Hi Everyone! Hope you are all staying positive!

I had an u/s yesterday (day 9 of stims) and my follies are still small. Seven are around 11-12 mm and the rest are 9mm and below. I am not sure if they will catch up or not. The doctor said they sometimes do but didn't want to count on it. Anyway, it looks like I will be on stims for at least two days longer than last cycle. I am not sure why but my doctor doesn't seem to be worried. I see her again on Monday (day 12 of stims). I sure hope I can trigger on Monday or Tuesday night! I will keep you posted.

Rady - It sure looks like we are on the same schedule. What are your follie sizes? Let us know how it goes tomorrow.

How's everyone doing with their cycles? I had my baseline u/s yesterday and they found multiple small cysts on my left ovary... they said I shouldn't be concerned since they're small and I started my stims last night (they HURT!!!). Anyone else have experience with starting IVF despite multiple cysts?

Thanks, Stephanie

Hi Stephanie,

The exact thing happened to me this IVF cycle. They saw one cyst on my baseline u/s but since my estrogen levels were under 50 they let me start anyway. I was really worried that the cycle would be cancelled, But by the time I had the first u/s after starting stims, the cyst had totally disappeared. I would trust them. If they aren't worried, you shouldn't be. As far as the stims hurting, is it at the injection site? I found that the Gonal F was fine but the Repronex leaves a bruise. You can try icing the site before you inject. I hear that works for a lot of people. Take care and keep us posted.

Rady - Awesome news! I hope your retrieval tomorrow goes well. Be sure to keep us posted.

I had a scan this morning (day 12 of stims) and my follies are still not very big. I have 10 between 12-15mm. My doctor said I could only stim for one more day because after that the use of stims reduces egg quality. I am really scared that they aren't going to be mature enough by retrieval. I thought I was doing so well with so many eggs but it looks like a poor response after all. I just hope we don't have to cancel after all this work!

Hi - I had another u/s today and finally my follies are growing. I have follies at 18, 17, 17, 16. 4 at 14.5 and a bunch 13 and under. I don't know if the smaller ones will catch up but I am triggering tonight and retrieval will be on Thursday. It is strange how cycles vary. Last time I had fewer eggs but stimmed only 10 days, this time I have more follies but had to stim 13 days. Also, my doctor is talking about a possible 2 day transfer. Has anyone ever heard of this? Why only two days? Last time I transfered on day 3.

Rady - Awesome egg collection!!!!! I just know one (or more) of them will be snuggling in for the next 8 months!! Keep us posted.

Take care everyone!

Hi everyone,

Rady- congrats on all the eggs retrieved... keep us up to date on fertilization results

Gecko- Good luck with retrieval on Thursday

I had my day 3 ultrasound on Monday and I already have 20 follicles-all under 10mm. They took me off the Gonal-F, so now I'm just on the repronex. I'm due for my day 5 ultrasound in 2 hours so I'm just keeping my fingers crossed! If all goes to "schedule" my retrieval will be on DH's birthday! So far I feel great, though my abdomen hurts a bit when I work out due to all the bruising and welts on my stomach!

Good luck everyone, Stephanie

Rady- congrats on the fertilization results- the numbers are amazing! Keep us posted!

Second ultrasound today was good- many follicles; most are between 9-12 mm. They stopped my Gonal-F the other day and now I'm starting it again at half the dose. Does anyone know the optimum size for the follicles- is it between 15-18? If everything is going to plan, looks like my ER will be on DH's birthday with ET on Mother's Day (hopefully these are good signs- which I'm looking for everywhere now)!

Rady,

I noticed that you are I are about the same age and this is the first IVF for both of us. I was wondering how many embryos your RE is letting you transfer? My DH and I both want two, but the RE is adament for only one (hoping I can convince him for two since it is the patient's right).
