Hey Fellow Ladies in Waiting!

I had my blood test today. Of course, I'm one of those impatient ones who POAS. I did it 11dpt in the morning and got a negative. Not holding out much hope, but I guess you never know...

Hi Light
Maybe a little early for POAS to be accurate?
When do you get your BT results?

Just got back my pg test results. Negative. I think my partner and I are going to try donor eggs. This is my second IVF try and we've been trying almost every month for a year. Any donor egg stories out there?

My transfer went ahead today.
Although there were tears when the nurse told me that both embies had survived the thaw. I really wasn't expecting that. One was frozen at 4 cells and is now 3, the other was frozen at 2 cells and was still 2 cells at time of transfer this morning. The scientist seemed very happy with the 2 cell embie. Apparently, the 3 cell was still good to transfer, as long as 50% of cells survive the thaw all is fine.

I'm so sorry Light and Sam. I should have read your posts before I posted my news
Sam, have you had beta? I know so many ladies who have POAS with a neg result only to have a positive beta. I also know many ladies who have bled all the way through their pg. Will you still go and have it done?
Take care both of you :(

Post by nellyA »

Hi Guys,

Hope it's ok to gatecrash your thread? I have had my first FET transfer on Tuesday 20th which like you Birdy went really well. This is my first cycle as I was a freeze all due to OHSS.

The 2 embryos were graded 9 and 10 and were 4 cells, day two. I think I did something wrong though since I got home, which may affect the result..I used a heated pad ( an electric blanket type) and I have read everywhere since, that this is a no, no. So very concerned that I have ruined my chances.

Anyway hope it's ok to gtecrash your thread and see how you are all doing.

I have been given the 2nd April as my test date.... does nyone know whether it's true that wee frozen embryos are a bit sleepy and therefore slower to implant? I'm trying to work ut when implantation day should be?

Take care all

Hi Nelly
Not sure on whether it's because they're sleepy or not (but I like that idea!) but I do know a lot of ladies who've had late implanters with FETs.
I wouldn't worry too much about the heat pad.
Good luck!!

I think the implantation date window is between 6DPO and 10DPO. DPO = (days past ovulation - even if you haven't ovulated, just they way they do their calcs)
With Day2 embies, they count the day they do the transfer as 3DPO.
Hope that helps :?

Hi Birdy,

Thanks so much for you reply...it was very kind of you to re-assure me about the heated pad. And thanks for the advice on DPO and implantation.

Hoping you don't mind my gate crashing but I found the thread really useful. When's your test date?

hi ladies. I'm curious, how old are your FET's? I have a son from a fresh IVF cycle who will be 4 in June. We had 5 frozen embryos remaining from that cycle and transferred 2 in January, unsuccessfully. I have my next FET to use the rest of the viable embryos (5 day blasts) on 4/13. My doctor says there is no real "shelf life" on the embryos, but I wonder if the failure has anything to do with the fact that they are 4.5 years old?

Good luck to you all, this is such a stressful time. I can say though that even though it was unsuccessful, physically, the FET was much easier.

Hi ladies
How are you all????
I have my beta today but am not holding about a lot of hope. I POAS this morning and got a BFN (AF was due Monday). I figure the pessaries are delaying AF.
I'll post my results tonight.
Hope everyone is well.

Birdy - wishing you all the best!!!
I have recently joined here and am grateful for this support network...
Is anyone dealing with cold/seasonal allergies ...i am suffering from both and have only used Vicks vaoporub for fear of causing any harm. I had 2 blast transfer on 3/29 and am scheduled for testing 2/9.

Hi Charlie and Dolly
Thanks for the well wishes - unfortunately it's another BFN for me. On to Egg Donor now. I have a young 'lady in waiting'.
I'm in Australia Dolly, I hope those allergies clear up!
