Sugarmama, yes, usually everyone is put to sleep. The procedure time will depend on how many eggs you have, but usually they say 30 minutes to an hour at most. Alot depends on any problems, etc... it will go quick, and you will be fine. Get lots of eggies!

Hi Girls!!

Susan....I am so sorry, I was really hoping for a BFP for you, I feel so bad. I hope you can take your time and come back at the end of the year (or earlier if you feel ready), I wish you all the best with your 5 frosties!!

Donna....congratulations!!!!!, that is so great!!!, it is definitely a BFP!!!. I can't wait until your final results!!

Christine....so sorry you are not feeling good, these meds really play with our minds, it sucks, I really hope though that in your case it means that you are pg!!!!!

BWHD.....I understand when you say that your 2ww is going slow, I know the same will happen to me, no matter how much I work, it will be the slowest 2 weeks of my life!!!!!. Don't worry about the scan, it won't hurt your embies, they wouldn't do it otherwise, hang in there....

Jodi.....good luck tomorrow with your ER!!!. Don't worry about it, in my case I didn't feel a thing, they put me to sleep and I woke up everything was done, so don't worry at all!!!

Jackie.....congrats on your ET!!!!, hope those 3 babies are getting comfi inside mommy

As per me...I went on Saturday for my scan and bw to make sure everything was ok, and they said everything was fine and gave me the ok for Thursday ET!!!!!! :o , I am soooooooo anxious about it!!!. The only thing is that I am on PIO twice a day until ET, and my butt is really hurting  . Are any of you guys on PIO twice a day too??......

Hi Girls,
I had my ER today and I am soooooooo sore, they took out 20 eggs, and I had to have a painkiller shot in my butt at the doc office because I could't even walk! I feel a little better now but it still hurts and there is pressure everywhere and i can barely move, but I am in good spirits. I am worried that if i am sick like this, than they won't be able to do the trasfer and we will just have to freeze the embies. I was put to sleep, the procedure was about 30 to 45 min , I was extremely nervous but the anasthesiologist was great! Overall the procedure is easy , the recovery is a different story, at least for me.
They will call me with the results tomorrow, but so far the nurse said that out of 20 eggs 12 were mature and the ther ones she said will mature overnight.
Thank you so so much for your support!!!!

Ok, a quick update. Sorry I have been away for a while. We have been so busy!! I have also been working alot, and DP doesn't do the computer so. . ..
We STILL have no BFP or AF. I am really getting anxious and confused. We did at home AI on April 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5th. AF was due on the 19th. She is still not here and there are no symptoms either way other than really sore and tender bbs. DP called the dr. today and they faxed a script to the lab by her work. She will be getting her blood drawn tomorrow. But it is really weird. She is never late and really not stressing near as much as I am right now. I was going to blame it on stress but she is really ok. She just wants either the BFP or AF to show at this point. Something that says we can move on, in either direction.
Her cycles are usually pretty regular, she has been right on time for several years now.
Any suggestions???

bigwhitehapydog - I didn't have an HCG shot on ET day so this weekend will be a couple of days before my test - so hopefully I will have some idea if I home test. My 37th birthday is Sunday so if I get a negative result that wouldn't be the best day for it:) But I'm trying to keep an even keel about the whole thing. We got lucky the first time we did IVF since it took on the first try. I wish you the very best and hope the 2ww goes by as quick as possible for you and that you also get a BFP!

Vlada - the hardest part is over now! Good for you! Lots of eggies! Praying for many embies and a sucessful ET!

Vicki - sorry you have to do those shots twice a day! I find it hard enough to do it once a day in the butt. Best of luck to you for sticky embies for your ET on Thursday.

Jodi - Best wishes for many eggies from you ER tomorrow. They generally put you in a light sleep - not heavy sedation - but you are asleep and it takes anywhere from 30-60 minutes depending how many follicles and if it goes smoothly. You will be just fine! Good luck!

Take Care everyone!

Love,
Christine

Vlada - I was really weak and sick after my ER as well. We were on the border line of freezing all the embries and it was rather scary thought.

