours (as my friend's baby did at 6 weeks oldl) but alas, he still wakes up after a maximum of 4 hours, wanting feeding. By breastfeeding is taking it's toll on my poor nipples - yikes! They have been cracked, and even bled the other day. I expressed for a day or so to give them a chance to heal but Wills does like to chomp on them for all he is worth. Small price to pay for such a treasure - I will keep going for as long as I can bear it.

Hi to everyone else in our over 40's group.

Bev

Hope you (and others on this thread) dont mind, but I must recommend Lansinoh for cracked and bleeding nipples, it really is the best product on the market and I tried them all before I found this one. I used it everyday together with their breast pads and it worked a treat enabling me to BF solely for 6 months and then mixed feeding with formula til 12 months.

I would also recommend the Gina Ford, Contented Baby book, it is certainly worth reading. Although the book is controversial with as many for her ideas as against, I used the bits that suited me and it really worked out well us.

I am an avid reader of this thread and am regularly in tears of joy and dispair as I travel through your journeys with you all.

Good luck you all at whatever point you are in the dream to become parents.

Hi Ladies, hope everyone OK today

Kat, I have absolutely everything crossed for you. Hang in there. Hoping the 2ww flys by and you are soon celebrating your bfp!! xx

Wanda and Julie, my heart goes out to you. Take care of yourselves. x

Wanda, we took a second attempt with donor eggs before we got our bfp. It was a different donor the second time, but from the same clinic. We transferred 2 embies on the first try and 3 on the second. No-one could explain why the first 2 didn't implant. I am 43 and due to a very poor response to any medication during our IVF tmt we decided to go for donor eggs. Wishing you loads of luck.

Geckogirl, good luck with this next cycle. You sound very positive...keep up the PMA!!!

Wisconsingal, thinking of you. Sorry I can't help with your question. Hoping all goes well at the next scan, any chance you could request one earlier?

Bev, good to see your news. The nipples sound sore ...ouch! Keep us posted on Wills. I love reading your updates.

Hi to Sonia, Tammy and Yasmina, good to see your news.

As for me, I am now counting down the days. Have finished work and am busy preparing the Nursery and getting lots of jobs done around the house and garden. We had a check up on Tuesday and all is fine. Bloods, bp and urine all OK. The baby has turned and we were told that s/he is 2 fifths engaged. Watch this space!

Take care all, keep that PMA, dreams DO come true
Hugs

Hi all

Sue – lovely to hear from you my old buddy – you made me laugh with the big Nigerian ! I think of you often.
DH didn’t come to ET in the end and it was absolutely fine :D

Bev – lovely to hear from you too and glad to see Wills is doing fine
Carolyn – I’ll remember your advice for when I have my baby :D

Anna – can’t believe how close you are now ! You must be so excited, can’t wait to find out if you are having a boy or girl

Now – my question of the day is re headaches – the last few days I have had a little niggly headache that comes and goes but the last couple of nights I have woken up at 4am with a stinking headache which has them gone back to the niggly one by 6 when I get up. Do you think it’s the progesterone ? The timing ties in with when I started sticking the little beauties up my backside !
I know it could be anything but it is beginning to annoy me now. I never had this before when on the progesterone and I’ve been on it a good few times. Same brand too.
I am drinking plenty of water and although am now drinking absolutely no caffeine, I didn’t have that much before so I am sure it can’t be that a whole week later can it ?
Any other thoughts ?

Thanks to everyone for all your good wishes during this lovely 2ww and hello to everyone else reading this thread.

This first week has gone quickly, it’s next week when I start analysing every little twinge and talking to myself in my head. Repeat after me -"doesn’t mean anything, doesn’t mean anything….."

Hi girls,

I had quite a scare yesterday: Eloise threw up big amount of milk constantly - it is scary since the milk comes out mouth and nose in the same time that prevents her from breathing! She could not hold anything down from afternoon until 3 am this morning! We were doing feeding-vomiting-cleaning-changing-feeding … cycles for hours, finally, we could feed her just 1/2 oz of formula that put her to sleep from 3~6 am in between DH and I, which is the only way for us to get any sleep at all sometimes. I cried uncontrollablely while watching her struggling - DH was calm and did not agree to go emergency room. We did not even go to her pediatrician today as she magically became normal again - eats 2~4 oz and sleeps 3~4 hours between each feeding.

Bev, thanks for your update, my nipples are sore too! Eloise bits sometimes - OUCH! My DH laughs and says "wait until she has teeth" - EVIL! I pump twice a day so that my DH can feed her once in the night and grandma can feed once in the afternoon when we are at work - yes, I go back to work every afternoon for 2~3 hours since this Monday. BTW, Eloise does not seem to mind drinking from bottles, our lactation consultant recommended us to use Playtex’s natural latch nipples which give slow flow rate and don't cause nipple confusions.

Caroline thanks for your recommendations. I used regular nursing pads to prevent leaks but they don't comfort my nipples and they fall out or fold easily. I use Ameda's comfortGel Pads now and will go get the Lansinoh whenever I find where I can get it.

Gekogirl, hope your new cycle in April works better. I can not believe your clinic lost few of your embryos and I hope they know even with a free cycle, it won't be enough to correct their mistakes! Having said that, I think they will pay much more attention to you in the coming cycle because you are not just a number anymore!

Winsconsin, hope your 2 wks passes faster, I am sorry things are not going as smooth as they should be. I would call and see if they could scan you sooner than two weeks - one week should be enough to see the progress already! It IS too hard to wait for two weeks!

Kat, good luck and I believe that you will have a BFP this time - I am holding champagne here!

