when?

Post by kerian »

my husband and i have just found out we have to go the ivf route. but i am so confused on when do we start. in south africa u have to pay for it all by your self. do i do it now or wait till we are older. its scary to be told at 27 years old that you cant make babies naturally. so know we just wait for 2 weeks to c the doctor and then decide.

If all avenues have been exhausted and you have made this decision together, the younger you are, the higher your chances for success. No need to wait. I wish you the best. I think everyone here can agree that it is a shock to find that you cannot conceive on your own, but lots of support prayers and a little technology go a long way. Good luck!!

Kerian im so sorry your joining us all, it is always hard to hear the news i think most of us from very young age have this life all planned out..

grow up
find the man of our dreams
get married
then of course we just have babies.....

it can take a while to sink in but please know your not alone at all there are many of us all in the same boat, you have come to a great place to get support and a wealth of knowledge, it can also be overwhelming when you start the whole ivf journey so feel free to post anything you are not sure about, i know a lot of us always left the Dr's office and later thought ahhh but what about, well this is the best place to ask the questions, you will usually find at least one person who had the same thing or felt the same way.

i agree with sdmtb the sooner you can start (that's both physically and mentally) then i would say jump on in, as scary as it can be it's also an amazing journey to travel you will get to see your babies from a few cell's old not many lady's get that.

i wish you loads of luck and a huge baby belly very soon

hugs Aunty

I know you must be scared right know, but knowledge is a blessing. I know how hard it is to know that having babies the natural way is not possible for us. IFV is not funny, but dont be scared of it.

I turned 25 2 days ago. I had my first IVF 2 years ago. My advice would be not too wait until the last minute because sometimes it takes time!

I am sure you will be fine
Good luck

thanks for your kind words. its so nice to find a place where others understand and know what you r going through. i am hoping i can start in the next few months. we need to get the cash together 1st. sadly in south africa medical aid doesnt pay. but if the time is right we will find the money. so for now we just wait.
