Ok, these ads are really starting to throw me off. lol

Cat--I thought you had a new signature. lol I had to scroll back a couple of pages. lol Then I realized it was just another stupid ad.

I have a pretty noticable bump. But it's probably because two are in there. My morning sickness is pretty much gone. I'm so happy about that. But it also makes me worried about the little ones. I hope they're still okay. WE complain about the morning sickness and then worry when it goes away. Does the worrying ever stop?

Ladies....

So happy everyone is moving along smoothly. I definitely have a bump and am in maternity pants. Ironically can still wear my shirts although needed to buy new bras....DD, holy smokes!

We had our nuchal fold test yesterday and initial results look good, just waiting for confirmation from the blood work. Is anyone else planning to have an amnio? We finally got to hear heartbeats yesterday. Ladies, that is the most amazing sound you can hear. Really makes things so real.

I hope this won't sound like whining, because believe me I am so happy to be pregnant and to be having twins, but the nauseau is overwhelming. I can barely function from 4:30 pm on, can't manage dinner and throw up at night. Sorry if TMI...Anyone have any suggestions? I tried the crackers, crystalized ginger, ginger ale, nothing helps. I though 12 weeks was the magic milestone, mine has not subsided at all. HELP!

hugs,
Ange

HI Ange--Glad to hear you are doing well. SO happy for you on hearing the heartbeat! I can't wait for that. :-D

In regards to the nausea. I totally feel your pain. I had it really awful but it seems to be slowing down. A friend told me about Country Time Lemonade. She had really bad morning sickness up until the 5th month. Her midwife told her about the lemonade and it worked for her. I tried it also and it seemed to work. Any lemonade for that matter. I think it was the sourness of it. Maybe give that a try. Also, the Zofran. It's prescription strength and it's harmless to the babies. This seems to help a lot of women also. It helped me for a little while. Also, someone told me about these arm bands you can buy over the counter. They are for seasickness. They dont have any medication in them and they are not harmful. They just sit on a pressure point on your wrist and this is suppose to help with nausea. Last but not least Preggo pops or popcycles in general. I have not tried them but I have heard from others that they work. Hope this helps and I hope you feel better soon.

I'm not having the amnio or the nuchal fold tests. We're not going to abort no matter what the results are. I dont want to spend my pregnancy worrying if I get result back saying there "could" be a chance of my baby have down syndrome or anything else. I'm going to love them no matter what. So we're just going to continue to pray for healthy babies.

wannababyivf,

I'm not getting the nuchal or amino done either. I was starting to wonder if I was the only one. My OB says that CVS is still controversial and often times results come back with a possibilities that something may be wrong and the woman has to worry clear until she delivers. I was also told by my OB that the CVS is not valid for women having multiples. But I had read about it before going to my first appt and decided not to have it done because of the invasiveness of it.

Anyhow, I was starting to beat myself up because I am going by good old-fashion prayer. Regardless of Down Syndrome, etc. my husband and I were in this for the long haul and would not want to have to make the decision to abort our baby(ies). I thought maybe I was the only one out there that wasn't opting for all these tests. Thanks for making me feel better today.

Ange, I'm glad to hear that your test went so successful!! Good luck with your pregnancy as you progress!!!

Hi everyone,

I am just checking in, I have been reading the posts but haven't been posting. Not much going on. I am 12 weeks. Had a u/s last friday and got to hear the heart beat. I can't believe how much the baby is moving, it was doing flips on the u/s. I am just so relieved to get to this point. I think about how time has flew by. 3 months down. Which went really fast. I think about oh in 8 weeks I will get to know the sex, and at that time I will be 5 months. and 1/2 way through the pregnancy. And then all of a sudden it will be here. Wow, seems far, but yet not.

I have a belly, sometimes makes me wonder if there is a twin hidding, and the heartbeats are the same. I swear I have been wearing maternity clothes since I was 5/6 weeks. My scrubs at work are even getting tight. This is to early to be happening. I think it has to do with IVF, that our stomach stick out. My m/s has been gone since about 11 weeks. Which scares me at times, because I feel perfectly fine. My energy is getting better at times. I am just enjoying every moment of being pg. It still seems so unreal.

Well Just wanted to update everyone. Glad to hear everyone is doing good. Take care.

