Glad to hear that everything is working out for you (even though you are feeling a bit sick!)
I'm taking Syneral at the moment and expecting AF in the next few days, then I guess it's onto the injections. EC and DH biopsy is booked for the 13th April.
Hi there
I would love to join this group too! I am a kiwi and live in the south island of NZ! I am into my second week of bureslin injections. We are using donor eggs to avoid a genetic condition in the family.
OPU is in about two and a half weeks or so providing everything goes well with our donor. We can not wait - so excited!
I would love to hear from any kiwis or Aussies!
Oh wow kery
the lovely mrs syneral I so hope thats going we'll for you when i sniffed that I had to have a sweet any sweet lolly just to to dull the backlash down the throat. We'll let us know how ya getting on and all the best for ec and dh biopsy not long now.
hey welcome fijibabie your more than welcome to join this group you will definately find alot of info from all the ladies on this thread. So where abouts in the south Island do u come from

Hey cheeky
Yep don't ya love that taste. One of the ladies said it tasted like nail polish and she wasn't wrong! I have a mint just after which takes that gross taste away. I haven't had many side effects but I now am starting to feel a bit tired (not sure if thats from the syneral or not). Dh heads back to the mines in the morning, poor guy I bet he can't wait to get out of this mad house!
Hi fijibabie!
I moved to Perth last year from NZ. I lived in Whangarei most of my life. I really miss NZ and all my family and friends there. Was it hard to get donor eggs in NZ? Did you have to wait long? This is a great site for support as it is only those who are going through this rollercoaster that can understand what it is like.
hey kery
my sister use to live past whangarei in a small place called towai which is really close to kawakawa. I so loved the kerikeri oranges so sweet.
Thats really good that you haven't had the headache syndrome taking syneral. Anyway hopefully the days will speed up for the next stage of your cycle
take care cheeky

Yea Towai isn't far at all from Whangarei. Yep I miss that sweet Kerikeri orange taste.
Was this your second try at IVF? if you don't mind me asking why did it fail the first time? Gee I don't know if I could go through this another time if it doesn't work. Your sickness feeling will pass, one day you'll wake up feeling heaps better! I haven't told my son about the ivf but he said to me today "something is really wrong with you mum your acting crazy lately!"
hey kery
This was my third attempt first go was cancelled, due to the follies didn't grow big enough. It was the dosage so they upped it from 150 to 300 and it was so upsetting doing the whole nine yards of the cycle only to be cancelled. second got a good amount of eggs but bfn and hola third time lucky. kids are so inquisitive aren't they how old is your son?
we'll take care cheeky

Gee you really deserve that bfp after all that! Do you think you would have kept on trying if it didn't work the 3rd time? What kind of side effects did you get from the injections? Sorry to be so nosey it's just that us 1st timers can learn a lot from women like yourself that have gone down this road a few times.
My son is nearly 10. He is from a previous relationship (his father left me just after he was born). Although my partner has raised him since he was one and has a great bond with him. So if all fails with the ivf at least we do have my son and we realise how lucky we are to have him after all this!
I got pregnant with my son by missing the pill for two days, we went camping and forgot to take it with me! I look back now a laugh at how I got pregnant and what I'm putting my body through now. I never thought in a million years I would be doing ivf, but I guess a lot of girls say that.
hey kery
I would have tried again and again it just goes without saying a baby was my ultimate goal at this point of time. Gosh theres ladies been through it 10+ times. And it is hard each time you go through it but you just perservere and hope for the best. The injections werent to me as bad as the syneral spray. I was told to make sure you aim the needle below the belly button as it doesn't sting as much. Not much muscle there and to do it nice and slow. I never aimed for the same spot twice and most times it didn't hurt. I didn't have much side effects appart from hormonal mood swings haha look out dh. And maybe the odd kilo or two added to the waist line. Anyway will be looking forward to your progress and ask away any question

Wow Jacob is 7months old tommorrow boy is time flying
Take care all JOMAEXXXX
I hope you can join you all in your Aussie and NZ thread. I live near Wellington NZ and I am just about to start my second round of IVF.
Unfortunately my first cycle was cancelled a couple of days before ER because my estergon levels were double what they needed to be for them to let me trigger.
I'm currently waiting for AF then I will start BCP and a couple of weeks later begin my bureslin injections - I'm looking forward to starting again but I’m also concerned about the same thing happening again, they are going to reduce my stimms so I am keeping my fingers crossed.
It is great to see a few other kiwis lurking around here also.
I wish you all the best and look forward to getting to know you all

Hi cheeky
Yea giving myself the injections weren't nearly as bad as I thought they would be. After my first injection I got a huge headache. I had done pretty well up to that point with having little side effects. It has gone this morning so I hope it stays away.
How are you feeling? Is the morning sickness still hanging around?
hey jomae
hopefully the time will speed up for ya and you'll be on the cycling stage again. In the meantime your little fella seems like he's keeping you quite occupied. what a wonderful joy.
Hey kery time ticking away now not long till the next stage. Thats good the injections have been going ok for ya. I have been feeling nausea and sore boobs and so damn tired and lazy I really don't want to see anyone just me and dh lol.
Hey keekee so sorry to hear your news hopefully everything will pan out for ya'
Welcome arizonakiwi it's hard when you have a cancelled cycle I found it really hard on my first go as it meant back to all the same meds again. But best of luck next time round and the ladies here are wonderful.
Any way all the best ladies and take care cheeky

Yea isn't this ivf stuff expensive. We are only just going to afford this round. We didn't realise how expensive it has all turned out to be. Because dh has his own doctor for this too it has added about $2500 onto the bill and is not claimable through medicare and our private health. As far as the neddles go I'm on my own! Dh works off-shore and isn't back till the day before our ER and biopsy. I don't think it would have been his thing with the neddles anway.
I rang this doctor for a total of expenses today. She replied with "we haven't been contacted to proform a biospy on your partner". I was on the other end and started balling! The fertility clinic said they had organised everthing. She also said ' I'm sorry love but his doctor will also be away on holiday at that time". Anyway after a few phone calls first being the one to the fertility clinic to tell them what I thought of them, then I talked to his doctor and managed to sweet talk him into doing the biopsy next week.
Moral of the story - don't mess with a woman on IVF drugs!!
