Being a complete ass doesn't make you popular you around here. Please just leave and go back to your AOL chat boards. You are the first legitimate jerk I have seen here since I joined. Congratulations.

Wow, guys. This is SOOOO not worth it. Everyone here is entitled to their own feelings, and also entitled to their opinions about a topic someone someone posts on the board. I have never seen on this board such vicious, snarky, sarcastic and personal attacks as i have read in the last two pages. Wow.

I am not taking sides in the discussion... none of you actually know what my opinion is on this most recent topic (i.e., selective reduction), and nothing would be served by sharing it here. You guys are never going to convince each other of your positions, so why keep trying?

I am "seconding" heidi here... please just let this die.

btw: heidi-- congrats on your bfp. I read you are concerned about bf twins... especially since you would like to do so for a long period of time. I don't know about 21 months... but my sil just stopped bf her twins at 10 months... it is do-able. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Thank you, Sassynlv, for the well wishes and the info on bf twins. Yes, 21 months is a long time - I only planned on 12 months but it just worked so well, until enough was enough! If I could bf twins for 10 -12 months I'd be ecstatic. Congrats to your sil - that's awesome!!

I won't know if it's twins until my U/S in a week or two so I guess I'm thinking ahead of myself - the blood work and my RE just tend to lean that way, but you never know! I'll have to get tips and info on it if that time comes, until now I'm just praying for a healthy baby/babies.

Thanks again

....From my original comment...... I feel the need to explain.
I have four children of my own already (ages 9-15) AND an 11 yr old step son. THEY ALL LIVE WITH ME!!!!! DH and I desperately want one together. Going from 5 to 6 is already going to be a transition .... but 7 children just seems a bit overwhelming for us. ...Of course ... should I be blessed with twins, and you ask me this same question a year from now...I'm sure my reply would be totally different.

Twins is a big fear for me. It would bring a host of other issues (time, money, ability to work, etc.) that I do not think I could cope with.
My sister has also suffered with infertility. She has been through IVF and had a son and it was VERY taxing on her body. We already decided if we were lucky enough to get twins, she is going to adopt one. I would carry a child for her and this expands our family in a way where I get the gift of being a mother and give the gift to my sister who cannot survive another pregnancy.
People have mentioned it is wrong for me to do such, but it is the answer I have come up with.
