Hey ladies, just reading your posts. You seem like a close group. Any of you starting stims around the 29th of April? I'm estimating this will be my day 3 and I do the flare protocal.

My IVF earlier this month was cancelled due to my prolactin levels being too high. So RE put me on dostinex to get them back to normal so I should be able to get a go when AF arrives next week. I've been posting on the April thread but probably fall more in line with you guys.

On my first IVF in Dec, I got pg with just one fertilized embie but m/c at 8wks due to chromosome error (Trisomy 22). That was a very difficult thing for me and DH to go through. I wasn't sure I would get through it but I did. This will be my last go at IVF due to financial/emotional reasons. But I'm ok if it doesn't work out. I'll be ready to move on with my life. And if God opens the door for adoption, I may go that route.

Hello!!

Sorry I have been away. I had company last week and this weekend.

Sophie- you can sew? What a woman!! When I was in high school we traveled to Madrid and went to a show where there were Flamenco dancers. Is that what you are talking about? I loved it! Wish I could do it!

Welcome Itaylor and mommytobe!!!!!!!!

So we are having trouble getting our AF's? I will jig for you!
Are we also having a problem getting our PMA up? I think it is just because most of us have been through it and we know what to expect and we are afraid of the same outcome. Every cycle is different. That is what I'm told at least. I just keep telling myself that and it helps me. Keep your positive attitudes up!!

We are having a BBQ this weekend and there will be lots of children there. Pray for me! I love having everyone over, but it's hard to see everyone with their babies when I don't have one. :(

Well Monday is over thank God!! have a great week!!
Jenn

arizonakiwi...I think that is a great idea to have a list of perk me ups. We are all going to have our good and bad days. I think what is the most diificult for me is the loss off control. I am usually a "control freak" and to not be able to control this situation is the hardest for me. Let me know what I can do to help with that GREAT IDEA!!!

LTaylor...Hi there and welcome to the club. So sorry for your loss. I also had a miscarriage in March and I was 5 weeks and 5 days. Absolutely, hands down the hardest thing I have ever experienced. I know exactly how you feel. I am also have an FET in May. Hopefully around the 16th or 17th, depending on AF. Let me know if I can be of any support to you. What is your protocol??? BCP, Lupron, estrogen...etc.

Hi Tia...Welcome Aboard!!! You are right, this is a great group of women who are here to support each other unconditionally. How are you feeling since your surgery? As far as the needles go...they aren't so bad. I hate to say this, but I kinda got use to them!

Carolyn and Tanya...I agree about the IPod thing...don't know how I lived without mine either!!! I am also eagerly ( I'm not sure how eager though) waiting for AF :? . I don't feel like it is coming soon...no symptoms or anything.

Sophie...yes, you were missed. Glad everything is alright. Are you getting packed for your trip yet? I am so excited about mine, I started to pack yesterday and I don't leave until FRIDAY!!! Crazy, huh?

My2LnT...was this your first acu treatment? I really didn't feel results (physically) until the 3rd treatment. I felt like a wet noodle!!! I was so relaxed it was unreal. The 1st and 2nd treatments I felt a tingling in my hands and feet. She said that was a response to the treatment. She also said I was getting a good response to the needles on my stomach (the ones for reproduction). They had red circles around the needles. So I guess that was a good sign. Just ask him/her how your body is responding the the treatment. Hope that helps. Let me know what they say!!!

Jovigal...Hi there!!! Welcome to the tread.

So the birthday party for my nephew was fun...no big deal! I was worried about nothing. I am at the age where all my friends are habing babies, so there are tons of birthday parties to go to. I go to the ones I feel that I am up to.
I had labs down today for my Hematologist and I go back on Thursday for my consult. Everyone keep their fingers crossed that there is good news.
Hello to anyone that I missed and hope all is well!!! :D

Talk to you later!!

Hello

I have been so sick today. I spent the whole day in bed puking!!! I mean at least it could be morning sickness right? LOL Anyhow I just want to feel better and soon! I have to go to work tonight. That should be fun. I am feeling just OK. Not great and not as horrible as earlier but still just Yucko supremo! Anyhow....still waiting on AF......waiting.....trying to be patient. Not really working too well.

Sophie
That is so cool that you are doing that dancing. I just love it. Wish that I could watch you!!! It is so neat that you are sewing your own skirt. I have only used the machine a few times in my life and every time I feel like I lose the battle with it. It never seems to do what I want it to do....

L
It has been hard dealing with it. I take it one day at a time. My clinic tests everything I guess. I don't know. I wanted to know and I asked about it before their testing. I keep looking forward and moving on. I am so excited about this upcoming cycle. I can't wait for it to be here and to know what happens. My DH just keeps telling me that I can't look at it like I already lost one. He said it will be healthier to look at it like it is the first go around. He is right. Some days are better than others but I really try to focus on positive things. That is really what keeps me moving.

