Well 2 shots and I already have a bruise. My tummy hurts and I feel bloated! :( I am so tired all the time, this part of it sucks. The crying spells are killing me. Someone can say you are beautiful and I cry! Now I have a crying headache...LOL I can't win...

I am taking 300IU Follistim in PM and Menopur 2 vials to 1cc water in AM. I continue this until Monday when I go back to see the Doc!

Hope everyone else is having better luck than me today!

Stephanie, I saw your myspace and loved it. What a beautiful wedding and family. Did I see a pic of you in the Egypt museum? We were there a few years back and it looked like the king tut part. All I have on the internet is Chloe's babysites.com. It's a great site for when we get our BFPs :D

I'm also having a down day and haven't even started shots yet! Maybe it's PMS with AF due this week-end. I remember the tummy bruising well. OUCH! Are you also on baby aspirin. That doesn't help with the brusing!! Sending you the follie fairie to get those follies growing

hi ladies, sounds like we're all have a crappy day - I'm in bed with a stomach bug - had the worst night last night clinging to the toilet!! can't believe that I've given up the wine, stopped all the bad things, eating healthy and for the first time in years I'm sick!! Starrt my injections tomorrow so I hope it won't affect things. my husband wanted me to call the hospital and let them know i was ill but there is no way I'm letting them delay the cycle!!

hopefully tomorrow will be a better day for all of us

take care, Rebecca

I'm back... for some reason, I haven't been getting updates on my email. Anyway, I have been working extra hours this week, putting money back in the bank for the cycle. I'm estimating that AF will probably arrive in about 10-11 days and I'll be stimming in about 15 days. I'm getting very anxious to get started! One of my friends asked me what was I gonna do if it didn't work this time or if I had another m/c, cause I had a hard time last time with the m/c. I said that I guess I would just deal with it. This will be my last go at IVF and I feel that if I don't try at least one more time, I'll always wonder if I should have went one more go. (I can't afford anymore after this). If I have another m/c, I know it just wasn't meant to be and go on with my life.

rebeccaj - sorry you got the bug, no fun. Good luck with starting your injections tomorrow. At least you're now getting to finally start the process. That's always exciting.

smattison - hang in there. The bruising is no fun but it'll be worth it!!!

carrie - sorry, no experience with egg sharing. maybe post a thread to get some advice. I'm a poor responder like daly so I'm grateful to get a couple of fertilized eggs in a cycle.

Jovigal, great attitude!!!

We cant afford anymore after this, and have the same attitude, what will be will be, we have given it a try and thats all we can do, and how long do u keep ttc for anyway?? till your bits shrival up with old age?? Ive already got grey hairs, so if the hair follicle is failing to produce colour does that mean the follicles are failing too???

Nicki - I like your metaphor/theory about the hair follicle. Too bad we can't just cover it up with hair color and fix the problem! :D How many more days until you start stimming?

Daly-I was at the Museum of Natural History in NY City, which had an Egyptian exhibit there. My DH loves anything to do with mummies…LOL It was last July and DH proposed to me there on our anniversary. I am not taking baby aspirin and I do not bruise very easy. I only got 1 or 2 bruises last time and so far today I have 4! This sucks! AF will be there soon for you and you will be on your way…GOOD LUCK!

Rebecca-I agree do not tell them. I think I have a sinus infection and there is no way I am telling them and having them cancel my cycle. I hope you get to feeling better!!!

Jovigal-You can’t think about the what ifs you just have to focus on the NOW…you are going to have a BFN and a new baby 1st of next year!!!

nicolamark-last time I did take Lupron and I have not taken it this time and it has been better. I will only feel like physical real crap for about 12 day vs. 5 weeks. Emotional crap is another story.

As for me…brother and sister in law are closing on their house today and I will have my house back. Them being here as been good and bad. I have really felt like crap and I have been forced to act like I am OK. I don’t want to complain with them here…I bet hubby has been glad…LOL I am already so bloated and sore. I hope that means follies are growing!!! Wow it seems like all I do these days is *****! I really need to stop. Maybe I can go to sleep…wake up take shot and go back to sleep until April 2nd.

Good evening ladies!

Carrie - I have no experience of egg share so I can't help. Maybe you should post on the general forum - you may get a better response there.

