nerms - yuk back at work eh - I so know what you mean when walking around you think that they being juggled inside ! Hope yr day goes quickly before you're home again this evening.

Sonya i'm home at all day too !! Glad to hear that you're feeling better - the EC is such an invasive procedure I'm not surprised we hurt afterwards. When is your transfer planned?? Have you heard yet how many have fert yet?? fingers crossed that they all got on well at the party

Jill - any news from yours yet too??

Stephanie thats great news about brought forward - april fools day though - hope noone plays a joke on you!!

Mama - I've copied this from zita west (who is a fertility expert here in the UK)

Day 1 - the first cell division or cleavege take place 33-36 hrs after insemination. these are then checked to see if fertilisation has occurred. (and yr case you have 17)

Day 2 - this stage the embryo usually consists of between 2-4 cells. The second cell division takes place 45-46 hrs after insemintion.

Day 3 - the third cell division takes place about 54-56 hrs after insemination. By this stage the embryo has 6-8 cells. The individual cells that make up an embryo are know as blastomeres

Day 4 - Compaction (when cells start to merge together) occurs and the embryo is known as a morula

Day 5 - The embryo now has many cells and develops a fluid-filled cavity. Now it is a blastocyst.

Clinics also do grading so eggs can be graded from 1-4 (majority of cases 1 being even cell division, an appropriate number of cells for the culture time and no fragmentation)

So judging by your numbers it looks like you have some very good eggs there.

Anie - good luck with your scan and b/w in the morning.

Quita - this is a quiet congratulations - a line is a line!! Well done !!

Miss Piggy - how are you - coping with the 2ww.

Back later

Ok - remember I am blonde and I'm going to ask the most sillest question ever on here (oh a TMI Warning coming up so don't read on if you don't want to know details  )

With all the drugs I've been pretty much blocked up, if you know what I mean and last night things started to move a bit. However, as this was the first for days it wasnt particularly easy and needed some 'pushing' to help it on its way.

I know that this is completely silly and all my DH did was laugh - (and you all know where I'm going with this.....) is if you push too much, you can't push your little olde embies out could you??

Sorry I know its a dumb question but I just had to ask to put mind at rest - I don't dare phone the clinic - way to embrassed!!!!

Did say it was a TMI one

Nimbs: no word yet on my lil ones. I had the same issue on my last ec. I took a stool softener this time to help things along. I asked about pushing them out last time. She said keep in mind these are cells you are not going to push them out. however straining or push to hard is not good so that is why I did the stool softener!

Nimms and Sonya...fab conversation!

Actually i had to push pretty hard too, someone told me that it might be the pomm juice i've been drinking, didn't think about the meds!

I should imagine though Nimms that they are bouncing around looking for a place to settle!

Hey ladies,
The clinic called and only 6 of the 9 made it through the night and fertilized. We are a little disappointed because last time they all fertilized. Sigh. Now I wont hear anything more from the clinic until Saturday as to how many are growing. We are hoping to do a 5 day transfer.
I am a little sad and tired...But trying to stay positive.
XOXO

Stantala - oh thanks for the reassurance - my mom and dad have just been round and told them too - poor dad didn't know where to look  however so glad to think that I'm not the only one that worries about these sort of things

Nerms - oh you could be right I've been drinking pom juice too - however now slipped some more softening agent into my water
