Thought we could make a post to give us a boost when things seem a bit hard....
My hubby has no sperm - but i am grateful for:
-Technology and the chance to try a donor
-A husband that loves me and is still prepared to have a family
-A supportive family who remind me they will love our children no matter how we achieve them.
-To have good job that means we can afford to go down this track of assisted help
-To have found amazing woman through this website to support me on my journey and to know that i am not alone.
Its not our ideal way of having a family, but i know its going to be our ideal family.

Good Idea Polly
That is a great way to deal with all of this stuff we have to endure going through the process. So glad that we have the technology to try to get pg the unconventional way!!!!! Thanks for the positive boost.

Do you know Polly when you first posted this I couldn't look at it, let alone contribute to it? I think my reasoning was 'how can anyone be grateful in this situation?'
However, as things normally do when they sit with me, I am coming around to see this point of view. No we are not grateful to be put through the pain of infertility, particularly male factor infertility, but there are things that can make life better.
So here is my list, and I'm sorry it's taken me this long to get what you were doing...
1. I am grateful to have a strong husband who was able to overcome his own emotion of being infertile and allow me to pursue my dreams.
2. I am grateful for my best friend who listens to me talk about my life and is able to give me insights full of wisdom and caring
3. I am grateful that I have a family that accept that I have to go through with this, even though it doesn't agree with their belief system.
4. I am grateful that I have a husband who allowed me to be honest about the situation rather than keeping secrets
5. I am grateful that I am in a profession that gives me time and just enough money to pursue my dream of having a child.
6. I am grateful for having a dog, a cat and a bird that love us unconditionally and fill our lives with joy.
7. I am grateful that I have a geniune friend who is happy to donate his sperm to us so that we can pursue our dream of having a family.
8. I am grateful that my life is so flexible that I can funnel money to IVF rather than to a mortgage.
9. I am grateful that I have many hobbies such as sewing tapestries, reading and watching science fiction, reading in general, surfing the net, writing in my diary and on-line, drawing, meditation and our Top 100 movie project so that I am not continually thinking about infertility issues.
10. I am grateful to know that if this does not work I believe my relationship will continue, albeit in a different way to what I expected.
There - I feel heaps better - thanks Polly!!
