Hi there,

Have not posted for a while. My dad took away our computer and it has now been revamped with XP, whatever that is!!

I had my follow up with Mr Rai and, hurrah, I have another problem!! It is as they suspected to do with my blood clotting. Got a bit confused (nothing unusual there) but the number should have been 6 and mine was 2. I have to take heparin next cycle, and if all works out (here's hoping) then I would have to take it up to 34 weeks. My Dad has taken Heparin before, for DVT. He had to inject in into his stomach!! I am hoping it is also available in tablet form.

July Ann, I know what you mean about investigations. I have had countless at a BUPA hospital and at Bourn, and do feel a little peeved that only after 5 cycles does something else come up.
Do try not to worry too much about this latest diagnosis with the cysts, endo problems. I had a large cyst when I was pregnant, and was told that is not unusual for cysts to come and go. Also, I have known women with severe endo who do get pregnant with IVF.

I will probably be cycling in Feb now, by the time I have seen my other consultant!! However, and forgive me for being completely barking, I am feeling quite relaxed about this wait. A friend of mine has a sister who is a bit "spiritual". She has told people countless things that have happened, when there was no way that she could have known about them. She has told my friend that she has a strong feeling that I will be pregnant at the end of 2004.

I have decided to attach hope to this. My thoughts are, if it doesn't work out I can feel like complete c**p at the end of 2004, and will enjoy this +ve thought for now!!

Any way, hope to be cycling with you both in the new year.

Here's to a drunken christmas!!

LOL

Karen
xx
Me 33 DH 34

Hi Karen,
nice to hear from you and glad you are sounding positive.......

Hopefully now they have detected the problem with clotting etc the herapin will do the trick...........Im only at the start of my journey(1xicsi(no et) and 1 FET) but from reading through the various posts it seems they do not pick up on problems very early, its such a shame that more time is not spent on ironing out all problems at the start but then maybe we have to go through a couple of cycles before they come to light.

Our problem is male fertility and I made the big mistake of thinking once we got to the EMBRYO stage it would be plain sailing, ie pop them back in and voila!! How wrong I was, am now getting paranoid that there is something wrong with me too.....and how many attempts before they find out what.......

You may have read I am going to do another FET in the New Year, should be doing one now but our new clinic is not yet ready!! (bloody builders) AF due soon but to fit in with clinic will have to wait for next one so looking at having them popped back in April!! seems a lifetime away..........(1/4 of a year!!)

Oh well,
enough waffle,
Have a good xmas and lets hope Father xmas brings us some luck for 2004

sounds like the 3 of us will be cycling together again

Sarah
xxx
HI sarah - I just wanted to butt in (sorry) -just to say I have been thru EXACTLY the same feelings as you. I too have male factor (v severe). I remember being SO SO happy just to get 3 embies after ICSI - that I thought that was it. I too am now worried that maybe its me or that I didnt do the right thing after et. ....I went back to work, exercised etc etc.
Am actually thinking of packing my job in quite soon - so will be interesting to know if properly resting amkes any difference next time.

TAke care

Cazx
Hi KAREN,
Good to see you back with your XP - hope it didn't hurt having it fitted!
Just wabted to say that I'm on heparin injections - yes injections, sorry it doesn't come in tablet form - but hey, for me its worked (now 18 weeks) so I really don't mind!
I was really calm about my last tmt cos a spiritualist told me to go to Notts and a Dr there would help and that i'd have a baby. So we travelled from Edinburgh to Notts for our tmt on the word of a spiritualist!!! lol.
Sarah - good luck with your tmt in the New Year.
Caz - there doesn't seem to be any research as to wether resting after et makes any difference - I've had 2 tmts work(ist just til 10 wks) ans I went back to work straight after et,this time I was advised to rest for at least the first 2 weeks. I think if the embies are going to take they will.
Take care and have a good Xmas.
Di
hi girls

glad to hear from you all again.Karen so glad it went so well with rai.I go back to the clinic in the new year so hope we can get that sorted out. Karen you must feel like me at least there is some answer to why all our tmt have failed.
caz and di it's nice to hear you are both well, hope you are resting di.
sarah looks like the gang will be ready to go in the new year, well could not think of a nicer lot to cycle with.

from july ann
been in tmt for 4 years.Male factor. Have had 3 icsi, one ivf with donor sperm.Went for fet with 7 eggs but none made it to blastocyst. just had 5 DI. test date 27 july
I've been thinking about you lot! I know you were all going to cycle together in the New Year and I just wanted to let you know that I'm still thinking of you and watching out for you all and hoping you all make it this time!!
On the subject of endo/high FSH and cysts - I've had all three. They found endo when I had my laporoscopy/hysteroscopy and lasered some away but told me I'll never get rid of it properly, I permanently have a high FSH (on my last tmt it went up to 10.6) and when I found out I was pg I had two huge cysts on my left ovary. Thankfully the last scan showed the cyst had reduced and they don't seem to worried about it.
If I can do it - then so can you!!!
My little twins continue to grow at a rapid pace (I'm huge!) and I have my 20 week scan next Monday so I'm half way there. The time has gone so quickly for me, but I remember too well how it drags when you are in between tmts, so I wanted to send you lots of love and positive thoughts and let you know I'm watching and still eating percy pigs!!
nikola it is great to hear from you and I'm so glad that you are all doing ok.When do you go for your next scan. The clinic should phone on tuesday and I hope they will be able to get me in soon, then I will know what i'm up against.
I have also been keeping an eye out for you and wishing you all the best for 2004.
I also had a Hystrosrospy (crap spelling)done before my tmt as they found a lump at one of my scans......so weather this helps the embies stick in better who knows.... Maybe it gives you a good clear out if you excuse the saying (better than period poo !!!)
Never did find out what that meant.
Just stuck my head in to wish you all luck and go keep an eye on Nik who has reduced this to gutter level by talking about period poo - honestly turn my back for a second and off she goes - not very pleasant as just going in to the bathroom after DH in the morning makes me honk for England and picking up puppy poo......... well was not going to reduce myself to Nik's level but have now - sorry.
I am watching you all with deep affection and loads of luck - we have all to various extents gone through the mill - can't help with high FSH etc as seem to be ok there but just do the ectopic bits and losing baby at 20 weeks. Now 8.4 with twins (hopefully still both there) and panicking most days but advice is go with the flow - I was running around like a mad thing after ec and did loads of playing with puppies and rough games..........
Good luck and take care

I would just like to point out that it wasn't me that started the period poo it was jackie T!! I simply admitted to knowing what she was talking about!
Tracey Sharp you shouldn't be picking up dog poo! I hope you wear gloves and use a pooper scooper! Arthur and Jeremy are both very considerate and make sure they do it in the poo area where we walk which means I don't have to pick it up - such clever boys!!
July ann - hope the hospital phoned with some good news yesterday and that you can get on with things asap.
As we are on the subject of poo - sorry folks - I do wear rubber gloves and use toilet tissue - some are like MR Whippy ice cream - depending on what time of day - she is only a puppy remeber still Nik so I only get one on her walkies and the rest she goes on the gravel outside the conservatory but what a job!
