CKL - I went to Wake Forest. Yes he tried different protocols. The 1st time it was Lupron and Gonal-F and the 2nd time it was Ganirellix and Gonal-F. Even though we are paying out of pocket, money is not the issue. We just want to go to the best clinic that will give us a better response, if that's possible. I even contacted Cornell in New York, but I'd get to the top of their waiting list in late 2007. We wanted to finish this one way or another before I turn 42. Yes, Dr. Teaff will be my Dr. I don't need them to hold my hand, but I need for them to be accurate & up on my case.

Welcome Jane!

It's good to see you here. The more, the merrier.

REACH is a good place overall. I would definitely say it's worth persuing their opinion.

I wish you much success.

Keep the faith.

Hugs,

Hey Ladies!

Well One more day! God I keep thinking.. Am I ready for this again? The last time was sooo emotional!

Ashley so great to hear your #'s are up that is wonderful! Will you be at the clinic tomorrow? I hope ER goes great!

Welcome Mary! Glad you are here! We can use all the support we can get! I wish you the best of luck! I agree with CKL they are really only there to do a specfic function and they are very busy. I always feel like a number there. But I know that they are a great clinic.

CKL: It is good to feel "normal" I know that it is hard not to look at every symptom. Go and buy yourself some cute shoes! No clothes because in a few months you wont be able to get your big baby belly in them!

Love to all your soon to be pin cushion

Hey girlies!!!
Okay.....I called REACH early Sat. morning before I left for VA, and my IVF nurse told me I could come in SAT. morning instead of Sunday! ...(That wasy I didn't have to drive through the night!) ...Thanks God I went in! They started me on the Ganirelix...and somehow...I grew more follies! I had 17 that were between 10-12. I go in tomorrow morning (Monday) ...then off to court to battle my X-Husband in a less than pleasant confrontation..
I was told that my ER will be Wed at the earliest ... and Sat. at the latest.
Anyway ... do any of you know what the signs of OHSS are? I swear I am looking 4 mos. pregnant.
CKL .....AWESOME #'s!!!!!!!! I am soooooo happy for you. And from my moutyh to God's ears .... may this be it for you!
Sara ......Are you 100% positive that you didn't have the pox as an infant? ...I've heard that I had them at 3 months old......but there were so few of them that it was a hard one to call. Maybe you have seriously had them and no one ever knew. ??? ...I know, I know ....it's a stretch...but definitely possible!!!
XOXO

Welcome Mary!! I hope you find success at REACH. It is one of the best in NC. I didn't have any eggs fertilize on my first IVF/ICSI...and they switched my protocol and I had 14 eggs and 11 fertilize. It was night and day. I seem to be a hard case myself and we have made progress that past 2 times...so hopefully they can work miracles for you!
Let us know how the consult goes...

Sonya - I will be there at 7:45am for b/w and 8am for u/s! Hopefully we can meet up. I will be carrying an orange binder folder - so you can recognize me! Let me know if you'll be there at the same time!

Courtney
- congrats on the extra follicles! that's great!
I was there Sat morning as well. I heard a lady talking about going somewhere for St patty's day---were you wearing a harley jacket with long blonde hair? I'm sure it's a long shot...but this lady said she was leaving to go out of town and starting her ganerelix that night....

hello to everyone else - hope all is well!

I am definitely feeling like a pin cushion now. My stomach has lots of bruises now. I hope my little follies are appreciating and soaking up all the meds!

Darn I missed both Ashley and Courtney!!

I sat at the clinic for an hour this morning! They were kind of slow! It was Dr. Teaff she is so nice and gentle!

Well I start shots tonight. It looks like right now I have 13 follies. 2 at 10mm and the rest under 8.

Court: I dont know the signs of OHSS but keep in mind you are bloated with all those eggs in there! How did the EX battle go?

Ashley: How was your appt?
Love to All

AEJ ---- Yeppers.....Harley Jacket and blonde hair. ...Plus, I had my two little girls with me. It was a quickie ultrasound on my way to VA. ......Wish I had paid more attention....I would have at least said "hello"!! ...When is your estimated retrieval?? Teaff told me this morning that I will probly go on Thursday or Fri! ...I really honestly love that woman! I have finally found a doctor that my DH adores. She doesn't fancy around the tulips at all....Give it to me like it is!
Went back to the clinic today. I guess it's nearing ER time! The follies were between 12 and 18. ..I'm a little concerned because Teaff counted 15 this morning ... and Whitesides had counted 17 2 days earlier. I guess it's a "rough estimate". I'm as emotional as all get out ...... crying at absolutely EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Luv to u all

CKL:
I am sorry you are feeling down. Plus I know that your DH is out of town. You need some shopping therapy! Take one pair of high heels and call me in the morning!

Court ~ I saw you this morning! Your DH was there too. I had on a long cream trench coat. I recognized you from the other day. I was sitting in the room waiting for to get b/w done when you and your 2 daughters were there! Don't know if you remember me, but I'll say hello next time!
Wow! you have a lot of follies! way to go! I go in tomorrow morning again - probably last time b/c retrieval is on Thursday....are you going tomorrow as well?

