Rileydee, congrats on your healthy baby girl! I guess they decided that bp was too high and they wanted you to have her. She sounds just perfect and I am glad the section wasn't as bad as you expected. I hope you are getting some rest now and enjoying time with Allie.

Anna, how are you and Matthew doing? Is that bathroom done yet?!

Dione, are the twins home yet? How are you feeling? It must be torture to be home with them at the hospital.

Jo, good to hear that you and Ellie are doing well. Are things going smoothly at home now? She is getting so big!

Demi, I'll race you and let you win. You can be next and then I'll go. I am guessing that Rittie has had hers. Hopefully we will hear soon.

Things are going well here. We did a little nesting this weekend (ok, my lovely hubby did the work for me  ). It feels good to get the place clean and ready to go though. I hope not to have to be induced, but I suspect it is only a matter of time. I'll let you all know if anything happens at my Wed. appointment.

Hope you all are enjoying your little ones or your last days with bellies!

Wow! Our baby thread is dwindling as all of them are making their appearances. Congrats to all the most recently crowned mommies!
Yes ladies, both of my boys are home. Xavier was in the hospital for 11 days and Isaiah came home on Easter Sunday after 17 days. Both boys are doing well and gaining weight, now weighing 5 pounds 3 ounces and 5 pounds 4 ounces.
It's much calmer than I expected but that is because DH has been home. He is going back to work next week and I am terrified! How will I take care of both of them by myself all day every day? It will work out I know, but I am still scared.
I am so glad to hear that everyone else is holding out and having full term babies. My boys andd Ellie know that hospital stays are no fun and I wouldn't wish it on anyone.
Once again, congrats to those new mommies and good luck to those who are yet to deliver. Looking forward to more baby news!

Hello girls,

Our beautiful baby girls, Elizabeth and Angeline, were born on Sat. 31st March, weighing in at 5lbs 11 and 5lbs 5. I went for a regular GP check up on the Thursday and she decided that I should go to hospital as I was developing signs of pre-eclampsia with higher BP, Odema, and a bit of blood in urine. The doctors at the hospital decided that although pre-eclampsia has not kicked in it can only go downhill and it would be better to get the babies out while everyone was healthy and well. So after queueing for a theatre/resources to perform the C-section (yup, we kept being pushed out by EMERGENCY cases) for 2 days, the babies were born at 36 weeks and 1 day.

The babies are out of this world gorgeous. They look totally different. Elizabeth is blonde while Angeline has dark hair. They have been wonderful babies to look after so far with us more or less continuing on the routine set up in hospital. We are now managing (more or less) having only to get up to feed once between midnight and 6am which means that we are getting chunks of 2-3 hours sleep between feeds at night. And my husband has been very hands on with looking after the babies. His parents also came down and basically fed and watered us over the last 10 days. We are so grateful.

The C-section was so much better than expected that I'd say its a very positive experience. The recovery hasn't been bad either, I have not been in pain at all. The only thing is that my BP got really high 4 days after the birth (apparently pre-eclampsia type symptoms can set in after birth) and I am now on BP medication. My wound is also a little infected but other than that, I'm out and about although I'm taking it very easy.

Congratulations to all the new mums with their new bundles of joy born over the last few weeks. I can't wait to go through the log and see who's given birth to whom. Hope you're all evjoying your babies as much as I am - feel the joy ladies and remember every precious moment!!!

With love in my heart
Rittie

Congratulations Rittie! How wonderful to hear that the experience was a positive one. It sounds like the doctors made the right choice to go ahead and get Elizabeth and Angeline out before the pre-eclampsia set in. You did a great job keeping them safe and healthy until 36 weeks, and they are wonderful weights. I hope things continue to go smoothly, and you keep taking good care of yourself! Keep us posted and let us know how your are healing and how those beautiful girls are doing.

If you can (and all of you other ladies who have had your babies) please post some photos for us to see on photobucket.

Take care and stay in touch!

Rittie,
I don't know much, but I know you can go to www.photobucket.com.
username: ivfgroup
password: ivfgroup

You can view the album and add your own photos. There is also a photobucket forum under the parents section so if you have trouble uploading photos I am sure some of those sweet ladies can help. I can't wait to see some pictures, let us know if you post them!

Just an update here...I had an appointment yesterday and I am still pregnant! No induction yet, but it could happen next week. They did finally check my cervix yesterday and I am at a station zero, 70% effaced, and a "loose 1" dilated (I am hoping that means almost a 2). My cervix is favorable in case we need to induce, but hopefully things will start rolling naturally. I go back on Monday for a non-stress test and an ultrasound, so we'll see.

Hope you are all enjoying your little ones. Demi, any babies yet? How are all of you who have had yours?

Hello ladies, happy Friday.

Dione, so glad to hear your boys are home. Hope all is well. You will be fine looking after your precious bundles!!!

Rittie, what fab news. Many many congratulations on the birth of your beautiful girls. What good weights too. Good to see they are feeding well and letting you get some much needed sleep! Soooo happy for you, take care of yourself, hugs xx

Lucy, how are you today. Any twinges or signs of an imminent arrival?Hope you are OK and not too uncomfortable. Is your bp behaving itself?

Rileydee, how are you ? Is all going well? Are you getting enough sleep?

Demi, any news? Are those twins about to make an appearance?