Jackie
I really do like my ipod as well and I am so happy that I bought it. It is just trying to figure it out I guess. I really do like it though. So much easier than any other method of carrying music, movies photos, etc.

Tia
Welcome! You have come to the right place. This is a place of comfort and support. I have found it to be so helpful because a lot of my family and friends have no clue what I have been through and what I go through dealing with this infertility stuff. They just dont understand. They try but how can you really understand unless you have been there and been so frustrated you want to scream!!! I love coming here to get real world answers to my questions. Plus the board is open when the RE isnt!!!! LOL Again Welcome feel free to share.

Hey Jovigal
How are you doing? Glad to have you here. So sorry that you had a m/c and then a canc cycle. I hope that things will work out for you to move on with ivf and get your baby out of the deal. That would be the greatest! It is a great place for support and friendship. :)

Jen
Glad that you had your labs done. Woo Hoo another step closer to the goal! Thats great that you did well at the party as well. Sometimes it can be so hard. Good Job staying focused on your own prize!!!

Talk to you later. off to working nights....wooooo hooooo!

Thank you for the AF dancing I appreciate it!!!

TransRN – Doing an AF jig for you *----* it is on it’s way…… (or perhaps you should do a test !!!)

Sophie – A skirt and peanut butter cookies – you domestic goddess, 2 more sleeps until your vacation – you must be getting excited
An update on my cycle. I start down regging on the 19thApril & blood test 2nd May. EC should be the week of the 14th May.

ltaylor – Your little one will always be part of your memories, perhaps buy a special piece of jewellery or plant a flower or special tree in the garden so you will always have something special to remember your little one by.

Jackie – perhaps that fashion designer is still lurking around there, maybe you should pull out a pen and paper and give it a go.

Mommytobe – Welcome, this is a wonderful place for support, a friendly ear and a sounding board. It sounds like you have found a good doctor and only a few weeks until you start. Take care and stay strong and I look forward to getting to know you.

Carolyn – doing an AF jig for you also !!

My2Lnt – Hi, hang in there with the acupuncture I haven’t tried it myself but I hear it often takes a few sessions for you to feel the effects

Jovigal – Welcome, I am sorry you have had such a hard time over the last few months.

Jen779 – I’m glad the birthday party wasn’t as bad as you thought it would be – you get a gold start for surviving with flying colours

Me – I’m doing good. I picked up my meds on Monday and I think I have turned a corner and I am finally feeling positive about this cycle – I’m looking forward to my first injection on Thursday. 2 more sleeps to go.
Have a good day everyone, thank you for your kind comments over the last few days they have helped so much.

Hugs to you all

Pick me up thoughts to perk us up

•Chocolate – lots of it
•The fact that I have family, friends and a dh who I love and who love me whether I get a BFP or a BFN.
•Plan a few days away in the middle of your treatment – something to look forward to and a bit of time out for you and your DH

hi tia and welcome - this group is lovely and very welcoming. I think we have all had the phobia about needles but they are so small that they are not that bad and soon you will be an amazing pin cushion like the rest of us. I'm sure we can give you loads of hints and tips to make the needles not so bad when the time comes.

   Carolyn wow they certainly don't tell you all that do they..... however it really seems that they look into every nook and cranny to find the symptons of infertility and although my clinic is good, I feel sometimes just part of a production line of infertile women - same drugs, same scans nothing tailored or different! thank you for the info - we will certainly think about it, however lets hope that we dont need it eh!!

Steph - my accu uses different amounts of needles depending on what she is concentrating on - for example I went at the weekend to get my self back into myself so to speak after AF and I had 2 in each foot, one on each leg, a few in the tummy area and one on top of the head but other occassions i have had more - you must do what you think is right and if you feel that you are not getting any benefit then it is worth trying someone else - I know when it works as i get this really bad dull ache around the needle area and there are times when i don't!

Hi Jovigal - I've seen you on other posts - welcome. so sorry to hear about your mc in Dec and canx cycle - I admire your strength for looking into the future but hopefully you shouldn't need to with this next cycle.

Jenn - i think the summer is always the hardest as everyone is out with families in the sun - I hope you enjoy the bbq and its not too hard for you.

Hey Jenn779 where are you off to - is the cruise?? You must be so excited if you are packed already!! :D Good luck with your test results on Thursday.

Tanya you poor love - i hope your not working feeling sick - you should tucked up in bed!! But how cool would it be if it was morning sickness

angela so glad you're feeling positive - they don't call IVF a rollercoaster for nothing but glad you're on the up side  thank you for the vote of confidence but somehow think that part of me has long gone :D
OMG two more sleeps - not long.

arizonakiwi - i like the list!!

Shantala - 2nd day at work - how did it go??

