Donna,
My 1st beta was 779 at 10 days after 5 day transfer & 1958 2 days later.

Cookholmes & Quita,
You both read my mind. I am wondering too how miserable it might be with twins(although very worth it.) I have heard people have difficulty breathing, sleeping etc. My biggest baby was 9.5 lbs 22" long. I am 5'6" 110. I could feel her kicking me all the way to my top ribs. It was weird.

Hopeful,
Congrats & welcome!!!!
Clarissa,
Any news on your scan?

Hi Ladies, I hope you have room for another December baby. I had IVF in March and I am 7 weeks pregnant and due on 12/13/07. I just got through my second US and the baby's growth and heartbeat look good and they have released me to my OB. So now that I believe that it is real I'd like to hop on board with you. I just have one embie inside......the thought of twins scared the heck out of me so I am thankful for 1. With all of the Dec. twins I will be interested to see how you do.
I have a 1.5 y/o boy from IVF and he is the light of our life! After such struggles to get pregnant you really appreciate these little ones! My husband and I are both 39 (soon to be 40) so this will be our last child.

I get to wean off of estrace so I'm hoping some of my belly bloat will go down. I have to stay on the progesterone shots until week 10. I can no longer wear many of my pants......anyone else having this trouble so early?? I don't remember this from the last pregnancy but they say the second time around you expand faster. Anyone else with heartburn? I have never had it before and I did not experience it with my last pregnancy. Any natural remedy advice would be appreciated.

Take care and good luck to those with upcoming scans!

YEAH!! Ivfmom, we have the same due date! :)

I can't wear my pants either, every week they are tighter. I think Dr. Wing will take me off the PIO shots May 7th when I go back.

pixiesmom, glad to know you are on these shots too. Misery loves company!

cookholmes, for our anniversary we are keeping it low key. DH planned a nice dinner at Oceanaire, but I am not too keen on seafood. It is too hard to figure out what is okay vs not okay. So, we have to change our reservations, but other than that nothing too exciting!! We have present enough just being pregnant!!! :)

IVFmomof1, welcome to our group!

Reward, I do not blame you on wanting a different restaurant. I get so paranoid about everything and let's not add what my (Colombian) mom tells me about superstitions and weird foods. She told me that I need to eat all the food I crave for, or I will have a strange birthmark on my baby in the shape of the food that I did not get. And she told me not to look at dead animals because it can affect my baby?!?!?!? Some of the things she has told me are just strange...

Quita & Cook,
You are both cracking me up!!! I can picture Quitas pants popping open & Cookholmes terrified to look at dead animals & enormous because you can't avoid any cravings  I am sure you know none of that's true but, if it comes from your mom you still consider it don't you? Don't feel bad we all look away from roadkill. I don't think it's good for anyone

Quita, Congrats on your fetuses!!!!
It makes me feel better seeing you symptoms. I have been very scared of not having m/s. Boobs are huge. I have a little bump. Hungry one minute & if I don't eat right away. I lose my appetite & don't have much room for food. I am still very scared!!! I don't want to be scared but, I kepp hearing how it's a better pregnancy with m/s & I didn't have any with my last one either

:(

ivfmomof1,
Congrats!!! I hope you have a great 8 months ahead of you!!! My due date was 12/12 so, are babies are the same age but, I have a new due date for my twins 11/21. They are still the same age though :D I too am very bloated. It makes my husband & kids happy because I look more like I am "showing" more then I really am.

Hey Everyone -

Lola Jes Sarah Jazemine Tams – Good luck on your scan this week. Can’t wait to hear all about it.

Hopeful2007 IVFmomof1 – Welcome…congratulations on your BFP!

My scan on Friday was amazing. The whole experience made the pregnancy so real. I was questioning myself daily if I even was pregnant because I would have symptoms one day and no symptoms the next day. Well when we got to our appointment, sonographer explained to us what would happen at our appointment – we would see the position of the embryo, see the heartbeat and will see if there is 1 or 2 embryos. He said he would know right away if is there is 1 or 2. DH and I were very nervous and excited. DH was holding my hand and was very close to the bed right next to me. He stuck the probe in, and it was the most amazing site we had seen…it was 2 placentas with 2 babies…we are having TWINS!!! We saw the flicker of the heartbeats - awesome! Babies are doing great.

Baby 1 is 9.8 mm and HB is 142/min
Baby 2 is 9.2 mm and HB is 133/min.

I originally calculated my due date incorrectly. I was using conception date. My due date is now December 14th. And I am a little over 7 weeks. Friday was my last appointment with the specialist. I had tears in my eyes as I gave each of the staff a hug. My first appointment with my OB is this Friday 5/4. Doc said my progesterone was high so they lowered my progesterone from 2 daily to 1 daily for 5 days. So this Tuesday will be the last progesterone I take. That’s it for now. Take care and have a great week.

COngrats Clarissa! I am just in shock that so many are having twins. WOW! I am so excited for Wednesday I could burst!

I have not been feeling so great lately. ANyone else feel like crap 24 hours a day? I can barely eat anything from the nausea but I can drink fluids with out being sick. I can handle the fact that I am exhausted but this nausea is nuts!

Hope all are doing well!!

Clarissa, that is fantastic news - I can't believe the number of twins this cycle!!!

I am loving the stories of symptoms and paranoia's - I have become totally obsesssed about not getting food poisoining, I am burning everything to a cinder just in case. I also can't sit up without levering myself up with my arms (and looking about 9 months pregnant in the process). Quita, I also hate wearing a seat belt around my waist and car bumps............. I am hoping that some of these obsessions will go away once we've had the first scan and hopefully seen the heartbeat (only 4 sleeps to go!). I also find the coming and going of symptoms like sore breasts most disconcerting - I am happy when they're sore and worried when they're not. ... my mental health is a little tenuous at present!!

