Hi All

Well count down for me, period due Sunday so all being well with pre-treatment tests blast off will be Tuesday. Excited and nervous, hoping new clinic with different approach will suit me and I will produce some grade 1 embies that stick around. Carolyn the donor egg scenario is a tricky one, Trew suggested donor eggs to me if next cycle fails unless I produce a good number of eggs, so I have set myself some goals/rules based on his suggestion; if on this go I only produce a few eggs as in past two cycles and get BFN I will move onto donor eggs, if I produce 8+ eggs with good fertilisation rates I will have one more go with my eggs in Sept 2007 if I get another BFN, then move onto donor. My reasons for this is DH and I only have 4 tubes of tads left so I figure two more goes with my eggs then two tubes left for donor eggs cutting it fine but hey thats the IVF game. My clinic is only 30mins drive through Loughton and Buckhurst Hill which is much more scenic than the M25 dash I use to do when going to the Hammersmith.

A nice story to give hope a friend of a friend has just announced she is pregnant naturally at the age of 43 after 3 failed IVF attempts and being told her chances were less than 10%, she was in the process of leaving her current clinic and starting a monitored cycle at ARGC when bam pregnant just goes to show you never know.

Lola - good luck for transfer I will be thinking of you on Thursday, look after those precious embies.

Carolyn - glad to hear you got p****d just what the doctor ordered. Good luck with Trewster hope your GP coughs up the bucks, Stay positive you produce a good number of eggs which I believe to be a good sign, of fertility in terms of eggs and quality. Are you still trying naturally as well, if my memory (which is a bit suss) serves me right after the OP Trewster gave you a window for IVF and natural at same time.

Marg - I like your chilled out attitdue wish I could be more like that. 3 months will fly by. Acupuncture is great, I find it so beneficial as I’m a bit of a stress bunny so it keeps me semi-sane.

Take care all

Just popped in to say hello and to wish Lola the very best of luck for ET tomorrow. Crossing everything and hoping that it goes perfectly for you. Then you just chill out and take good care of your precious cargo.

Vicki - Wow - what a story. That could be me. 3 failed attempts and on route to argc!!!! Yep you are right. The op opened up the tubes but he was unsure how long they would stay open due the damage. So we do try naturally  but I try not to put too much pressure on my dh with days/dates etc because when I was doing that at the end of last year, it did our relationship no good at all. You sound like you have the whole donor thing sussed out in your head. I shall come up with some 'rules' after we see Trewster tomorrow and in light of what he says.

Hugs to everyone else.

Tons of luck for Lola. I shall think of you when I am there tomorrow hun. Will update you after tomorrows two visits.

Night Night

Hey Lola

Thinking of you and hoping that ET has gone really well for you sweetie.

Hope that Christina did the magic needles before & after for you.

My gp took pity on me and agreed to do the tests for me & dh for free. Saved £330 at argc prices. So have forms. dh can go anytime and I need to go on D2. So another thing sorted out.

Trew in a couple of hours. Really mixed up about it. End of a chapter as moving on to the new clinic. Appreciate that he has done a lot for us but no end result. Want answers but not sure that I want to hear what he has to say. ARRGGGGHHH

Hope that you are resting up well.

Take good care. No rushing around. Have the pom poms out ready to start cheering you on over next 2weeks.

Love
Carolyn

Quick stop by as just back from Trewster and on way out with a mate who is here from France and has same issues as all of us.

I thought of you when I was there Lola and wished that you'd never have to sit outside Lavery's office again. Hope that you are resting up well at home sweetie.

Well Trew was a star - a real pro in my book. He ran through the cycle. Good numbers, good fert rate - yet again. He was quite happy that 2 made it to morula (blast better) but given that 2 got that far was even more mystified as to why it will not work for us. No real answers other than the eggs that we have picked so far cannot be the ones - but very rare to have issues with all eggs so there should be some good ones in there. Arggghhhh. We asked about donor and he said that he would be recommending that if we had less eggs or poorer fert rate.

His answer was frozen cycle just to try something new/different.

