Hi Girls,

Well the news is good... We saw two little blobs (thats what I think they look like on our scan pic) with a little heart beat each, and I can't believe it, we're having twins. DH and I are so pleased. It seems more real now. Now in the next wait for our 12 week scan, oh its just one wait after another.

Elaine, how did your scan go? I hope you have great news too.

You two take care now.

Love maggie.xx
Wow Maggie,
That is great news. I hope to be joining u tomorrow.

Rest and enjoy you pregnancy.

Love and Luck
Mandy.xxxxxxxxxxxxx
Hi Maggie

Congratulations thats fantastic news. We just had the one but everything was fine with a strong heartbeat. I agree they look like blobs.

It's a bit late so I'll post again at the weekend.

Good luck Mandy tomorrow

Love Elaine
Well, well, well, How marvelous, Maggie!

I so thrilled for you! I think I'm beginning to relax now and take it quite easy - DH's parents have told me to take time out and just do nothing - no housework, cooking, cleaning, anything. I'm doing just that enjoying every minute of it - even with all the commotion in the kitchen when DH's trying to prepare a meal - I refuse to take part in that stress!

Now you can put your feet up and start feeding you twins! How nice! I find that all I'm thinking of now is food, food, food. I can't stop eating and with no nausea either, I'm looking like a truck now.

Anyway, enjoy it and best wishes for every single day now until next April? I don't yet know my due date but I have another scan next Friday, 6th then the clinic hands me over to my GP & the NHS!

mao
Hi Maggie, I havent logged in for a while, but I am so pleased to see such good news- twins!! - wow - you must be over the moon!! What kind of eggs and how many didyou transfer??

I also have great news - I did transfer on 09/08 and guess what? - +ive tests from 10dpt until due date yesterday!! I can't believe it, but I am scared to get too excited, as I had a miscarraige at 6w3d before( before IVF). Although my first attempt at IVF was also successful and I have a beautiful little boy of nearly 3yrs I still remember how awful the miscarriage was,and I could not bear for that to happen again.

Maggie, did you have any symptoms before your scan that would have made you expect twins??

Is anyone else at 4w4d??

Kate
Thanks ladies. It's great to have so much support.

Hi Mao, good advice from your family. Do as little as possible, especially since we won't have a free second in around 7 months time. I'm the opposite of you. I'm almost force feeding myself sometimes. A lot of the time, the thought of food makes me feel queasy and some smells make me want to be sick. DH has arranged a couple of friends to come over for a bbq tonight and I've had to lock myself in the bedroom so that I can't smell the meat marinade because the smell has gone through the whole house. I don't know what I'm going to do when they arrive. The worst part is that they don't know our good news and won't find out until after our 12 week scan so I'm worried about how I'm going hide it.

Hi Kate, Congratulations!! I'm so pleased for you and your DH. You both must be so thrilled. I was like you, I didn't want to get too excited because I too had a m/c at around 7 weeks last year, before ivf, and I couldn't relax until I had the scan on Thursday. It was such a relief to see the heart beats. Actually we were over the moon to see two.

We had 2 embryos put back one 8 cell and one 7 cell. Both good quality with no fragmentation.

I've been thinking about possible signs that both might've stuck, so here are some ideas:
- My hcg blood test came back quite high. My hcg was 520 at 12 days after 3 day transfer. But I've heard of ladies that had a low hcg and ended up with twins or even triplets so you never know.
- I'm not sure if my implantation bleeding was a sign but I'll tell you anyway. I bled on day 7 of 2ww then spotted day 8, blood day 9 and spotting for the rest of the week. It may be that the bleed on day 9 (although it was lighter than day 7) was the second emby implanting.
- Other than that my morning sickness started early at about 5 1/2 weeks. But again, there are women with a singleton who are physically sick every day and others (like mao) with twins and no morning sickness.
So many possible signs but at the end of the day who knows.

When is your first scan Kate and how many did you have put back?

I think I'd better stop typing now because I'm sure I've filled the page.

Take it easy everyone.

Love Maggie.xx
Hi Maggie, my first scan will be on Friday 13th September - can you believe the date - lets hope that it will be lucky for me!!

I had 2 embryos transferred on day 3 - 6cell and 8cell. I was surprised that they were so good, as only 5 were retrieved and 3 fertilized.

I just can't wait until the scan to see a little heartbeat or two!!

Keep in touch and take care!!

Kate
Hi Ladies,

How are you all? It's been quiet here hasn't it.

Morning sickness seems to have been and is on its way out (for the time being), I don't know whether to be pleased or worried about it. People have told me that m/s would get worse, especially with twins, but its getting better. I don't know if that is a bad sign or not.

I am feeling more hungry every day and peeing a lot more, especially in the night, and having really wierd dreams all the time. Anyone else?

Kate, Friday 13th can definitely be lucky for some and I think it will be lucky for you too. I'll have everything crossed for you that day. It was definitely meant to be for you with 3 quality embryos out of 5 eggs. Thats another good sign.

Well ladies, I hope you are all well and taking it easy.

Have a lovely weekend.

Love Maggie.xx

Hi Maggie

Glad you are well and the sickness is getting better. Mine seems to be getting worse, although I haven't been sick yet thank god. I am hungry too and all of a sudden I have to eat as I feel completely empty. It happens at 5am etc so have taken to keeping crackers by the bed. I too have had the weirdest dreams, the other day I dreamt that there was going to be a tidal wave and I couldn't find dh, so was in a panic. I eventually found him swimming at the bottom of a swimming pool!! Glad I'm not the only one, I thought I was going mad. I'd love to know what that all means.
I get very bloated by the end of the day and look about 5 months but it's ok in the morning. I already find that my clothes are too tight by the evening. Nightmare as maternity clothes are so awful!

Are you back at work yet? I am but trying to take it easy.
Have a good weekend all

Elaine x
Hi Elaine,

I hope your morning sickness hasn't been too bad. I know what you mean about being hungry all of a sudden, I'm the same. I have to eat at least 5 times a day. A piece of fruit as a snack doesn't do the trick either, it fills the gap for about 10 mins and then I'm hungry again.

I'm glad I'm not the only one having all the wierd dreams, I wonder if its because we've got so much on our minds being pregnant or if it's a hormone or something. It would be interesting to find out why.

My clothes are starting to get tight now. I wore my favourite pair of jeans yesterday which are getting rather tight in the waist. Looks like I've only got a couple more weeks wear in them.

I'm back working full time but working from home. It worked out quite well because we had an urgent special project come up so I decided to take it on and said that it was best done from home because of too many interruptions when I'm at the office.

Well, I hope everyone is doing well. Keep us all updated.

Love Maggie.xx