Sonya ~ I missed you too...I forgot my orange binder anyway! Like I told Court, I had on a long cream trench coat...
You have a lot of follies to not even have started your meds yet! Wow! You are going to have a ton girl! I wish my body were that responsive!

CKL ~ hang in there sweetie. I was fine the 1st week of the 2WW and then I couldn't stand it the 2nd week. I let them "symptoms" get the best of me. Try to keep busy - if possible - and it will be here before you know it! I hope you are tempted by hpt... :P !

Saralee~ any more info on the vaccine? I hope they are working it out for you...

I had my scan today and it looks good (of course, not as good as you girls!). I have 10 mature follies and we are doing the ER Thursday. I go in the morning just to make sure. So, we are hoping for some good blasts to freeze!

Thanks Saralee - actually my name is Mary.

AEJ - Wow - 0 to 11! What a change. It gives me hope that maybe this last time will be different for me.

Courtney - Good-luck to you!

Ckl - Sorry you're on the emotional rollercoaster. I know it's tough. It's hard when you cry at anything and everything. I don't miss the meds at all!!! Are you able to go on a walk or anything like that? Just getting outdoors may help you.

Sonya - I have a friend that shops whenever she stresses. (Yes, she's very fashionable and always has clothes to wear). I don't like to shop unless I go on vacation. It seems like a cruel joke that we can't exercise during an IVF cycle (at least strenuous exercise). Exercise always helps me unwind & not being able to exercise stresses me out that much more. An occasional spa visit always helps too!

Our appointment with Dr. Mezzer is Wednesday. If we meet with Dr. Teaft on April 20th, I wonder how soon we could start after that. I'm leaving to meet my girlfriends in Las Vegas on the 20th as well. We're going there for 4 nights. I really need a mini-vacation after the IVF in Nov and the 2nd one in Feb. It should be fun and I'm sure we'll have plenty of laughs. Good-luck with everyone out there!

CKL .... I can only imagine how you are feeling right now. Wish I could say "blast 30 minutes on the StairMaster, then take a long hot jacuzzi tub while savoring a glass of merlot," ... but I wouldn't be a very decent support system.. :( Keeping busy usually helps me! For the past year, a new room gets painted during the 2ww ... then I found out that "that" wasn't necessarily a good thing either!! ...I'll whisper a prayer for you during this time, ... hang in there sweetie!

Saralee .... I heard on the radio this morning, that they are giving free pox vaccines at the Columbia Zoo this weekend. I'm NOT kidding!!!! I thought of you!! Have you checked with pediatricians about this issue? I would think that they could tell you where to go/what to do as well. Also ... I don't know if you're interested.... but you can also go to the health department, and they will do it for you there as well (or so I'm told)

Ashley .... I am so glad that I bumped into you this morning. What a beautiful woman. The two of us together ... at the EXACT same point in this crazy cycle .... could be a real teary event!

Okay girls ..... My retrieval is pretty much set for Friday. I went in this morning, andI have roughly 20 follicles .... but several of them are very small. They range anywhere from 11-20mm. I'm starting to get somewhat anxious. I feel as though I should be feeling "more" than what I am. I', taking the Ganirelix.... but I can't help but feel as though I've ovulated ...OR... have lost a bunch of those follicles. I am so afraid to do ANY kind of BD'ing whatsoever....for fear that they will pop!!!

***** Have any of you ever collected a sample through the "withdraw" method??? I know that text book says "not to" but so many have, and have had little bundles. Just wanted your opinions.

Good luck to all of you!
XOXO

Courtney thanks for reminding me that I can't drink!!!! haha just kidding. I am starting to feel a bit better about all of this. I asked my nurse about the cramping and did some research online (i am totally obsessive!) and this seems to be quite normal. i guess that it could go either way and at this point there is nothing i can do about it! Courteny I was totally the same way when my ER was coming up...i swear that if i could have wrapped myself in bubble wrap I would have. All you can do is rest and wear loose pants! Good luck on Friday I will be thinking of you....have fun with the drugs...they made me loopy! Ashley is yours on Friday as well?

How is everyone else doing?

Okay girls ... I am dying. ...totally devestated.
I began stimming a week ago today. I went for my u/s this morning, and Dr. Crain said that things looked great and my ER would be on Friday. THEN .... I got the dreaded phone call. My blood work had come back. Yesterday, my E2 was 679 ... this morning, however, it had dropped to 594. My orders are now for me wants me to introduce 100cc's of "low dose hcg" tonight .... (I haven't been taking this as of yet), and he said that "HOPEFULLY" it will go back up. If it doesn't, we may have to cancel the whole cycle. I am devestated!! Have any of you ever heard of this happening before?
Being that I've been pregnant before, I didn't think that I would have any problems with this whole darn 'estradiol' thing.
I am so scared.
Do you think that this low dose hcg will help bring it back up?????
Any infor and support/encouragement is greatly appreciated.
Thank You
Courtney
