BWHD - Is this your 5th IVF? My neighbor had 9 IVFs and then went to a new RE and got pregnant with twins!!! We have to believe. I'm having doubts creep up on me this time which is odd, because I was so positive before. Trying to get full PMA going and I keep running out of steem. To relax myself, I've had to say "consider this a practise round with the new RE". Easy to say now, not easy to say after I see the bill  I tried to check out your myspace, but it is closed. It's so fun to see cyber buddies pic's. Where did you come up with your log on name?

Karia - Great PMA!! I'd like to see us both get twins. My RE said "We're getting you twins, and we'll be done with this!" Sounds really good with his accent. He was so supportive. I'm hoping seeing him today picks up my mood. We're both on lucky IVF #3. I was going to pay for the "package" of 2more cycles. The finances are so difficult. I look enviously on people who get their babies for "free". Meanwhile, we can't afford drapes for our windows (much to the neighbors dismay) !! A baby is worth so much more than drapes....but I wouldn't mind a bit more privacy!

Nicki - I had that alot with the little post injection drip. No worries. You're doing great.

I'm off to the RE for US and bw. Hoping it's full steem ahead :D

Hi Daly, Myspace is closed? That's really weird. I did not know that. I will check it out. My id comes from a dog that I had that passed away a couple years ago. He was a Samoyed. I am a big dog lover. He was the biggest whitest happiest dog you ever saw. thus... the name... I actually did 3 cycles several years ago with another clinic, and then gave up. Just last October we decided to make another go of it, so we changed clinics, and here we are. Try to stay positive. Believe me, I know how hard it is. IVF is full of many emotions!

Good evening ladies!

Steph - congrats! I'm glad everything is going so well and maybe moving up a day for EC - How exciting!!

BWHD - Welcome to the group - wishing you all the best for this cycle! Sorry about your knee (I'm a dec/jan buddie aswell)- are you in much pain?

Nicki - don't worry about the little drop! Other ladies told me to leave the needle in for a few seconds after and if you were pinching the skin to let it go first and leave the needle in

Daly - how did the us and bw go?

Donna - sorry you have been having a stressful time - as if we aren't already worried enough! I can't really help withthe estrogen levels thing - I hope they clear things up for you and I'm glad you have a plan B with the BCP's. LOL.

Jesjes - congrats! You are a follie machine! One step closer to your BFP!

I'm doing ok at the moment - I wasn't very well yesterday had sickness and diarrohea (spelling?) Now I'm worried that I have picked something up and that will affect my results! If it doesn't work this time we are fortunate enough to be able to afford one more go in the summer (I say afford it - I mean we have enough left on the credit cards to max them out!) Fingers crossed that we won't need to!

Sorry if I have missed anyone! Hugs to all

hello everyone,

Haven't written for a couple of days as I have been on a downer but the sun is shining today in Portland and it's helping the mood so I thought I would write and send baby dust and sticky-stuff to everyone.

The downwer started after the hospital called me with my oestrogen results on Tuesday afternoon - they were only 57!!! on day 5 of stimmulation! I so upset about it and can't believe how poorly I'm responding to the drugs. I had the same in my first cycle and so this time they started me on a much higher dose. I'm only 105 pounds so i thought it would knock me for six. I'm so scared that I'm going down the same path as last time.

Daly, I remember you saying you were a slow responder, can I ask you what your levels were like?

Donna, seems like we have the opposite problem, shame we can't trade oestrogen a little. I hope that your levels sort themselves out and you can start soon.

Nicolamark, glad youve started and the injections are going OK! how are you feeling?

Jessica, Stephanie - congrats on getting such good results at this stage, that's great news, as Daly says, please urgently send over the name of your follie fairies as I'm a girl in need!

Charlie - how's it going?? how are you feeling?

a big hi to everyone else!

Hey ladies,

Donna - YEAH YEAH YEAH!!!! We both get to start tonight!!! I start eveything tonight - Lupron, menopur and Follistim. I'll be a pin cushion...But a very happy pin cushion :D

Karia - I had to laugh when I read your post. Our poor wee mites. As my dh jokes, "you can either go to college, or you can exist"!!

