Forgive the following, I may be overreacting and being ridiculous but would appreciate any stories or reassurance.
I had ET today - its my 3rd frozen cycle (1 previous fresh), had two 2day embryos transferred.
Previously all my transfers have thankfully been very straighforward. Today they had trouble inserting the catheter. The doctor seemed to have trouble visualising the cervix (she was moving the speculum around a lot) though my bladder was full. She tried to insert the catheter but it wouldn't go in. She tried a bit of prodding then took it out. Told me there was a "narrowing" then tried again with an empty catheter which went in no probs. She then did the real thing.
I started worrying about how this may effect the outcome. I know that difficult transfers do impact on success rates but how difficult is difficult?
I'm sorry if I sound like I'm just catastrophising, maybe its the hormones.
has anyone here had not completey smooth transfers and still got a BFP? I would be grateful for any replies, again, sorry if I'm being a bit of a dunce.
Just to let you know, I had the same issues during my ET. They actually had to replace the embryo in the petrie dish and than reload. I only had on 2-day old embryo make it to the ET and I was really worried before the issue with the cath. However, it worked and our little one decided to stick despite the chances were only about 20%. I will pray your little ones snuggle down for a long visit!
Hi, i just had to reply to this.
During my 2nd FET my Dr had problems with the catheter also, she eventually got it in but the embryo's got stuck in it. She took it out and went away (no idea what they done then) but she came back and i finally got my embies inside me.
All this certainly had no impact on our outcome. Our gorgeous little girl is now 10 months old.
I ended up having a c-section after 12hrs of labour because she didn't want to come out. So we now joke that she didn't want to go in at first and then didn't want to come out, lol.
Try not to worry about it and good luck.
Take care,
Lotsa love
Michelle
