How many had due date adjusted?

Post by cowgirlclass »

I was wondering how many IVF patients get there due dates adjusted early in Pregnancy? I know a couple of the ladies in my summer group the doctor's adjusted their due dates based on early growth and that would normally be done in a regular pregnacy. But I was wonder how many woman had their due dates adjusted early on.

Take care everyone!

When I first found out I was pregnant, the IVF clinic told me I was due 28th of Oct.

But once I started seeing my OB, she changed it to the 26th. No big difference but still... you just can't ever know, right? LOL

My nurse told me that my due date is 8/6. My doctor says 8/4. I like to say that I'm due 8/4. It makes it seem a bit sooner. :)

I might be a little different since mine was a natural conception that snuck in between ivf attempts, but...I think they are going to adjust mine a whole week or so. She measured a week smaller at the last ultrasound so we're going back in two weeks to remeasure. The doctor said it was totally normal and as long as she shows good growth there's nothing to worry about and we'll just change due dates. I still worry though...

Due dates are most accurate when calculated in the first trimester, when all babies grow at about the same rate. Using crown-rump length (CRL) is the best way to date a pregnancy. A general rule of thumb is that dating in the first trimester is accurate to within about 1 week, in the second trimester to within about 2 weeks, and the third within about three weeks. Due dates are also fairly arbitrary, and clinicians are tending toward a so-called delivery "window" so as not to nail down a specific date. I think that will be a very hard sell to women who need a goal!

sdmtb--Thanks for the explanation! It made me feel a lot better about her "small size". I know rationally that things are going fine, but you still can't help but worry, you know. Everyone thinks I'm nuts. Oh well. Thanks again!

Aaa Mego, I see we're worrying about the same thing....At my nuchal test Noggin was measuring small for his age (but still within normalish limits). I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since.....Fee

It's horrible, isn't it? It's like I think I've got it out of my mind and then "boom" I'm right back to worrying about her. It's really driving me nutso. I wish I could just be a normal person about this, but I can't seem to stop. Oh well...one more week and three days until my next ultrasound! When's your next appointment, Fee?

18 and a half long days away....I wish I could blinking relax as well, I'm going mental here. The stupid thing is, as soon as I stop worrying about one thing (e.g nuchal test) then something else crops up...totally irrational I know. I'm just wondering what kind of basket case parent I will be. I don't think that Noggin will be allowed to get a driving licence....Fee

Hi,

My due dates were brought forward by 4 days as the babies have been bigger on last 2 scans. I think it is quite common.
