They say that you should have 100-200 per follicle....

I had 12 follies and E2 was a little high at 3100.

It should be under 100 before you start stimms.

Hope that helps.

5 days on stims e2 457

7 days on stims e2 1303
8 days on stims e2 2220
They did egg retriveal on day 11 and i had 26 eggies--25 of them mature. We ended up with 12 that fertilized perfect--transferred 2 and frooze 10. I am currently 35 weeks pg. Good luck

Hey
thanks for the reply
my E2 level was little more than 2000 on day 6 of stims. Yours was more than 2000 on day 8 but my cycle was cancelled due to the risk of ohss.
Did you have ohss also ?

Sharon2007,

My first cycle was cancelled due to hight E2 levels and chances of OHSS too, however for the second cycle i was put on a very low dose of medication (25 follisim and 75 repronex) and everything went fine from there. I did some research on E2 and found out that we should stay away from food that has a lot of pesticide and apples and pears helps to lower it. Go organic as much as you can.

thanks for the response.
Any tips to that can avoid ohss is appreciated .
Bali , i wanted to ask one more question. If the RE lowers the stims dose does it affect the number of follicles and quality too????

Sharon2007,

For this cycle that i just did, i did acupuncture treatment which i think helped a lot. after my first cycle was cancelled i did a full IVF with 10 eggs at ER and 5 was fertilized, three was transfered and it did not work, so for this cycle i did the acup. with the same dose of medication (25 follism and 75 repeonex) and got 9 eggs and 8 were fertilized and three grade 1 were transfered so i really do not think it makes much of a difference on what dose of medication you are on it depends on how our body reacts to it also you should know that both times eggs were only retrieved from one ovary because the other one is way behind my uterus.

What i think made a difference is the acupuncture and i was also drinking a lot of water, the pain after ER the second time was a lot less, in afew days i was pain free. The first time however i had terrible pain immediately after ER, i was taking three 500 tylenol every 4 hours for days.

so i think if you have not started another cycle as yet, chances are that they will lower your medication....don't worry about that as you can see how low my dosage went and still had great results.

Hope tthis is of some help to you. also try to keep away from salty stuff during the treatment and also after ET. I was drinking plenty of water, no soda or juice.

Thanks for the reply Bali
I have read that drinking fluid helps a lot like V8 and gatorade.
But as you had mentioned to avoid too much salt,so is v8 a good thing . I normally drink a cup of it daily.
What about daily products???
Any tips from you is highly appreciated.

I have heard that Gatorade and whey protein is very effective at reducing the severity of OHSS.

E2 of 2000 is not that high in itself, but it sounds like it was rising fast. Byt the time of trigger it would have been much higher. Maybe 5,000 to 10,000.

One way to avoid OHSS is to not use hCG for the trigger. If you are down regulated with Ganirelix, for example, then they can trigger with Lupron instead of hCG. But if you are already down regged with Lupron (as most are), then you can't use Lupron for the trigger. Won't work that way. If you use Lupron for down regulation, then you are pretty much stuck with hCG for the trigger.

Technically, there is one other option for the trigger (Luveris, which is just LH), but it comes in little 75IU vials, so it might require over a hundred vials. Probably not practical except in extreme cases.

Best of luck to you.

If your clinic does Lupron triggers in Ganirelix cycles, then cancelation for OHSS should be very unlikely. I've never seen a report of significant OHSS after Lupron trigger, even in extremely high responders.

I don't know whether they will trigger with lupron or hcg.But I know that my pharnacy has got the prescription for hcg .
Last time i had started from 300 iu follistim for 3 days . My E2 level spiked. This time it is 150 iu for 2 days then ultrasound.
I feel 150 iu is still high for me .I might be thinking this because i am very afraid this time.I don't want this cancellation thing to happen to me again.
It is so frustarting to return from half way and restart.
