I am about to embark on my first embryo transfer. I had 3 embryos frozen and hope 1 will be transferred at the end of next week. My problem is smoking. I have been on one a day for the past 9 months or so but am a wreck at the moment and having 3 a day. convinved myself it is ok because eggs in the freezer so i cant damage them. honest opinion required as to whether stopping completely when i have had the transfer is too late and the damage is done.....

Hi!
Yea I too am a smoker also trying to give up. I did cut down to one or two smokes during ifv. When my cycle was cancelled I was so stressed that all I wanted was a smoke.
I was a smoker when I fell pregnant with my son (ten yrs ogo). I found out at two months that I was pregnant then gave up (until he was born). My son turned out fine so I really think there is nothing to worry about. My friend has five children, smoked through all the pregnancies and all her children are healthy! Not that I am saying that it is ok.
I wouldn't worry!
All the best!

My RE said she wouldn't even treat me if I didn't stop smoking. Said that the smoke really hurts the lining of your uterus and can affect implantation rates. She said if I needed to switch to chewing tobacco that was fine as it wasn't the nicotine that hurt but the smoke. Couldn't see myself with a big chaw in my mouth, so I just quit.
I know it's a horrible thing to do---I was a pack a day smoker at the time. That was almost 1 year ago and I haven't had 1 cigarette since that day in her office. I don't know if it's the answer or not, but I couldn't rationalize spending all of this money to make my biggest dream come true and not give it my absolute best shot.
Hope that didn't sound too preachy! I wish you all the best of luck!