Take all the rest that you need at the moment & be patient with your body as it may need few days to recover. Wishing you quick recovery and safe ET soon.

2WW budies - how are you ladies feeling?

I've been reading your posts and they are all so different. I've been having daily light twitching/cramping and had a stronger a bit like period pain at night 2 days ago... Got really worried :(

I'm staying positive as Testing is on Friday and its only few days away!!! decided to stay away from evil H/preg tests till then.

Warm wishes to all......

Sorry for the me post but i will come back and do some personals later. I am thinking of you all.

Daly did you do a test yesterday???

Well feel a bit better today have had a good cry yesterday and tried to stay away from phone as much as possible. This morning my Dr telephoned as he thinks that we should do FET ASAP due to all the Humeria injections i have had and would have to have prior to next Tx. i was really taken a back with this and was not expecting it. Phoned DH and he thinks that if i am feeling up to it then we should go for it. So we now have an appointment with my DR tomorrow to discuss FET on this cycle. Thur Dr did say he would only do it if i felt emotionally able to do it an I know that i am not at the moment but in the couple of weeks i should be able to feel a bit better. It has also given me something to focus on. so my break that i was intending to have may be no longer!!!!! We will make out decision tomorrow. James and I did say that we were not going to do anymore fresh cycles so this would be our last chance ( we made this decision back at the first cycle that we would only do 3 fresh cycles). I think for me it is very important to put a limit on it as it could go on and on and physically and emotionally my body cant take much more. Some times we just have to except it even though it is hard.

Susan, I totally agree with you about putting the limit. Your emotions can only handle so much. (and your body) IVF is a traumatic thing to go through. This is my last cycle as well. When we started we decided we would only do the 2 cycles my insurance company would pay for, as we did 3 out of pocket before that and were in debt forever! I didn't want to go there again. Plus the emotional strain was awful. When I stopped the last time, I was only planning on stopping for a short period of time. Once I did, I was like a new person, not worrying, not going through all the emotions. IVF was not the only thing on my mind 24 hours a day. It was amazing. Like a huge boulder just fell off. It felt so good to just live a normal life and be happy, that I didn't try again until now! 16 darn years later. HEEEE HHHEEEE We thought about it several times, and I was just like "NO, I don't want to go through all of that again" and.... here I am. But.. I said two cycles and that's it. I will stop after this if I don't get pregnant. I feel after two, It's just the time to stop and accept, and move on with your life for me. I'm not willing to put myself back where I was 16 years ago, where my whole being was all about IVF and having a baby. I think you're a very strong person for feeling that way, as hard as it is to give up your dream.

I'm praying for your FET to succeed, and I'll be thinking of you constantly. Good luck!

Susan - Many blessings to you and your DH when you decide to to do the FET. We all know how emotionally draining and often financially the whole process can be. You have 5 embies and I pray that they bring you your much wanted angel.

Susan & Janice - I totally agree with your decisions on when to call it quits with the whole process. I am extremely grateful that after 5 years I was able to have a beautiful, healthy daughter. So that has made this time a little different emotionally. We will go the 3 rounds we have been approved for and then after that - we probably will call it quits as well. We have not been fortunate enough to have any embies to freeze so we have to go with fresh cycles each time. It definitely takes a toll on the body and mind. I admire you both and everyone going through this as many or as few times as you all have. Praying that the sucess rate goes up to tilt the scales to more positive results. I wish you all the very best chances of becoming mothers.

Vlada - I had 20 eggs retrieved when I did my first IVF in 2005. It was quite painful but worth the odds it gave us to get 2 good embies (one became our daughter). Take great care to get as much rest as possible. Hope you recover enough to get the ET done soon. You did great!

Hopeful2007 - Best wishes for a BFP on 4/27!

Kate26 - It is normal to feel pressure in your lower tummy since the meds are making multiple follicles grow in your ovaries which is a lot more than if you were ovualting on your own. I felt more pressure as I got closer to the ER date since I had 16 this time and 26 the last time. Hang in there. You will see the reason for the pressure when you have your scans. Good luck!

Daly - We hope to hear from you soon. Take Care!

Love,
Christine