Tia - welcome to the thread. We all feel a bit down when AF arrives as it means another month has gone when we did not get what we wanted. Sooner she is here then the sooner she is gone

Jovigal - Welcome to you too. I am sorry that you have had a hard time. Quite a few of us here have been through some hard times to get this far. Makes us extra brave and special. Think that it will likely be our last try with my eggs for all sorts of reasons. I expect to be starting after you

Jackie - as I said not trying to put you off at all. Just trying to share info so we all go in with eyes open. Must say that I feel very much the same as you. Protocols have been tweaked a little for me but not personalised and little involvement from the consultant during cycles. Anything different, we have really had to push for - such as blasts on the last cycle. I am very hapy with what i have seen so far at the new clinic. I did not feel that I could say that we had tried everything unless we had a go there. So hope that you will not need to go there at all

Sophie -what a talented lady in our midst

Steph - same as Jackie. Varies depending on timing of cycle. Normally one in each foot, one around the knees, one in hands and couple in tummy. Usually only have the ones in my head around ET - before and after. I go to an acu who specialises in supporting ivf. I find that it made a difference to my AF and also the way that I handled the drugs on tries 2 & try 3

Tanya - so sorry that you are poorly. Huge hugs. Hope that you feel better soon hun

Hello to everyone that I missed. Sorry

Well all your jigging helped me. Thank you. AF started last night so D1 today. Had bloods done at new clinic and FSH level is quite low (4.4) so if other tests this month go well then the chances of my starting tmt on next AF are higher. More bloods tomorrow. Will I have any left

Take good care lovelies.

Hello everyone,

I hope everyone is doing well.

Jen779-To answer your question, my protocol with the fresh cycles have been lupron and follistim before egg retrieval and after the progesterone shots (the big ones!). After the transfer, they also have me take one low dose aspirin in addition to the progesterone. They keep me on the prenatal vitamins the entire time. I’m sorry to hear about your mc as well. My clinic is making wait to have two AF’s before I can do a FET so mine will most likely be the middle of June. I’m not sure what medicine I will take with the FET since I have not done it before. My nurse did mention something about taking oral meds two weeks before the transfer. It sound a lot easier than the fresh.

Jenn-Thanks for the welcome and I hope your BBQ goes well. I am still having trouble adjusting to my new nephew. My head tells me I should be so happy but my heart is so sad.

Tranrn-Thanks for the words of encouragement. I don’t know what make me more scared with the FET-getting another BFN or getting a BFP with the chance of another mc. I hope you are feeling better.

Arizonkiwi-Thanks for the idea of planting something to remember my lost baby. I think I will plant some flowers that will come back each year.

Jovigal-Welcome! Sorry to hear about your mc as well. It seems we all have a lot in common. If you don’t mind me asking, how did you know it was a chromosome error (trisomy 22). Even though I had the gestational sac (when it came out I saved it and brought it to my doctor-sorry if TMI) they didn’t run any tests except to confirm what it was. She just said it was “probably” something with the chromosomes. I asked my nurse later why they didn’t do more testing but she said it was because it was my first mc. I never had to have a D&C.

My2LnT-I did acupuncture for my second IVF and got a BFP. I really think it helped. I didn’t really feel any different after the treatments but somehow it made a difference. He normally used around 10 needles. I asked him to follow a protocol I got off the internet for IVF patients and he accommodated me. He met with me right before transfer and right after too. I plan on going back to him for my FET.

I better go. Hello to everyone!

Hello ladies!

How are you doing? I have to do a super quick post because I have a lab meeting starting soon. But I wanted to take a peek and see how everybody's doing. Geez, right after I posted on Monday, the electricty was gone! We had a big wind storm and some wires didn't like it. Then we lost internet for 24 more hours.. ;) But I'm back!

Gosh, thanks for the nice comments about the sewing... they really encourage me! But LOL I've quarelled with that sewing machine and made stupid mistakes all the same, so I'm not sure about the talent per se, lol! But it does make decent skirts at the end of the process, so... at least I get something! ;)

Shantala: still waiting for your reply about the list. I'm leaving tomorrow... *starts to feel anxious* Hope you're ok and in a good mood sweetie! *hugs*

TansRN: awwwwww noooo! I'm so sorry that you're sick sweetheart! Yuck, it really sounds like a bad virus you got there. What an awful thing to feel nauseous... besides IBS, this is really the worst feeling. *HUGS* And your pizza sounds fab! yum! And about the dancing, well, I might post a couple of pics of the show on the web for you guys to see! ;)

My2LnT: Sorry, the info is late, but my acupuncturist usually used about 5-7 needles, mostly in the legs. Before and after transfer, he concentrated on the tummy. He used a needle in my elbow for stress, too. SO sorry to hear that you're in pain! Oh my, this is a tough week for a lot of people here! I really hope this goes away and you start feeling better soon! Poor thing! *HUGS*