We then told him that we were considering 1 last fresh somewhere else so that we could feel happy that we had thrown everything at the problem. He was cool. Take my hat off to him. No snipes. No getting rid of us out his office. He said that he could understand given what we had been through. That was the only point that I felt a bit teary/chocked.

Even debated fresh versus frozen next. He said do Fresh next before I get too old! He'll then have us back for frozen (he even joked about that being for a brother or sister - I wish) but was fairly clear that more than 4 Fresh was very low odds (down to less than 5%).

We then talked about donor. They will help with Madrid. 3-6 months wait list but he could get me on the list for their in parallel with last frozen cycle. Odds with donor are 56% for 1st cycle. They will support us with all the scans etc. He said that they were doing 1 per week there & had moved away from IM in Barcelona as they had issues and were not happy with all the pateint care.

So think that we have a plan - Fresh @ argc, Frozen @ Hammersmith, Madrid here we come.................... that amounts to only 3 more cycles so half way through the rollercoaster ride. Hope that chat has got dh more on board for a donor.

Last trip (yeah right) to Hammersmith is on Monday for councelling.

Love and hugs to you all. Can I still be a Hammersmith girl?

Hi ladies

Thanks for your well wishes
carolyn - glad the GP is stepping up, it must feel like the ball is rolling again. How was Trewster adios meeting? Hope he was supportive and didn't prostrate himself, begging you to stay...

Hey Vicki, next tuesday - that came around pretty quick. Are you having the long protocol? I am very impressed with your plan, gives control, empowers (have i been reading too many management books - its the chod devel day that did it)

M - how you, drunk on expensive cocktails somewhere in london I hope, dancing on tables and wearing really skinny jeans. Enjoy your ivf holiday!

well, had ET today. To get 2 they had to thaw 3, so back on the uterine wagon of destiny may I introduce Eric and Kyle (good and average...but shh, don't tell them that). Had acu with the lovely Christina as usual. Long day though, as per kept us waiting around until 1pm for transfer. As for the transfer..... you may recall from previous whinging, my last 2 ETs were a bit horrible, probably me in wrong frame of mind (or rough blokes with no sense of humour?) anyway this time, lovely women doing it so good atmosphere and more comfortable but they had trouble getting the catheter in first time, said there was a "narrowing" (?) so then used an empty catheter with stylet thing (by this point my smile is fading) - no problem and then she did real thing. So I went into spiral of oh my god, traumatic transfer, uterine contraction, FAILURE!!!!! BFN!!!! I need reassurance, even if its empty reassurance. has this stuffed it up or I am being ridiculous hideous woman on the verge????

PMA.... donde esta?
Come on Eric n Kyle! Fight the negativity! hang on in there!!

Love, Lola

Hi Hammers

Just wanted to pop in for two reasons.

Vicki - Think that your AF is due today and then you can start. I just thought that I should do a jig for you to hope that she shows up on time and you can get going straight away. Good luck babe with getting back onto the rollercoaster. So hope that this will be little bro or sis time for you, dh and your little girl.

Lola - hope that you have been relaxing. Have not seen you around for a few days so hope that you have been chilling out & looking after yourself. Hope that Eric and Kyle are being well looked after and you are keeping up that PMA. I am so very sorry to read Jen's news. Have been messaging her and trying to help but sure that was an awful blow for Oct 05 girlies. Hugs.

1 year exactly since I made my 1st post. Would not have survived without the boards. I am so glad that I found this place.

Just chilling out for me. Hope that you are doing the same M. Ivf 'mini' break. Cannot do anything for the next 2 weeks until AF arrives when we can start the monitored cycle at ARGC. Going to Devon to see my parents and my little sister next weekend. My sister does not know what we are doing so no questions from parents will be allowed. Handy really

Thinking of you.

Hi ladies!

Vicki - hope af arrived as planned.... all systems go go go for Tuesday! I'm a bit anal so please post a full timetable of events for your cycle.. hope this is the one for you lovely, spring is a good time to cycle. Are you doing acu again?

