Egg white cervical mucus with ivf

Post by sydnee »

Hi everyone, I am new to this forum. I am on my second cycle of IVF and I was wondering.. are you supposed to get so much of the egg white cervical mucus while taking shots? I had my first cycle canceled b/c they were afraid I would get hyperstimulated. I was on 200 IU's of Follistim a day, and this time I am on 100 IU's of Follistim a day. I go tomorrow for another scan. I went two days ago for a scan and I had quite a few follicles again but not as many as last time and my estrogen is lower b/c of the lupron that I am taking also. how long does it take before they do the egg transfer? sorry I kind of rolled a few questions into one. doesn't it mean you are ovulating when you have the egg white cervical mucus? does that mean I already released my eggs? I am getting scared b/c I don't go into the Dr. until tomorrow. I hope they didn't time it wrong. what do you girls think? sorry this is so long.

Hi there i am 8 weeks 3 days pregnant from IVF second cycle. During this cycle i had such bad discharge much as you are decribing but i would have to change my briefs several times a day it was so bad. They kept telling me my womb lining was the correct thickness but every day all this stuff kept coming out and i was convinced it was thinning out my lining but obvioulsy not!!

Try not to panic, I am sure all will be fine. As long as it doesnt have an offensive smell (i think that means an infection or something) then it should be ok.

I have had friends do IVF and no one told me about the mucus. I was scared b/c I had TONS of cervical mucus while I was stimulating. TONS. I asked my RE about it and he said it was perfectly normal. After the ultrasound, he confirmed that the reason why I had so much was b/c of all the follicles. So, it is a good thing!! Means your body is doing what it is supposed to do. All the drugs they have you on, I doubt you will ovulate on your own. I was worried about that too, but it didn't happen. The whole process is nerve racking... all you can do is take it day by day!! Good Luck!

Hi,
I had a ton of cervical mucus during stimulation and I was on only 50 of Follistim and 75 of menopur. They did U/S all throughout and my follicles just kept growing. Then when I did the Ovidrel (HCG) shot the mucus all went away. I thought I had ovulated but during the ER I had 19 eggs. So don't worry. I am sure you have many happy little eggs in there.
