Acupuncture

Post by FBWife »

Tanu2007,

Hi! My doctor and the acupuncturist I see have done many studies and have found that doing acupuncture twice weekly for 4 weeks leading up to retrieval, then before and after the transfer have drastically improved success rates of not only pregnancy but of a "take home baby". It apparently increases blood flow to the uterine artery, improves the quality of your eggs and generally relaxes you. Here is the acupuncturist website: www.eastwindsacupuncture.com. There are graphs and charts on there that compare the acupuncture vs. non-acupuncture group. I definitely didn't want the added expense of acupuncture, but if it helps, I'm glad to do it. Hope that helps answer your question!

Take Care! :)

Hi Everyone! I also started acupuncture yesterday! I heard that is does help with IVF and helps to relax you. My scupuncturist siad that I was responding well to the treatment..especially the needles on the stomach. Crazy...she also told me she has had clients who have gotten pregnant without IVF...NATURALLY!!! That would be awesome..but not getting my hopes up!

Hrobinson,
Thanks for ure support.
To all buddies,
MY RE sent me e-mail abt turkey. He thinks turkey has some chemical in it which helps infertility patients. My nurse recommended me to have turkey dinner on 4/5 which is one day before my ultrasound scheduled date .My last day for BCP is today i.e 4/1 and i supposed to expect AF 2-3 days later.so the day before ultrasound and bloodwork try to have turkey dinner. Well i am vegeterian so i cannot eat turkey. But i wanted to share with u everybody, if it helps.

Question

Post by FBWife »

Hi ladies,

Hope you all had a great weekend! I got a call from the company who will be supplying all of the meds for my cycle. It was a long list and seemed a little intimidating! My body reacted really poorly when I used the pill, so I am very nervous about how I will react to all these different hormones. Do any of you mind sharing how you have reacted to the meds? Anything that I should be aware of or look out for? Feel free to be brutally honest! :) By the way, I met with a client today who had a bunch of adorable children running around her house. She was talking about how annoying they were and how "anyone nowadays should think long and hard before having children". I wanted to scream! Do these people have any clue what some of us have to go through just to TRY to have children?!!! She was a very nice lady but it just bugged me.....Okay sorry, had to rant really quick about that. Have a great day!

Hi Everybody,

I haven't posted in a while but am still here! I just started by BCPs and am supposed to have my baseline ultrasound on 4/12. Hopefully, I will be ok to start stims by the 20th and retrieval will be the first week of May.

I have a question about BCPs. I had a little spotting on Friday so I started my pills on Saturday as per the nurse's orders. However, my period stopped. All I am getting is some cramps and a little spotting. This is not what a normal period would be for me but the doctors had me on and off bcps last month and I think they messed up my cycle. Will this affect my IVF cycle? I am assuming that I will have a more "normal" period after I go off the pills again on 4/16.

This is my second IVF cycle. I got a BFN in February. I am trying to relax but am pretty nervous about this cycle as it will probably be our last......

Hello ladies;

how is everybody doing ?. Hope everybody is excited about upcoming IVF's . I will start lupron on th coming friday. Hopefully will have EC in the first week of MAY.
Geckogirl , hi, I dont think that your cycle is messed up. U had an IVF in Feb and you were on high stims. And suddenly the ovaries are relieved from those. Ovaries might need some time to understand these things . So may be your periods were suppose to be less this time . BCp's dont do anything to the periods . Infact i read that BCP's help have a normal period in women with ovulation disorders. My periods following the BCP in my last IVF cycle were very heavy . So i guess your next periods will be OK.

hello everyone i am not new on the board i read and reply to some of the threads i dont know i guess i decided this is the right time to right i am going to be starting my 3rd cycle this month and i hope this one really works because i am getting really drainded from doing ivf my first cyle was cancelled my 2nd i got a bfn and they says third time is a charm. i am going threw invitro because after my last child i put clamps on my tubes but my husband doesnt have any kids and he really wants one and i also want another one my second child past away. so i really want another one and not to replace my son that will always be my number one he could never be replaced i really dont know how to explain it but i dont think i could take another bfn or my husband he thought i was in denile when i told him he thought i was lying when going threw ivf its a very stressful and emotinal roll a coaster. and it helps to have women to talk to who are going threw the same thing as you.

Hi Ladies, Mikki here. It is so nice to have somewhere to go to talk about our frustrations. May I join you? Did 3 cycles of clomid and IUI and nothing. AF should get here around April 16th or so and start Gonal F on day 3 until follies are ready then do HCG and IUI. I am so frustrated. I am 42 and my doctor says my FSH and Estrodial are very good numbers he says he does not know why it is not working. Does anyone know the difference between Follistim and Gonal F?

Good Luck to all the ladies
Lots of baby dust for everyone.

Hi everyone I am new here ....originally started with the Dec/Jan thread I was wondering if you minding me coming over here Let me introduce my situation

Hey mom20 nice to see u over here .....

I have had 2 BFNs and are now attempting my 3rd cycle. I had my 2 DDs ages 14 wow she will be 15 in less than 2 weeks and another that is 8 &1/2 after my daughters I could not see myself with my X and bringing any more childern into our relationship so I had my tubes clamped. Well after finally seeing the light and leaving that relationship I found myself with my DH who has 1 DD who is 4 we have been together since she was a baby and we have her with us full time 3 DDs and DH has always wanted to try for a boy... So after being told that thanks to my tubal rupture damage I was not a canadate for reversal we started with IVF. Both our first 2 attempts we transfered 2 blasts each time and both were of so-so quality and both ended with BFNs. Our last BFN was on Jan 25th and AF raised her ugly head on the 29th but we were not approved for anymore cycles then. On Feb 15th we got the best phone call the girl that does the insurance part at our clinic was able to get us approved for 2 more cycles (she is a mircle worker with ins. companies) So on Feb 26th I went for ending appt to discuss what went wrong and what we were to do next well..... She said when AF showed we were set to go again well that witch just FINALLY showed 29 days late with the help of Provera and we just started BCPs this past Sunday. NOW they say that since I have had 2 failed cycles I have to repeat the hysteroscopy..... OH joy but the day that I do that they will give me my schedule. So I am on the pill waiting on Friday the 13th (what a day) to do my test. The more I think about it the more I want to change days lol.

Well hope everyone is well and thanks for reading.

Steph

Hi Everyone,

I haven't posted in a while. I hope everyone is hanging in there. I am having my baseline u/s on Thursday. If all goes well (no cysts) and the bloodwork is good I will start meds next week. After a difficult month -lots of cramps, breakthrough bleeding and totally abnormal AF I am really praying that this cycle won't be cancelled.

Much luck to all of you!!!

I curious about how many days of bed rest everyones doctors recomend. Mine says 2 full days and then take it easy for a couple more. Good Luck to everyone!

Hi,
This will be my first IVF ICSI and I am very excited about it! I have been on lupron since march 26th and I start my stims on april 12th. My probable EC is april 23 and probablr ET is april 25 ( according to my doctor), I went for my ultrasound today and my doctor said that everything looks great. I am also doing accupuncture. So, I want to wish good luck to everyone !!!!
Also, I have a question, my doctor is sending me to cardiologist to ok general anasthesia for the EC, because I am having severe panic attacks, to make sure that everything is OK with my heart, has anyone had problems with anasthesia?
Thank you so much :)
