Please can you help... I am on my second day of my 2ww...and am panicijng that I have made a mistake by using a heated pad on my tummy. My acupuncturist told me to keep my tummy wrm by putting a heated pad on my tummy to keep it warm which I did until I read that I SHOULD NOT USE ANYTHING HOT ON MY TUMMY. I'm terrified now that I have ruined my wee embryos. Has anybody any advice This is my first IVF from a freeze all.
I know panicking isn't helping either......oh no.
I really would appreciate f someone out there could help.
The biggest problem with the do's and don'ts of the 2ww is that every doctor gives different instructions. I've heard from this board alone...
Use heat, don't use heat
Bed rest, no bed rest
Sex, no sex
Exercise as normal, light exercise, no exercise
You can lift, do not lift
The only thing that I think everyone agrees on is not to bounce (jogging) so your ovaries do not get twisted (if you've had a fresh IVF cycle). Personally - I avoided everything so that I couldn't blame myself for anything if it didn't work. I didn't even do laundry for a week. But I did go back to my desk job the day after transfer.
So my advice is to call your doctor (RE, not acupuncturist). Good luck and lots of baby dust your way!

I wasn't told not to use a heat pad on my tummy by anyone at the clinic, I only read on here that you should avoid it after ET. Please don't be frightened, I am sure that just using it once wouldn't have hurt your embies. My acupuncturist also told me to keep that area warm but what I did instead was wear a vest underneath my top and always had it tucked into my trousers, or I tied a sweater around my middle. In the evenings I sat on the sofa with a small blanket wrapped around my waist, just to keep that pelvic area warm, I also always wore a coat which covered that area, rather than short jackets. You might want to try that, it all seemed to work for me!
Please try not to worry. I am sure everything will be fine.
Good luck

My infertility doc specifically said that moist heat can help with bloating and hyperstimulation symptoms and that was during my 2ww. So, take that for what it's worth. I find the heating pad a bit relieving but I'm careful to not leave it on for more than 10 or 15 minutes.
