after 8 yrs of trying 2failed ivf 1 m/c and 2 miracles
I had 14 eggs retrieved.
9 were mature.
9 fertilized.
9 made it to day 3 so we went to blast.
5 made it to day 5 blastocyst
2 were put back in me
3 are frozen
Positive results, will find out next week if both took or just on beanie in there.
During my first cycle I had 9 follicles. They collected 7 eggs- four were mature and and the rest were not. They did ICSI on all of them and four fertilized. I only got to transfer one because the lab accidentally threw away the rest and so I got a BFN. Hoping for a better outcome this cycle! Good luck to you.
I'm not sure why my numbers are like this but I had. . . .49 eggs collected. . . yes 49! Out of that 46 were good and 36 fertilized. Then they put 3 in and 26 left were good quality and we froze them all.
I'm a machine in the egg department it's just too bad my tubes could care less!
Geckogirl~ Did we read that they threw your embies away????? I am horrified to hear that. How did they do that??

On our last cycle we were informed on the day of transfer that there had been a lab accident and that the head of embriology (sp?) wanted to talk to us. He explained that there was one egg bigger than the rest and he thinks that several of the other eggs got stuck behind it in the pipette they used to transfer the fertilized eggs from one petri dish to another on day 2. Only one made it to the second dish. They assured us that all the other people's dishes had been checked and accounted for so they know they didn't accidentally transfer them to anyone else. Anyway, we were absolutely horrified. I cried and cried. In compensation my doctor demanded that they do a free cycle for us - the one I am in now. If they cannot duplicate the number of viable embryos that I produced last time we will probably have to hire a lawyer to ensure us some compensation. That would be a shame because I adore my doctor. It is just the lab that screwed up. Anyway, we are hoping for the best. As if this process isn't stressful enough, right?!?!?!?
Yikes, hope I'm replying right, I haven't posted here in a while!
We did our first IVF in Feb, here's our stats, it's pretty crazy:
We had about 50-60 follicles, they triggered me solely on Lupron so I wouldn't get OHSS
We got 40 eggs
32 were mature
22 fertilized, all of them were fair except one which was good
We had a day 5 blastocycst transfer of 2 of the best ones, BFP (but it ended up being ectopic)
They froze a few that day and let the others grow till day 6, which many of the embies quality improved (I think we have 6 good ones now) and we have a total of 15 frozen embryos.