Doddo - sending you an AF jiggy dance Image

Steph - hi sweet has the stimming got any better? I'm sorry the injections are sucking for you! Just think of it as egg food and it is going to help your eggies grow nice and strong! I'm glad you have your house back to yourself - it is just not the same having to share - even if they are family! And don't worry about coming here to ***** - it's definately the place for it!

Daly - sending you an AF jiggy dance and wishing you a cyst free scan and then bring on the egg food! Image

Rebecca - sorry you have been unwell, Good luck with injections tomorrow!

Jovigal - won't be long now! Sending you an AF jiggy your way Image .

Nicolamark - hey hon - how you doing?

As for me - I had my scan and blood work today and go for FET on Tuesday at 12 o'clock so long as they make the big defrost! Not feeling very optimistic about it all! and then the dreaded 2ww - definately the worst part of it all!

Anyway... sorry if I have missed anyone

Big Hugs

Hey ladies.

Steph - congrats on getting your house back. We are letting my best friend stay in our guest room while she looks for another job. It is a mix. The support is great, but it can feel crowded. BTW, feeling bloated is usually a sign of good folliece growth! So, congrats on your response even though it feels like @#%**@ :D

Charlie - Image Cheering your little frosties on. I'm also feeling very down. But, I have several friends who had neg fresh cycles and went on to get pregnant on their frostie cycle. Don't lose hope. Be extra nice to yourself and lots of love to your embies that will soon be snuggling in.

Jovigal - This will definatley be your BFP. Sending you loads of baby dust and a AF jig. Image

Nicki - I have always had a much harder time emotionally with down-regging and felt better with stimms. With the hormones dropping during downregs it can make you feel almost menopausal. I hope your stimms will pick up your mood (hoping mine will do the same for me  ). Like you said, getting through AF should help anyway. Speaking of grey hair. Poor dh has so much more grey over the past few years. I think it's the stress. When do you start stimms?

Rebecca - so sorry about the stomach flu gettting you. I had a really high fever and was very sick with the flu during the first week of stims for my last cycle and RE thought it didn't make a difference and I got a BFP. So, dont' lose hope and take good care of yourself. (I guess no Papa Haydn's this week )

Big hellos to anyone I missed.

Here's what I feel like. Image Bad headache on one side and feeling like my head is going to explode. Ofcourse I don't want to take anything for fear of causing soemthing bad for upcoming stims. I was told no antihistamines or ibuprofen and Tylenol is about as effective as throwing salt over my shoulder. So, ice packs it is. Maybe it's a pre-AF head ache, but I think it's allergies from all the dust of this remodel. Well, I am late for work and clearly poorly motivated. Will get my sorry self in the car and head out. Sorry to sound so whiny.

On a brighter note, Happy Friday and Baby dust to all. Spring is the perfect time for BFPs Image

Hello, Protocol Changed, I have some questions!

Post by doddo72 »

I am on my first ivf cycle. My AF is supposed to start any time now (I started spotting today), and I was supposed to start Birth control pills, then two weeks into that, Lupron, and so on.

The Nurse called me today and said the dr changed my protocol. They said I didn't respond too much with the chlomid test. She said they want me to skip the bc pills, and on day 3 of my period, they are going to give me a fsh shot and start me on lupron(mild dose) and follistim (for about 8 days) then the Trigger shot, three days later ER, then three days later ET.

Have any of you been on this type of cycle? The nurse said they are going to give me higher doses of hormone shots...so things are moved up by about a month. I am SOOOOO nervous!! and excited....

Is this a typical protocol? If all goes well, my ET would be by April 12th. Instead of the Middle of May. If it worked and say I had the ET on the 12th, when would my due date be? I am just trying to get some calculations.....and of course praying for all of us to have BFP's!!!!!

Thanks,

Donna  :D

Donna, I am soooo excited for you! I will be on essentially the same protocol except I will have antagon instead of Lupron. I'm waiting for AF to start around Sun/Mon. Congrats on spotting!! You are off to the races. This is a great protocol for "poor responders" and there are studies showing better response to Follistim/stim meds without doing a downreg or BCP prior to cycle. This is my first cycle wihout BCP and I'm hoping for a better response. Sounds like you have a great doc to pick up on your response to the clomid challenge test and tailor your cycle accordingly. We will have very similar due dates right after Christmas I think...I need to sit and calculate this as well. Keeping my fingers crossed for a perfect cyst free US. Good luck!! BFP and a holiday baby are in your future.
