Blood pool in Uterus...!?

Post by positive_thinking »

I'm really hoping someone has a bit of insight about this. The internet has way too much info, and most of it scares the crap out of me!
I am 7 weeks preg and I have been bleeding for a couple weeks now. Mostly just spotting. My doc says everything is fine and just to take it easy. But 2 days ago I was at work and I got up from my chair and blood poured out of me. It wasn't a small amount either, my clothes were soaked and the carpet was covered
The next day I went for an ultrasound, and I was completely shocked to see the little baby still hanging on, heartbeat and all! But right next to it in the uterus is accumulationg blood. So now I'm afraid to leave the house because it was plenty embarrassing having this happen at work, I can't imagine being in public.
I'm reading so many horror stories and I'm wondering if someone has any experience, or knowledge on this. My doctor is being very vague about it.

I have definitely heard that some ladies carry a blood clot in the uterus sometimes all the way through pregnancy and it comes out with the placenta at the end. Maybe this is what it is.

I do hope you are ok and I understand you must be worried.

One thing that really scares me is, my doctor said that when my uterus "empties" there's a 50/50 chance it might take everything with it, baby and all. I'm so glad people at work are sympathetic and know what I'm going through because i just got back to work a bit over a week ago from 3 weeks medical leave, now I'm taking another week. *must*not*look*up*symptoms*on*the*internet*INTERNET EVIL!*
(except for this site of course :P )
