Success with FET???

I am scheduled to have a FET in mid-May and was wondering if anyone had any success stories to share? We have 4 frozen embryos, all blastocysts, so I think that is a great start. Any support anyone could offer would be greatly appreciated!

Hi

I had my FET (2 blastocyst transferred) on Friday 3/16 and on the following Tuesday night I had really bad cramping. knew it was implantation cramps right away because I had the same thing a couple of days after my ET two years ago which produced my wonderful twin girls !!!!

Sure enough, when I went for my blood test on Tuesday 3/27 it was POSITIVE!!!

I am now 7 weeks pregnant. Still a little crampy at times but not so much.

Jen, I am going through my first FET now too, I also have 4 blastocysts waiting, we are going to transfer 2 now, hopefully we will still have 2 more for later. I heard a lot of success stories with FET, so I have my hopes high. Some people say that because your body is not so filled up with hormones as in the fresh cycle then it is better, who knows!. I would also love to hear more encouraging stories!!.
My estimated ET will be on April 26......

Hi Vicky! Glad you responded. I am too hopefully with this cycle. My FET will be in May sometime, depending on AF this month. Good luck with everything! Please keep me posted on your details. Are you on other thread somewhere else? I am on the May/June Cycle Buddies.
Also, are you doing anything different on this cycle then you did on the first? I am doing Acupuncture with this cycle. I have had 3 sessions and I already feel more relaxed! It is wonderful and I highly recommend, just to relax in such a stressful time in our lives. I agree with your statement about not having the extra horomones in your body should help!!!
I saw that you also miscarried...I am so sorry for your loss

!!! I know exactly how that felt, but we have to look to the future and be positive!

Jenn.....I am also doing acupuncture on this cycle!!. It is the first time I do it, I started around February, I have been doing it once a week. I read that it could help a lot become pregnant, so I said, hey, have nothing to lose!, I will try everything possible this time to get pregnant and to keep it this time!!. Yes, I had a m/c unfortunately with my first IVF, I see that you had one too, but you are right, we have to look forward to all the great things that are there for us in the future!!. I am on estrogen patches and Lupron now, are you on BCP's?.....

Bluemoon, Congrats on your BFP..and the words of encouragement!

Jenn and Vickky, I am currently in a FET cycle and my transfer date will be 4/26 as well. I have had 3 fresh cycles.. all BFN! so this will be my first FET. I too am doing accupuncture 2 times per week. Depending on the time of the transfer on 4/26, I will either do a session the evening of the 25th or at least 2hrs before transfer on the 26th and my final one after my 24hrs of bedrest. Since I am 39 and have had three BFN, I will be doing AH as well. Currently I am on the estrogen patches, heprin and baby asprin, I will start estrace within a few days and the dreaded PIO on 4/22. Additionally, I have seen on other threads that pineapple helps, so I am eating pineapple as well. I have decided that this will be my last IVF cycle, so I am trying everything that can help.

Hey Gen! Thanks for your comments! Good luck with your cycle! My regimen is similar to your, but instead of baby aspirin I am using lovenox which is kind of like baby aspirin and heparin. Do you have any history with blood clotting? That is why my RE put me on heaprin. I am also seeing a Hematologist next week to see if he wants to treat my blood clotting disorder ant different Also, what does AH mean? Please keep us posted on your details and results. You will be in my thoughts and prayers!!! Keeping my fingers crossed for BFP for everyone!!!

Anyone who wants to reply...just curious what your diagnosis is for your infertility???

Hi Jen,

Our dx is male factor infertility, coupled with fibroids, which I had removed in Oct of 2004 and again in August of 2006. I am on the heparin/asprin, because I was tested positive for APA which is antiphospholid antibody, which is blood clotting issues, and as I understand it from my RE, this trait makes it more difficult for the embryo to implant. AH is assisted hatching. At my clinic, it is recommended for those who are over age 38 (I think) and have a history of m/c or failed IVF cycle. It assists the embyo out of its outerlining, which will make it easier to implant. The risk of AH is that it may damage the embryo. I have only three embryos remaining, so on the 23rd, I will meet with the RE in consult with the embryologist to discuss if AH should be done on all three.. I am just trying to take it one step at a time and pray as I go along.

I hope you get good news from your hematologist appt next week. I will continue to keep you posted and share what I have learned along the way.

Oh..I see! I didn't know what the abbr. stood for. We also had assisted hatching on our embryos.
I tested + for Factor 2 on a Thrombophelian test. My RE thinks that is why I had a miscarriage. So hopefully with this cycle and the new meds I will get a BFP and keep it for nine months!!!

Gen... looks like you are my cycle buddy!!, we have exactly the same dates. My FET will be on 4/26, and I have to go to the clinic on 4/21 for scan and bw and if everything is ok I will also be starting the dreaded PIO shots around that date (and they will be twice a day for a couple of days!!

). I also heard about the pineapple thing, I guess I will try it too!!.
Jen...about your question, we have male factor, no other issues apparently, after our m/c my RE said most probably it was a chromosomal abnormality which is the most common cause of m/c, he only sent me to have a kariotype done (to see if my chromosomes are ok) which results I don't have yet. I haven't been tested for anything else yet, he said if I had another m/c then he would throw the whole kitchen sink of labs on me, but not for now, so will see.....

Jenn / Vickky, Hope you are doing well.
Vickky, FET is only 8 days away for us. I am getting anxious. How much bedrest did your RE recommend? Also will your follow up accupunture be on the following day? I will be on 24 hr bedrest and I have an accupuncture appt the following afternoon. It so happens that on Fridays she is in another city, so I will have to drive 45 mins there and back, I am just a little concern about the drive, but I will have to ask her if it makes a big difference if I do the post accupuncture on Friday or Monday. Just curious to see what others suggest or have done.

Gen, yes our ET is so close now!!!!. My RE doesn't particularly recommend a certain amount of rest, I will take 2 days anyway, just in case

. About acu, my acu doctor told me that as long as you have the appt within 24hs of the transfer you are ok. I am having it right after the transfer, but she is close to my home.....

just wanted to wish you all loads of luck and to let you no they can work and they are a little less stressful well i found mine was i remember it so well it only seems like a few months ago but its years now my twins are nearly 2 years old