Carolyn: yippee on AF starting! :D She did make you wait, you poor thing! Thanks for your good wishes for my trip! :D

Mommytobe: WELCOME DEAR! Thanks for joining, it will be great to cycle along with you, Sorry that AF is giving you trouble, but at least she's there when needed! ;) Thanks for sharing your story with us. My doc confirmed the info I heard here: when the tissue that form your tubes is dead, it may leak toxins into your uterus and that interferes with implantation, so in those cases it's better to have them removed and that's probably why you went through surgery. I hope the recovery is going well and that you're taking lots of me time through all this. You've been through a lot sweetie and don't worry, it will get exciting real soon. I totally get you on the discouragement; we all feel low at one point or the other, it's so normal. But you'll see, once you get started, the excitement will come back, even if cautiously. As for the needles, really, don't worry. When I did my first injection I had a nurse and my DH watching and waiting after me and when I saw that needle against my skin I was just unable to push it through and I was shaking a little. But I just took a big breath and gave a little push and barely felt a thing. The second injection was a piece of cake, I swear. Trust me, like in everything, the first time is the scariest and once it's behind you, you wonder why you worried so much in the first place.

And of course, we're all here with you, for the good times and the bad! *HUGS* I'm wishing you a BFP so all these bad memories and feelings to go away! ;)

jen: awwwww thanks so much for saying that! yes, we've started packing more or less, taking things out and putting them in a pile somewhere to make sure we don't forget them... we'll officially pack tonight! We're leaving tomorrow at 5:30 for Paris, then on the 21st for Egypt! YAHOO! I'm getting very excited! :D I'm SO happy that the party went well! You're absolutely right; you should only go to baby parties when you feel like it; one should never force things. I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed for your apt so you get the news you want! :D

jenn: yes, that's what I'm talking about. Our teacher is really the best there is in Montreal, and the level she teaches is equivalent to the one you find in Madrid, a thing that can't be said about all flamenco teachers here... she really is an amazing dancer and her choreographies are fabulous! And yes, you could absolutely do it sweetie! Why don't you look for lessons? ;) I hope your BBQ goes real well and that you have loads of fun! Usually, once the first guests have arrived, the tension goes down and you start enjoying their company just fine!

Jovigal: Aw, sorry that your IVF was cancelled! What a disappointment it must have been! I really hope that AF will show her ugly face right on time or even early so you can get going ASAP. Keeping my fingers crossed! Welcome to the group; it's so nice to have you here with us! :D I wish you a strong BFP that lasts this time... you've been through a lot, you poor thing, and I'm sure you have a bright and happy future ahead of you sweetie, no matter what it brings you sound like you have the strength to make the most of it and I admire you for that big time. *hugs*

I'm really sorry if I'm missing more people... but HUGS!

Aaaaaand I have GREAT NEWS! I'M SO EXCITED! AF decided to show up early! Okay, it was spotting, but big enough for me to call the clinic. It's subsided a little since then, but I know I'm not pregnant and that's the whole point of waiting for AF, so... I was called back today and I have my calendar! YAHOO! I'm starting the BCP tonight, and I'll start down regging with Lupron on May 2nd. Then I'll have the suppression check on May 17th and start stimming on the 18th. Then I'll have another blood test on the 22nd and then an u/s every second day till I'm triggered. I should go through ER and ET in the week of May 28th.

I CAN DO IT! And it's SO EXCITING! Sorry to scream like that, but I've decided to tell no one this time given the disappointing presence/support I got from my two closest friends at the time. I really feel like advertising it right now (sure you know the feeling lol  ) but I can't! So I'm screaming here instead! :D

Well, okay... this might be my last post before I leave for Paris tomorrow. I wish you all a great couple of weeks and I'll make sure I catch up with you guys as soon as I come back. Just in case, I'll post the list one last time.

Lots of kissies and hugs to you all, and keep that PMA going!

Sophie who'll have a little thought for all of you every day

I hope someone can help that is currently going through all this and answer this question for me and excuse me for not knowing the short cut to some of the words for IVF

I will be doing IVF in July and the doctor told me at first to call with my May cycle and that I would come in on day 3 and start BCP and injections in June and a hopeful transfer in July but when we had to attend a required IVF class last month the nurse informed me that b/c my cycles were not regular that I am to call them with my April cycle on day 1 and that I was going to have to come in on day 3 for blood work. I guess I just want to know what the reason is for blood work on cycle day 3 in April when I thought I was just getting on BCP for a couple months to regulate me. I mean I knew I was gonna have to do that in May so does this mean I have to do it in April and May?

I know I must sound stupid but I have never done this and still trying to understand some of it. I am so happy I found this site, it is a blessing.

Thanks!
