We have had one cycle of IVF, two cycles of ICSI and one FET. all failed We have the chance to go to a clinic that does immunology testing, but have to wait 8 weeks for an initial consultation. Has anyone else had immunology testing and found it to be beneficial?
Or do we go with the old clinic that does not do the testing, but could start ICSI sratight away. The consultant there recommended steroids and extra HCG injections to help inplantation. I am not sure what to do. Please help
I am sorry for your lost and certainly understands how you feel. I have had three fresh cycles with ISCI, all have been BFN. I am currently in the 2WW from my FET. I did the APA test (antiphosilipid antibodies) and is on heparin and asprin during this cycle. Additionally, I did assisted hatching, fertility accupuncture, and took steriod for 4 days post transfer. I will let me know if all the extra effort work. It is such an emotional roller coaster, so I understand what you are going through. It is hard, but I would prefer to take a holistic approach and know exactly what I am working with.
Best of luck to you.
Hi Kylie!
I have had a similar history. Six attempts - 2 cancelled and 4 complete fresh cycles (all with ICSI). I had two chemical pregnancies from those and 2 BFN. This most recent cycle which resulted in a chemical pregnancy made me start to wonder if there is something wrong with me. At this point, I'd rather rule that out before continuing down this road. I switched clinics after my 3 complete cycle and did my last one with the new clinic. When I went in for my review appointment my RE decided to do some testing on me - up to this point it has just been a male factor problem. So, I am getting a sonohysterogram and the immunology testing.
My appointment for the immunology testing isn't until June 6th but I figured that it is worth the wait and hopefully I won't have to endure another BFN or chemical! If everything comes back completely normal then my RE said that will test her something too and will help her determine how to treat me.
My understanding that the immunology testing are generally blood tests so after the initial consultation it is pretty quick - do I understand that correctly or should I prepare myself to wait awhile after my June 6th appointment?
Best of luck with your decision!
Kelly
