Good luck with the cycle! I've been thru 2 cycles, and am just waiting for my preg. test on Friday. Just a heads-up....Luperon gave me wild migraines both times I took it. It's actually not the drug itself that causes the h/a's, it's the low estrogen levels. They abated once my body started producing estrogen again (around the 4-5 day after starting the hormone injections). My best advice: try to relax and try to stay busy with postive activities....it's so damn easy to become preoccupied w/ everything you're feeling and anticipating.....

all the best,
Kim

My headaches on Lupron started after the second week of use and to be honest they really weren't that bad. Just a lingering type of ache. I did suffer from OHSS after the eggs were retrieved however I knew that it would all pay off. Just stay positive and busy and remember to rest and relax when you body tell you that you need too. The day before the transfer rent a bunch of good movies or have books on hand. Relax and enjoy the quiet time, your body has done a lot of work in producing all the eggs.

Good luck!!! You'll do terrific!!!

I understand that the headaches are actually a fairly rare side effect.....I suppose I was one of the "lucky" ones. And I am not typically a headache sufferer, so this was probably the worst part of being on the injectables. But outside of that......the only other s/e's I noticed was all about bloating, abdominal distention, and feeling like I'd gained 5 lbs. Which apparently is quite normal (to gain 5-7 lbs. during a cycle). I hope everything goes really smoothly for you, Jodi!

Thanks for the reply.Just wondering, were you bloated the whole time during your stim drugs or just at the end?

Bloating started fairly early for me......but I tend to get a lot of bloating premenstrually, so perhaps that's why.....and I stayed bloated for the entire cycle. I'm in my 2ww right now and that good for nothing husband of mine :) said last night...."gee.....you got a bit of a tummy happening....". So we then had a rather heated conversation about WHY saying something like that to a woman in the middle of THIS craziness and stress is the WRONG thing to say.

And you know....I think that when I was on the hormones, I was feeling very emotionally stable.....I was kinda expecting to be some raging lunatic on these drugs, which I understand can happen.....but I really felt quite good.

In case the needles are painful......try icing the spot you're injecting into for 3-4 minutes before the shot....it makes a TON of difference!

Relax.....get a lot of good sleep, and keep busy with positive things. You're going to be just fine!