My DH and I were supposed to be going to see the parents in law next week but the clinic recommended that we didn't fly in the first 12 weeks especially as I've had some spotting and previously had a m/c. We've cancelled the flights, (I'd rather not add something else to be worry list!), has anyone else had this advice??

Clarrisa – Twins, everyone seems to be having twins around here lately, you must be so please, and to finally get to see them both, it must be amazing, roll on next week I cant wait.

Jes – sorry to hear your not feeling to well, I still have no signs of m/s in fact no symptoms at all apart from feeling constantly tired. Hope you feel better soon.

IVFmomof1 and Hopeful - welcome to the group and congratulation on your BFPs

Q- how you doing? Love your symptoms, wish I had some. From your stats you sound tiny, my god everyone will see your belly before you. I only get one scan with my clinic then off to own GP. Do you know when your next scan will be, my GP doesn’t even put you in contact with a midwife, I have to find my own!! Congrats on your fetuses.

Denise – don’t you just love the old wives tales, some of the things my grandmother and mum are telling me doesn’t half make me lol.

Tams – know the feeling about sore boobs, mine come and go, just wish they would stay sore at least then I would have one symptom. Not long until your scan, you must be getting all excited now.

The flying thing is worrying me as I have to fly to Europe for a wedding, really don’t know what to do, some girls on here say their clinic has said it fine but just read your post and yours say not to fly. So confused, will have to ask mine at my scan next week.

Hope everyone else are all doing just fine.

Hi ladies, Thanks for the good laughs! Wow Clarissa another set of twins!!!! Congrats!!! Now I'm starting to feel left out with only one!
Like most of you my breast tenderness comes and goes, my belly is bloated out way more than it should be, fatigue is killing me. Luckily I have not had any significant nausea. I can't get into my OB until May 11th so this will be my longest stretch without any updates on my embie  This may be as bad as the 2WW!
I am flying near the middle of May and I was told it was fine. They told me that they did not recommend frequent flying in the first trimester but that 1-2 trips was fine. I have to go for a conference so it's not optional.
I flew with my first pregnancy with no problems and I could not find anything in the literature showing any problems with flying. I guess it just needs to be a personal decision and limit your trips as much as possible.

Best wishes to those going for scans this week.......Seeing that heartbeat(s) is the greatest miracle.

Hi girls, hope everybody had a great weekend!!

Quita- I wouldn’t worry about the flying. I've been told that it's not a problem until much later in pregnancy. I'm sure you will be just fine but hopefully your doctor can calm your fears at your scan next week.

Tams- I was feeling super paranoid as well but after seeing the heart beat I feel much better. I am sure I will still worry through the whole pregnancy but isn't that what parenthood is all about?!? So anxious for your scan, not too much longer!

Jessica- Sorry to hear you aren't feeling well. It really started to kick in for me at 6 weeks as well but the past few days I've felt a little better so hang in there. I think once you near the end of the first trimester like weeks 10-12 it tapers off. Have you found anything that works for the nausea? The only thing that helps me is to make sure my stomach is never empty. Even though I don't feel like eating I force myself to and then I end up feeling better.

Clarissa- Congratulations!!! Lots of twins on this board! You're so lucky you already get to see your OB on the 4th. I don't see mine until May 15th. That seems like years away!!!

Pixiesmom- I'm jealous you have no m/s! Consider yourself one of the lucky ones!! And I'm jealous you have a little bump. I have a teeny tiny one but I can still fit in my normal pants (granted they are a bit tight) I can't wait until my belly is nice and big!!!

Quita- I read that same thing on pregnancy.org last week and was excited. I feel like now that the baby is no longer an embie it's more real for some reason. Weird I know!!!

Denise- Those superstitions your mom has are hilarious!!! Uh-oh, I just saw road kill (yuck) on the way to work this morning and I looked at it. Next time I will have to cover my eyes, even when driving!!!

Reward- So you are still on the shots? Ouch!!! Sounds like just one more week to go and then you can give your bum a chance to heal!

Ivfmom- Welcome to the group! And the fact that you already have one ivf miracle is so awesome!!

Well, as for me, things are going well. I don't know if I mentioned that after last week's ultrasound I was released to my ob/gyn? I have an appointment tomorrow with his nurse where she will go over my schedule and fill our paperwork, etc. And then on May 15th I will have my first appointment with my doctor. Another 2ww, yet again…they never end!!

So I have a question, have you all started telling people yet? So far we have told our parents and a few other family members but other than that not many people know. Now that we've had two ultrasounds and I've been released I feel like I could start telling people. What do you girls think? Just curious…

Kia and IVFmom, don't worry about the flying, most of my friends have also flown in their pregnancies, I think they are just being ultra cautious because of my spotting and previous m/c, also I would only have been just 7 weeks, I think the nearer you are to the 12 weeks the better. Just make sure your DH's or work colleagues are there to put your luggage in the overhead locker and take snacks! I have some low level nausea which goes away when I eat however as I am only feeling like very unhealthy things I thought I'd try some seasickness bands - am wearing them right now and look like something out of Fame! - I'll let you know how they work for me, so far my nausea seems to have turned into indigestion.

Steph, I had thought we might tell a few other people near the 12 wk mark because we have a couple of events where my lack of drinking (and worryingly already bloated stomach!) is going to make it pretty obvious anyway. One is at 10 wks the other 11 - assuming we get that far. What stage are you now? Once you've had a couple of scans which look good I'm sure it means all is going well - I've read that once a heartbeat's been detected 94% of pregnancies go to term which sounds like pretty good odds to me!
