First IVF and BFP

Post by Katy91 »

I just had my second beta today and it's 551, so fingers crossed it's all happening. It was my first IVF too, so I feel really blessed to have got this far, come what may.
I have gotten so much info from this site, thank you everyone for all your advice and information.
The one thing I have looked for more than anything was 2ww symptoms. So I kept a record to share. Bear in mind, I don't know what was just progesterone, and what were actual symptoms, but the later things went, the more I felt like, "this couldn't just be the progesterone".

Transferred three day-three embies on 3/8

3/11-Now - Began to feel very flushed, and my cheeks started to look rosier than usual. It's what I imagine menopause must feel like. Night sweats started in earnest and have not abated.

3/15- 3-19 Started to feel dizzy a lot, and not when I was doing anything that would normally cause it.

3/15-Now - Started to feel extremely tired all the time. Just wanted to go home and go to sleep immediately. Getting up in the morning has been agony - I feel completely hungover, without any of the fun of drinking.

I have had feelings of slight cramping all along, but not like AF was on the way. First I was just sore from all the procedures, but after a while I felt just full, heavy, and with that little twinges along my sides and in my lower abdomen. Nothing insanely painful, but sometimes I would stretch and have a sharp twinge and think, hmm that's new.

The most recent side effect has been a small, dull ache at the very bottom of my tailbone.

The other thing I was desperate for info on was "dos and don'ts during two week wait". I stuck to all the guidelines about caffeine, baths, sex, etc. But I did not take it particularly easy. I have a busy life and I didn't just lie around, because I would have gone nuts just worrying if I did that. In my humble opinion, in terms of activity that isn't directly advised against, you should let your body tell you when to slow down, and it definitely will do that! Everybody has their own pace.

Sticky baby dust to everyone!!!!
