the waiting game

Hi, this is my first internet chat and my first round of IVF after 4 years of trying and 3 go's of IUI, and this is my one only go of IVF on the NHS.
Had my ET on Saturday which went well. Was very nervous as I was under stimulated for most of the cycle but eventually managed to produce 6 eggs, 5 of which fertilised, 2 of them to a grade 3 and a half out of 4 (4 being the top at my clinic). Don't think any of the others will be froozen though.

I'd love to hear from anybody else out there currently having IVF and playing the waiting game. Still got the whole of today plus another 9 long scary days to live through. Up one minute, down the next. Feeling as I am sure you all are too rather alone. Trying to do all the right things and feeling alsorts of strange action in my tummy which I am trying not to read into. Ahh hope so much that this works!!!

hiya this is also my first ivf and also i had my egg transfer on saturday transfered two embies 1 eight cell i four cell 1 was grade 2 1 was grade 1to2 1 being the best and 5 the worst in my clinic .i too am trying to not look into things too much feeling sick in the morning but dont know if this is in my mind ,not doing much then when i do wondering if im doing to much its terrible praying for bfp for both of us.xxxtesting 29th what about you?

so good to hear from you chvonne. You are the first person I have spooken too since I started down this long lonely road of infertility that actually knows how I feel. Really glad I found this site and took the plunge in writing a posting.

Decided I am going to have a better day today. Keep telling myself that my body knows how to breathe, think, grow etc so why should this be any different. And if it doesn't work this time I am determind not to give up, we can have another try...

Sometimes I get so angry that its been such a fight but I know if/when it happens I will appreciate it so much more.

I think feeling sick in the morning is a good sign. I am not really feeling that but I think sometimes i can taste the hormones. My stomach has felt weird ever since they did the transfere keep feeling like mild period pains which I can't make up my mind is a good thing or not. I usually start spotting a good week before my period so I worry thats going to happen again.

They told me not to test till Sat 31st, did you get told you should test earlier or is it that you just can't stand the suspense?

hiya yes im feeling EXACTLY the same like yourself telling myself if it dosnt work we,ll have another go but this is so emotionally and phsically draning but it,ll all be worth it in the end when we both get ourpositives.the only reason im testing 29th is going to clinic for blood test otherwise id have to wit till the 31st like you if we done a home one.we decided two more days of this would be too much and opted for the blood test. this feels like the longest two weeks of my life i decided im going to have a better day today too stay positive telling myself worrying about it isnt going to make it pass any quicker trying to occupy myself with things.these forums are sooo great you get lots of support and everyone understands you,ve come to the right place xxx

Hi there, how you all doing today? I actually woke up in a really good mood and I'm feeling quite smilely despite the fact the progesterone has brought me out in some really yukky spots. (I look a bit like MRS Miiggins from Blackadder)!!!

My DH still managed to kiss me before leaving for work, which I was impressed with concidering I think I look like i've got some medieval disease.

Only one week left until we are put out of our misery....oh that just made my stomach flip over.

We are planning to have a really lovely weekend and pamper ourselves, we have decided we are going to have big cooked breakfast in bed then go into town and watch a film followed by dinner out.

I don't know about you lot but I think it so important to have other things to look forward to beyond the IVF. Especially things to do with our lovely hubby's.

I think it's a bit like having the biggest exam of my life, and I can not see past it. An exam on which my life depends but one for which you can't revise. Any questions could come up and the answers are anyones guess. The pass result is not great but the prize at the end is all I've ever wanted!

hiya quita how u getting on this really is a rollercoaster ups then downs had a really bad day yesterday ,but had a better day today only four days to go now till test testing 29th im soooo nervous . got so many symptons but hard to say if its progesterone giving me these or not im too worried to get overly excited but cant help but feel happy when i feel nauseaous how you coping????

Hi Chvonne,

Same as you. Friday night so stressed out didn't fall asleep untill 3.30am and then was wide awake at 6.00am.

Then Saturday I was great, went out and had areally nice day with hubby and fell asleep on his lap in front of Dancing On Ice at 8.00pm. Got myself to bed and slept till 8.30am.

Then yesterday I was cool one minute, yes its worked, no reason to think it hasn't. Everything is wonderful!

And panicing the next, what makes you think its worked, it never has before, and all this panicing is probably making you lose them!!!!

Isn't it horrible - what are we doing to ourselves?

For me, my biggest worry is that Ill start spotting, which is what I always do from about a week to two weeks before my period. So every time I go to the loo I am paranoid. It hasn't happened this time, yet. Don't want to say that out loud in case I jinx it. It's such a good sign. Just hope worrying about it can't bring it on. Coz you know what its like you just can't turn your brain off.

Bought a preg test yesterday that can be used up to four days before. Think I might use it on thurs the same as you when its suppose to be 93% accurate. What do you think?

PS still haven't felt nauseaous but my boobs are bit bigger and more buised feeling than usual.

hi only three days to go now im glad the waitings going to be over but then im not as it might be bad news and at least ive still got the hope at the moment.im not going to advise you not to do the hpt as i would probably do the same if i wasnt testing that day .but what i will say is dont take a negative result as a negative because lots of women on here have done the home tests ON THE DAY OF their blood tests and its been a negative.then theve had positves with their blood work imagine how low youll feel after that like me hold on to the hope aslong as possible.so if you want to be sure then maybe you should wait but i know this is easier said then done.im still feeling sick i too have sore boobs but i always get this a week before my period anyway so cant read into that my feeling sick is giving me a twinkle of hope but i also know this could be the progesterone it effects everyone differentley.i think the fact that you havnt had any spotting yet and you usually do is really a positive sign try stay positive take care xxxx

Miserable to say when I went to the loo just now I was spotting, Just a little brown blood, but this is how my period always starts.

oh u poor hun u must be worried but dont i had this to the day my period was due only a little and it was brown nurse sais this was normal and only to worry if its bright red the next day it stopped and havnt had any since .and this is also how my period starts to but a day or so before .from what i read on here women can be pregnant and still spot ive known women who have actually had a period and still been pregnant. i know how you must be feeling though as i felt sooo down when i had my spotting.is this around the time your period would have been due?dont worry it,ll all be fine im sure still remain positive THIS SPOTTING IS NORMAL

Not really sure when my period is due my last one was in the middle of the down regs on Feb 16th I remember coz it was my mums birthday so that was 40 days ago just checked. Normally I bleed for one and a half to two weeks of every 26 days. So I have gone a really long time with out spotting.

I do hope your right. My belly does feel a bit period painy every now and again but I think that can be normal too can't it?

Anyway how are you feeling? Still bit sick feeling?

yes the period type pains are also normal.i think your spotting will stop.yes still feeling nauseas everynow and then especially in the morning but as i said dont want to get too excited in case its the progesterone .getting a bit of heartburn hear and there and this is really knew to e as i dont suffer with that normally are all these things in my head?ive definitley got bad low backache like af is coming fingers crossed it wont xxx

Haven't spotted again for the rest of the day...but thats normal for me on the count down to a normal period. First day one spot next day two and so on until it gets heavy a couple of days before the full on cramps start and the blood turns bright red.

What isn't normal is the amount of period type tightening feelings I'm getting so soon after the initial spotting so may be this is all something else all together.

Hope so with all my heart and soul.

Your symptoms sound great, really promising!!!! Do you wanna swap? LOL

Wouldn't it be amazing if we both got BFP's on the same day!

I get the feeling you are not English am I right? I am from Sussex at the bottom of England. It been beautifully sunny here today.

I've read the exchance between the two of you and it really shows how important this board is to someone going through the IVF thriller.