Carolyn on her mini break, hope you are overindulging on behalf of all of us. man, I could do with a bit of liquid sparkle. So 2 weeks of freedom and then a monitored cycle - I picture you like Steve Austin, all wired up while they make you fertility supersonic.
It was terrible news about Jen, so wanted this to work out for her. She'll be ok though, she's a strong lady and I know there'll be a happy ending in the end for her. These are the hard yards.

Meanwhile, at Constipation Centrale.... thank you progesterone for adding to the pleasure. So I'm a few days in to the 2ww, nothing to report. No signs of Eric and Kyle nesting yet. Can't believe I have another 9 days to go.... dum dee dum... bored already. Going to test early again this time - is so much better than getting the call cold.

Take care everyone
Love, Lola

Ladies

Just thought that I would stop by as down to the parents in Devon tomorrow and not back til Monday. 4 days off work & I might just bunk off early and work from home tomorrow. Will be back just in time for Lola's test on Tuesday.

Lola - am crossing everything for you in the hope that you get great news and can hop nimbly out of the multiple timers life raft and leave us there all paddling furiously away.

Have a wonderful Easter weekend everyone. Sun is shining which helps - lets hope that it stays that way. 8)

All ivf talk is off limits this weekend as although my parents know, my little sister will be there too (thankfully) who has no idea. It is such a relief to have an 'ivf free' Easter. I need the break before I go into the rigours of argc testing.

Let's hope that it brings wonderful news for Lola with Eric and Kyle.

Love to you all.

Hi Gang

Lola - Hope Eric and Kyle are nesting in and your looking after yourself. I can fully understand about testing waiting for that call is hell.

Carolyn - hope you have a nice break in Devon, you eat and drink want you want, treat yourself, you deserve.

Well as for me AF bang on time went to clinic mon and Tue for pre cycle tests and all is well so had first jab Tuesday. I on high dose of 300 gonal F plus 300 supercur, my consultant decided not to use cetrotide this time. I have first scan Tuesday 10/4 so hoping for lots of jucy follies Ive been having extra ac to push the follies along so just praying I get a good number.

Take care have a good Easter.

Hello

Just dropping in to say hello Eric and Kyle! I'm rooting for you guys - come on you can do it!! Make your mum proud!! Lola take it easy - and be good to yourself x

Agree about testing too. I'd rather be given a hint (however unreliable) than deal with it in one nail biting phone call with a stranger.

Question - would it matter too much if I had to have blood test a bit later? It just might clash with a week away at friends house in Greece I'm planning - would I get a telling off from Hammersmith? Reckon being away would make last few days easier and I could get test out there if pee sticks +ve and no period?? Also don't want my life to be hijacked by IVF any more than necessary.

Vicki - hope all is going well. I'm dead curious to hear about other clinics and protocols... all fascinating.

Carolyn - bet Devon is lovely - great weather for it. My DH is from Torquay by the way.

Happy Easter All xxx 8) 8)

hey hammer ladies

Did my naughty hpt today and guess what?
BFP!!!! I've done two sticks, can't believe it!!!
I'm a bit dumbstruck to be honest - so used to bracing for bad news, good news doesn't make sense.
have blood test tomorrow
oh god!!!!!!!

Thank you for all your support, especially you Agent Caroline, really honestly wouldn't be still sane if it weren't for the amazing friends I've made through this site.

Margaret - a few days won't really matter, just let them know. Much more important that you are relaxing in Greek idyll.

Vicki - good luck for scan on Tuesday!

Caroline - how was Devon? Good ivf break? Did you catch the sun? I managed to get a few rays in St James Park - me and the 1.3 millions other people there....

Ok ladies, I'm off to pinch myself again
Lots of love

WHOPPPPEEEEEE

I am so darn pleased for you Lola. Been thinking of you over the weekend and hoping that you would get an Easter pressie to remember for the rest of your life.

Wow. So excited for you and gives us Hammers something to cheer about after a long losing streak.

Thrilled for you. Let us know your numbers tomorrow.
