Help..Progesterone question

Post by Michellyn8 »

Hi,

I just had my transfer today. My dh was giving me my progesterone shot and forgot to pull back to check for blood. Well he must have hit something because I bled quite a bit. I am nervous that I won't get enough of the progesterone. I called my clinics after hours # but they are not calling me back. It was 1 cc injected. Should we do another injection? If it wasn't the day of the transfer I wouldn't be so nervous. Has anyone had this situation?

Thank you,

Michelle

Michellyn,
Don't worry, you got all the progesterone you need, it went ito the muscle, so the blood that came out did't contain 1cc of progesterone, you are fine.

Nothing to worry about, this will happen more thn once. The first time I started bleeding heavy from the injection, I called my Dr. as well and he asked if we pulled back to see if I hit a vessle. The entire 10 weeks my hubby never pulled back and injected 1CC daily, I averaged at least once a week of hitting a vessle and now I am 12 weeks and stopped the progesterone cold turkey at 10 weeks without a problem.

Michellyn - did you do an FET or a fresh cycle? With an FET, your body is not making any progesterone on its own and your pegnancy is fully supported by the artificial meds for a few weeks. The other ladies are probably right, but if you had an FET you may want to do another shot, just to be safe. I bleed alot from the shots and even have some of the progesterone run out sometimes, but most of the time you get what you need. Good luck on your 2ww!!!
