medication worries

Like you I also had a lot of problems with medication. I became very ill in 1988 and spent almost 2 years in hospital. This resulted in a lot of health problems (I won't go into them here). We started fertility treatment in 2000. The first problem we had was through high blood pressure /cholesteral. I was using a 'statin' drug for the cholesteral but after a lot of research by my consultant (contacting manufacturers, and getting advise from other consultants) they said it would be too dangerous to take this drug and be pregnant.
Six month wait until weaned off. Next was my anti epilepsy tablets, another long wait while drugs were changed. Finally we were to start IVF in March but anaethatist wasn't happy for me to have an anaesetic so I had to see a cardiologist. We finally got going in October (bad response, cycle abandoned). Although we've had a lot of problems reaching this stage (due to start again in a week) the consultant and nursing staff have been brilliant. They have always talked things through with us when things have been really hard and have always assured us we will get pregnant.
Try to relax while they sort your medication out, its hard to believe when your having to wait but in the long run its for your own safety and just think what you will have at the end of it.
Me 36 husband 38. Been together for over 16 years.
2000 -2003 Clomid
Sept - Oct 03 IVF abandoned due to poor response.
Dec -Feb 04 IVF early m/c
Sept -Nov 04 IVF ++++

10 July 2005 -Our precious son Joshua James was born.