As for us, all is going well. We have days when he doesn't settle and needs constant cuddles, and days like today when he is happy to sleep and gurgle! I have also 'trained' DP to give Matthew his last feed of the evening at around 11.30pm. (I leave some expressed milk) I then go to bed at 10pm, Matthew wakes around 4.30am for his next feed meaning that I get about 6 hours of much needed sleep each night!!!! Matthew now weighs a whopping 9lbs so we must be doing something right. He is 4 weeks old today. The days just fly by and he changes each day becoming more alert and interested in what is going on around him........I'll stop chuntering on about him now before I become a total baby bore

Good luck to those in waiting and well done to those new mummies.
Take care
Hugs

Hi everybody! Just had time to log in after the babies arrived :)
Lucy, I knew I couldn't hang in much longer :) We had 1 boy and 1 girl twins on April 9th. I had some cramps over the weekend and on Sunday one of my legs swelled up to 1.5 times the other leg. We went to the doctor on Monday for a check up and he scheduled an emergency c-section for noon that day! c-section was not bad but recovery is a bit more difficult.
Babies arrived at 35w3d at 5.3 lbs and 5.5 lbs. We are dealing with jaundice and latching problems. No need to mention lack of sleep.
By the way, congrats to Rittie and RileyDee too.
Take care of your bellies and babies ladies :)

Ah Demi, Congrats! I knew you were going to beat me there. You did great though Mama, good weights. What are you precious one's names? Good luck getting some sleep and with the jaundice and latching problems. Hang in there!

Anna, what a big boy you have! It sounds like things are going well for you. No baby bore here, we love to hear about it. Isn't that what we are all here for? Do you have your bathroom yet? I am so impressed that you are getting 6 straight hours of sleep per night. I may be coming to you for help if I can't get any sleep.

I know I am the queen of posting now. Sorry that you ladies have to see my ramblings every time you log on  . I'm going nutty here and ready to meet this little girl.

Take good care everyone.

Congratulations Demi on the arrival of your twins. They are similar weights to ours and must be so lovely. Good luck with looking after them. Our babies also had mild jaundice but it cleared itself up after a few days of placing their cots near the window for day light. We also have latching problems so now we feed formula and whatever express milk I can muster. Elizabeth is now over 6lbs and Angeline is getting there so I am not hung up about not being able to breast feed at all. Their daddy actively participate in milk preparation and feeding time is really sweet and nice when all four of us are on the bed cooing and feeding.

Anna, I am so happy to hear how well you are looking after your little one. I can't imagine picking up a 9lb baby at the moment. Your baby is a third bigger than mine - wow, isn't this mind blowing.... I am impressed that you're getting your 6 hour sleep. But of course I am not moaning considering we're getting 6-7 hours in 2-3 hour chunks which is not bad.

Lucy, good luck with the wait. Its not long to go now. Can't wait to hear the good news about the arrival of your little girl.

Lots of love
Rittie

Hi ladies,

Hope you are all well. I've uploaded some pics of Elizabeth & Angeline to Photobucket as per Lucy's suggestion. Please feel free to have a look...

http://s6.photobucket.com/albums/y222/ivfgroup/

How are the new mother's coping? We are doing alright but Elizabeth has taken to crying extremely loudly for an hour at a time in the early evenings. It is very frsutrating particularly as we know they are fed, changed, burped, and generally well. She queitens when we carry her around. She screams again as soon as we put her down or even sit down ourselves while craddling her. Appreciate it if anyone has any recommendation for handling this. Its hard particularly when Angeline also rouse at the same time.

Good luck to the remaining mums-to-be. Please keep us posted on your progress.

Lots of love
Rittie

Hi Ladies, hope everyone Ok. Our thread seems very quiet these days. Probably due to our little ones taking up all of our time!

I hope everyone is enjoying being a mum, despite the 3am feeds and what seems like hundreds of nappy changes a day.

Demi, many congrats to you. Hope all is going well and the jaundice and latching problems are sorted.

Rittie, Matthew sometimes does the crying thing in the evening. There doesn't seem to be anything wrong, he is fed, winded, clean and warm tc..then when we pick him up he stops crying! Lat night we put him in the baby carrier and Dp walked him round the garden and that did the trick, maybe the fresh air and the close contact, I don't know, he settled after that. A few days ago putting him in his bouncer did the trick. I suppose it will continue to be trial and error. We are always willing to try anything.

Matthew and I are off to lunch with Dp this afternoon. We are planning on a riverside pub and to sit and enjoy the sunshine. Matthew now weighs 10lb 7ozs and is a real chubster!

Hugs to all here
take care of those bumps and bundles

Hi all!

Anna - just popping in to see how you were doing! Matthew sounds great and it's lovely to see you getting on so well. Aren't they just adorable! I just cannot remember what life was like beforehand! Not really sure what I did with my time!

I noticed someone asking about the evening "crying period". Very common I'm afraid and it's funny - Charlie just seemed to stop one day although I don't actually remember it?????? However I found that music was my saviour during those periods. The louder the better!!!!! Oh and it didn't matter what it was! I have no idea why, but that's what worked for us (and I remember being up for any suggestions!!!)

Have fun all!

She's here! After a visit to the doctor last Friday we were sent in for an induction due to low fluid levels. They induced and I labored for 21 hours before she finally decided to join us. She was stuck and they were planning to try the vacuum before doing a c-section. After a break from pushing we tried one last time and she was born! I lost a lot of blood because we couldn't get the placenta out for over an hour, but it all worked out in the end.

Stella June was born on Saturday, April 28th at 9:26 am. She was 7lbs, 4oz and 19 1/2 in long. She is perfect!

I'll post photos on photobucket today. Rittie, your girls are gorgeous. I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying their little ones. Will write more soon... time to feed (again).