Rebecca - Sending you a warm sunny hug from LA. I know all too well how the rain can get to you. It really is the rainy season now. I'm sorry they didn't even take my Estrogen today. I was surprised, but he said he took it last month and will wait until MOday to draw it. I will find out then what the level is. I always needed an extra couple days to grow my follicles, but I can't remember my levels last time. Have they considered giving you the estrogen patch? I've seen a couple other ladies on it for stimming. I'll tell you as soon as I get the results on Monday. That will be day 4 stimming. I'm sending you an Estrogen fairy. Image

Charlie - Oh yes, we have a new definition of what it means to "afford" nowadays as well. Don't worry about the diahrrea. I had it bad my last preganancy and the RE swore up and down it wouldn't affect the pregnancy and it didn't. Just take it easy and stay really hydrated. BFP BFP BFP!!!

BWHD - Love your myspace account. Any pics of you four legged children? BTW, I am a total Christmas music fanatic and was glad to finally find someone else who likes it. I torture my dh who has finally resolved to let me start playing it late Oct  Thank you for the pep talk. I am definately feeling much better. I'm sure I'll get nervous before Mondays scan, but will hope this perk in my mood carries me through the week-end.

Steph and Jess - you are both follie superstars!! share that fairie with the rest of us! Sorry about the teen age drama at your house Steph. I'm amazed you have a 17 yo. You look great and so young and energetic in your pics. What's your secret?

Well, I am feeling hugely relieved. Scan went well (for me). I have between 6-10 expected follies/eggs and my new RE is anticipating a much higher rate. He's a baffled about hte low fert rate last time. Also, after obsessing over studies comparing lupron to antagon in poor responders(yes I am totally OCD) I am switching to Lupron micro dose flare. And switching to menopur instead of post menopausal women pee. I haven't tried either and was ready to try something new after so many poor responses. (only 2 fertilized last time  and that was with ICSI) He was OK with either route and happy to try a new regimen. Here's the final meds:
First stim in one hour!! YEAH :P

Follistim (300 - he swore he doesn't think I'll need more and was surprised about the doses of my prior RE. Keeping fingers crossed he is right.)
Menopur (2 vials)
Lupron (flare)
Asparin
later - valium (a must!!) medrol, (extended until BFP), and the always lovely IM progesteron (OUCH!!)

Officially stimming. ER approximately April 6th and ET 3 days later. Grow follies Grow!!! Image
TTC 4 yr
4 mc
2nd IVF - BFP - dd died 5 wk old in mommy's arms
4th IVF - BFP!! TWINS!!!

Hi everyone,
I haven't been on for a little while now have been so busy and my computer was down but i have been checking in just had no time to write.
Great to see everyone is now moving into the next stages and all sound healthy, excited and positive.
Daly- very excited for you, great to see things going forward for you.
Nicolamark- has been great watching your progress because i started the injections on Thurs and gave myself my first tonight and had the same question about the drip. Thankyou i got the answer.
I am currently doing the nasal spray and injections and sometimes feeling like i dont know what i want, dont know how to do it and feeling that i am emotionally not in control. Is this normal?
I have never suffered from PMS but i feel i have the biggest dose of it.
A friend that has been so supportive did tell me i have become a little bit of a picky B and i can feel it but cant help it. But we have a good laugh about it because she reckons by the end of the cycle she will know the whole me whether i like it or not.
Big wishes that everyones treatment continues to go smoothly.
Good luck.
Me29,DH31
Me: Endo ovary cyst
DH: Vlow sperm count
Hope to be starting 1st ICSI March07

Hi Daly,
How long do you think you will be stimming?
My Nurse said anywhere from 8 days to 12 days. Are you using the Follistim pen>? I used it this morning. Is it supposed to click and the end of it turn when I am pushing down to inject it in me?
I wasn't sure if I did it right the first time. and a tiny bit came out too after I finished!!

I was nervous!!!!
Now I will do better tonight.
How do you all decide on how many embryo's to put back in?
The dr mentioned 2 for me, but that was before they found out I am a poor responder!!!!

This weekend is April!!! Wooooohhhhooooooo!!
Daly, did you figure out when we would be due>?

TTYL!!!!!!!

Hi Girls,

I decided to move on from the March board and join in on the April fun!

I'm currently taking prenatal vitamins, estrace, progesterone suppositories and two others that I can't think of right now. My frozen blast transfter (aka FBT) is scheduled for Tuesday, April 3. I was lucky in the fact that I had success on my first IVF/ICSI cycle and had one good blast remaining.

It would be nice if this works because the frozen transfer is a lot less evasive than a fresh (no shots  ). From what I've read, it seems there is a 30% success rate so fingers crossed it will work for us. I just keep telling myself that all it takes is one good egg.

I wish you all luck this month and look forward to some BFPs!

Take Care,
Sher8