Anna, Champagne is waiting for you and your baby too!

Hi all

Sarah - lovely to hear from you, another of my old cycle buddies. I had forgotten the Percy pigs thing - perhaps I should get some this weekend :D Seems a very long time ago now and I'm still at it...

I am doing fine, just a bit bloated really. Headache has eased off which is good. Maybe it was caffeine withdrawal after all.
One week since ET and not tearing my hair out yet. I've never been an early tester, I think it is because until I test I can say to myself that I am pregnant, after a test I usually haven't been (apart from last time) and believe me, I have done a lot of tests over the years!

Speak later, got to work

Good morning Ladies:

I'm feeling so much better today. I had a little more sleep last night, as the little guy only woke up twice for feedings. Andrew had his 2 week pediatrician appt. on Tuesday and he had gained all of the weight back that he had lost in the hospital and then some. His birth weight was 8 lb 7 oz. He was 7 lb 14 oz when we left the hospital and weighed in at a whopping 8 lb 12 oz on Tuesday. I was very pleased!!

Yasmina: Wow, it is good to hear that Eloise is doing find now. I would have panicked. I have been exclusively breast feeding Andrew and it has been wearing me out!! He is currently going through a "growth spurt", according to my "baby manual". He wants to feed every hour or so. He has done this for 2 days. Supposedly, this should last for 4-5 days. Did Eloise go through this "growth spurt"? Wow, how lucky you are that Eloise sleeps 3 - 4 hours between feedings! I can't wait for this. Andrew sometimes sleeps 3 + hours, but not regularly. You are braver than I am regarding taking your baby out in public. My pediatrician is very strict and says to keep him away from groups of people for the first 8 weeks! This is due to babies immature immune system. She said that any virus or infection that he would contract during this timeframe would land him in the hospital. I was planning to wait until Andrew is 4 weeks old to introduce the bottle, due to the "nipple confusion". I have been pumping and freezing my milk in anticipation. It will be great when DH and I can have a date. We were spoiled, as we used to always go out at least once a week for dinner together. I miss our alone time. You can buy Lansinoh breast creme in any value store such as Target, Walmart, etc. It will be with the baby supplies.

Bev: Thanks for your kind comments on my Andrew. I love him to pieces!! Is Wills taking the bottle (breast milk) in addition to breast feeding? I am ready for this!! The Lansinoh cream does help.

Kat: How are you doing? You must be very excited. I keep hoping that a BFP is in your very near future!

Anna: I can't wait to hear if you have a boy or girl! I bet you are ready to give birth. I was so ready the last few weeks of my pregnancy. Do you know if you are going to have a vaginal delivery or C-Section?

WisconsinGal: I fingers are crossed for you. Good luck at your next scan.
I remember that after I got my BFP, I was so paranoid about miscarriage that I would give myself a HPT every week to make sure that the plus sign became darker. Each time it did and that was reassuring. I saved the old ones for comparison.

Geckogirl: Good luck with your upcoming April cycle.

Hello to Wanda, Sonia, BJ, Julia, Catharine, Diane and Lisa (I miss hearing from you) and anyone else that I may have missed.

I need to get some work done, as the little guy will be wanting his mid morning snack soon.

I posted 2 more shots of Andrew on Photobucket, if you are interested.

Regards,
Tammy

Guys - I'm sorry to butt in (I always seem to butt in this thread!!).
Just wanted to say hi to Anna! I can't believe you are so close!!!! I couldn't find you over on the pregnant thread (well, not without reading everything!) and I knew you'd be over here! Just wanted to say I'm thinking of you and best of luck! I'm waiting with baited breath!
Things good with me - Charlie is now 5 months (OMG!) and fantastic! Still an erratic sleeper (some nights 8pm-6am and some nights wakes EVERY 2 hours) but loving every minute. I go back to work for 3 days a week next week (BOO!) but he'll spend one whole day with dp and 2 at nursery with other babies so I'm sure he'll have great fun!
Hi to everyone else that knows me (i sound like I'm on the blooming radio!!)

Tammy,

I saw your lovely Andrew's Pics and he looks so awake now. Thanks for the info about where to get the nipple cream and this tells you how much I know about raising a baby! Funny, if I need to keep my baby away from a group of people, I can’t stay home – I am having a house full of people, every meal, we have 8 adults altogether – DH’s family invasion and I am left out of all the topics because I am too lazy to learn French unless they try to play with Eloise. Anyway, they take Eloise to get sun bath almost every afternoon and I did consult her Pediatrician about “early public exposures” and she said it is good for her to make Vit D. No, Eloise has no detectable growth spurt, but she grows like asparagus – her dad’s words, she has gained 2 cm and weight 8.9 lbs at 2wks’ check (her 21 days).

Hi everyone, I'm typing this in a state of shock as despite everyone warning me to keep away from the HPT's and to wait for the blood test, you all know what I did...well today's blood test at the hosptial has shown a BFP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will post a new thread about the dangers of the HPT as I really put myself through it over the last couple of days and could have easily resorted to drink,,,chocolate etc etc, but something kept me hoping.

The nurse gave me the results today over the phone, but has said that they need to send the blood away for a quantitative pregnancy test- can anybody tell me what this means please?
I know we get the results of this tomorrow, but we're not sure whether we can be happy now or not?
I'll post this message on all of my threads as am desperate for an answer to this-

That is wonderful news Bridget Jones! You must be thrilled :D

I think that they will check your beta numbers - high numbers are good -anything less than 50 is not so good. Your clinic should tell you what your numbers mean with regards to the stage of your pg. GOOD LUCK !

Good luck to you as well Wanda :D
