HELP!! Feeling Too Well!!

Post by FionaA »

Hi Ladies

I am 11 weeks preg today.

I have been too afraid to contribute much to this board because I am scared to jinx myself (irrational I know!)

I have had slight nausea on and off from about week seven until a few days ago. I was also exhausted a lot of the time and had sore boobs.

About three days ago I suddenly started to feel better, no nausea, no tiredness and boobs much less sore. Now I'm scared that something has happened to my baby and that is why my symptoms have disappeared.

Can anyone else advise whether they have experienced the same thing??

Thanks, Fee

Hi fee
sounds like your morning sickness is over which does usually happen as you approach the 2nd timester. Sounds like your one of the lucky ones and you've had a good pregnancy to date and will hopefully continue to do so good luck and enjoy feeling good while you can the tiredness can come back with avengence near to the end.

Thanks Jomae!

I guess I just need to hear some common sense once in a while. I'm going mad with anxiety here!
I'd better enjoy feeling good while it lasts...

Fee---It's the worst, this not being able to see inside our uterus at all times to make sure everything is okay, huh? It's normal to lose your symptoms like that towards the end of the first trimester. Try not to panic...easier said than done, I know. I'll be praying for you and Noggin! When's your next scan????

Hey Mego

I know, If I could I'd buy a damn scanning machine and hook myself up every evening. I thought about buying one of those doppler things but I think I'd drive myself mad!!

I will be off for my first OB GYN appt on 17/04 (hopefully I at least get to hear the heartbeat then) and then off for my three month scan on 23/04 (11 long days away...) Thanks for praying for Noggin. I will pray for yours too..will this worry ever end?

Hi Fee,

In answer to your question,no i dont think the worry ever ends!!!

You think your problems are getting pg,and once you are evrything will fall into place, well its not like that you just trade in one set of worries for another! Anxious for viability scan, then heartbeat scan, then first proper scan to actually see baby (or babies) we are always waiting for that next appointment to check everything is ok.

Hard as it is,im trying to go with the flow, and just enjoy otherwise i'd drive me and Derek to distraction(which i have done on several occasions!!)

In this mental rollercoaster of IVF,its hard to imagine we'll soon have a baby.

I wish you all the luck in the world, and hope you have a happy healthy 6 months ahead of you.

Love Nicola

Hi Nicola

Couldn't have said it better myself. We get so focussed on getting preg that we think all will be OK after that but NO NO, that's just the blinking start of it. I suppose we IVFers have that additional worry that if something goes wrong we've got another hard grind ahead to get preg again. I can't stand the thought!

I must admit that sometimes I want to slap myself as I should be trying to enjoy this time but I just can't seem to relax....I am also driving DH bonkres (although he is a worry wort as well).

thanks so much for your good wishes and right back at you!

Hi Fee,

I am 10.5 weeks pregnant and the sore boobs have absolutely settled down. I can actually roll over in bed without waking myself up. The nausea is so sporadic as well. Yesterday I felt as if I was hungover on a boat in 25 foot swells...today I feel great. Go figure. I have a friend who had some bouts of nausea and it all stopped at 8 weeks. I'm sure everything is fine and you are one of the lucky ones who hasn't been blessed with the 'sickness', but blessed with a baby! Have you had an u/s? I know that helps put my mind at ease.

hugs,
Ange

Hey Ange, great to hear from you...

Laughed about the boat thing, sounds bloody awful...I should count my blessings. Thanks for the reassurance, it really helps. I've only had one US at 8 weeks. The next will be at 12.5 weeks. Such a long time to wait but I'm sure if things are OK I will be able to calm down for about five minutes or so!

Hope all is going well with you..

I'm at 8 1/2 weeks and my symptoms have really decreased recently too. But I just had a scan yesterday and everything was fine.

I think we have to remember, too, that we've all been on heavy duty meds for the past two months or whatever. My progesterone was decreased and finally stopped and I can really feel the difference.

So, if we were just "normally" pregnant, we would probably not even notice feeling better, because we'd feel different all over. But we're used to feeling REALLY crazy with hormones and injections and stress that we're looking at it completely differently than most pregnant women who do it the old fashioned way!

I have a 3 year old son....I felt GREAT the whole time. I had a few moments of being "green" or a little lightheaded but that was it. I stayed worried the whole time. You always hear about m/s but don't hear people talking about how common it is to NOT have m/s. Enjoy it :)

Thanks Susan and Katy for your input. I agree that women who get preg naturally probably don't spend half their lives worrying about the stuff that we do, Yay all those hormones....

I spose I should feel grateful that I don't feel awful, there's probably a bunch of women with really awful MS who want to slap me.

Had a scan yesterday which reassured me for about three hours, then I went back to worrying this time that my baby is too small....

Bloody hell another month to wait for the next scan.

I always felt like everything was OK for about 3 hours after each u/s too. I drove my ObGyn's office crazy. Looking back it was crazy for me to worry...I had a picture perfect pg but worried the whole time b/c it had taken me 5.5 years to even get pg..I was a basket case. On the flip side of the coin..I'm not a much of a worrier now that he's here. Weird. Hope you find a way to just enjoy the pg. I know its easier said than done.

Good luck and congrats.

I hardly had ANY morning sickness. AT ALL.
I had some nausea but not much either.
So don't worry... some of us are just lucky like that. =)

The worry never ends though. I have high blood pressure, got put on medication for it and am worried everyday about developing Preclampsya so if it isn't worrying about one thing, it's another. =/

Good Luck hun'!

I'm glad I'm not the only crazy one out there!

I have had two picture perfect scans at 6 weeks and 8 weeks where the baby looked great and we heard a strong heart beat (yes, I actually HEARD the heart beat at my 6 week scan!!) but I still worry constantly.

I have my first ob/gyn appt on the 15th and I will be 11 weeks. I won't have an ultrasound but he said he would try to check for the heart beat with a Doppler. My friend already told me not to freak out if they can't find it so now I'm worried sick. I'm so scared that the baby's heart will stop for no explainable reason. AHHHH!!!!! The madness never ends I guess

Glad to know I've got good company :D