I am with you girls on the tests I don't want anything more to worry about than I already have. Although I feel like at least a thousand pounds has been lifted off my shoulders after hitting that 12weeks mark and seeing the baby be so active. I haven't gotten to hear the heartbeat since my sonos at RE. OB only has doppler and has not been able to hear it yet, not too worried though cause it is a healthy active baby, I am so anxious now for the next sono on May 17th, cause I will be almost 16weeks and we will prob be able to tell girl or boy!!!! That is my thing now. Now I know everything is OK now it is all about what is it I have taking every wise tale quiz I can and still have no idea. LOL The last one I took told me %50 Girl lol DUH you think!!! Everyone I know all says girl I have dreamed girl and dreamed boy do do not know I am ready to find out. With the two babies I lost I knew from day 1 what they were, without question, with this one I am stumped.

As for the morning sickness I cannot help much other than say when i start to feel quesy the only thing that makes it better is to eat. Immediately and that seems to make it better. maybe try not to wait so long and eat snacks .

Hi All.....

Thanks so much for all your tips on how to combat nauseau. I will try everyone of them until I find something that works.

I just wanted to clarify, that although I am having these tests done, it does not necessarily mean it will change the outcome regardless of the results. The high risk specialist recommended them because of my age and because of the fact that 7 out of 8 that had genetic testing prior to my transfer were abnormal. I am a planner and I guess the more information I have, the better I can plan for anything different or special I might need to do when my babies are born. More so than these tests, dh and I are counting on old fashion prayer as well.

So sounds like we all have baby bumps. I'm not sure who said it, but I bet you're right, that the whole IVF med protocol, etc. has something to do with it. Although I've lost 8lbs, my belly is definitely sticking out and I am in maternity pants. DH sometimes catches me trying to hold it in and yells...'let it out'! God knows why I'm holding it in, habit I guess.

Hi girls - this has been an active thread in the last 24 hours!!!

I havent been offered the nuchal scan but I think we are offered the triple blood test. I will have it as its routine but it wont change my opinion, I am having this baby no matter what. I am too attached already. Hubby talks to him (yes we think its a boy!) every night and tells him about his day and asks him what he has been up to (not much, isnt too much room in there).

Only a week and 6 days until i hit that 12 week mark now and i will feel so much better.

m/s

Post by MommyTfive »

Hi ladies, I woke up about 2 days ago and all my m/s was gone. It really has scared me. I was so disperately ill. I went from bed to couch. Then woke up and feel fine. I called my RE and demanded an appt for tomorrow morning which of course they think I am crazy. I am just really scared now. I have right at 10.5 weeks when it left. Anyone have this happened. I know it goes away but so suddenly?

Tammy I am sure it will be fine. My sickness comes and goes. I can have it for three days and have two days off and then it comes back with a vengeance!! I was really lucky as last weekend i had no symptoms at all and then monday to wednesday this week i could barely get out of bed until 12 as i felt so bad. Today I have had the odd twinge but been fine and even managed breakfast. You must remember that every pregnancy is fine. I realise from your history that you are bound to worry and you are doing the right thing seeing the doctor tomorrow but i am sure they will tell you all is fine. Chances are you will be throwing up again tomorrow.

Best of luck

HI Tammy--I agree with Cat.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. My sickness also comes and goes. I had 3 days of no sickness and then was bragging about the m/s going away and then guess what...I waited to long to eat one day and back it came. :-( SO I guess it all depends on the person. Because at first mine just went away just like that...and then three days later, it was back. I'm sure everything is fine. :-) But it's a good thing you're going to see the doctor. Nothing wrong with a little reassurance. I actually would probably have done the same thing. The funny thing is I already had an appointment scheduled for Wednesday and my m/s has been gone for 3 days prior to that. Dont you know while waiting in the doctors office...that's when it came back. :-(

New update after drs appt.

Post by MommyTfive »

Ok I went back to the dr today and they did another u/s. Everything was perfect and the baby was jumping and kicking all over the place. How amazing. All this worry for nothing. They did tell me that it was good that I came in and if I start to question anything again to just call. So I felt better. Heartrate was 183. I still think its high but the dr said no 120-180 is normal and a little above is just great. He said it will slow down as it grows. I go back next Monday and then off to the regular OBGYN. I did get my doppler in the mail today and found the heartbeat.

Hugs
