Post by Macca8 »

Hi all,

Don't know where the October ones have gone but I think we need to
put the dates together for everyone.

Can everyone due in October put their dates and any other relevant info on this topic and I will compile a list for us.

Hey Lisa and everyone else, I think a list is a great idea. My due date is Oct 8 and we're expecting a singleton - probably a little boy!!!

A question to you guys - do you all already know where you're giving birth? I know there's still time, lots, but not knowing is kind of freaking me out...

Thanks so much Lisa!

I'm due Oct 11 with twins. Don't know what they are yet though!

We know where we are giving birth but if you don't we do still have plenty of time. Good luck finding a place. I loved our hospital plus they have the best NICU in the state. There were more "Home" type setting but for me with twins I wanted everything the world had to offer near by just in case.

Thanks for making the list Lisa~

Hey October Ladies,

I will get this list sorted when I get back from holidays. I was in Ireland last weekend and we off to Majorca Spain, tomorrow for 7 days. So I have been really busy. I'm really looking forward to it.
I had my ante natal appt this week and everything was great. Twins heartbeats were strong, blood pressure normal and all the blood tests came back with excellent results. So at least I can relax and enjoy my holiday and not worry about them.

Catch you ladies up when I get back next Saturday 12th.

Keep well and look after all those lovely bumps.

Thanks so much Lisa~ I'm glad all is going so well for you. Sounds like you are getting to see some beautiful places as of late. How lovely to be able to get out and about before you are too big or they are actually here.
Dh is on a big camping trip in the dunes that I was suppose to be on until I read the weather report. I gracefully declined and sent him with the boys due to cold temperatures and rain. There is nothing worse than being trapped in your camp trailer for days while the winds howl and rain poors. So now it's a peaceful weekend of gardening for me!

Enjoy your trip and we will talk to you when you get back.

Thank you. I dont know what happen to all the Oct moms out there. Its been busy for all of us I know.

Due date for me is Oct 14th. Everything is moving along. Looks like we have a baby boy in the oven. If my OB was a betting man he would bet a boy. We go May 21st for the official results.

Take Care and thanks again for doing the list.

Kimberly

Hey Janine! Seems like I haven't chit chatted with t on of OCt. moms as of late. Where did they all go?? So nice to see your post.

The weekend has turned out to be too windy and cold to garden but oddly enough bending doesn't bother me yet. I know my days are numbered though. At my OB appoinment they show that I have only gained a total of 5 lbs. so far. Does anyone else with twins have about the same weight gain? He isn't concerned but after the work I put in to put on some weight the additional 4 lbs. wasn't what I was expecting. I thought it would be more like 10. Just curious and slightly concerned.

Finally, this Friday while walking into a art/furniture gallery where they were serving champaigne the gal looked right at me and said "I know you can't have any champaigne bc your pg but would like something else?" This is the first person who could tell I was PG! WHOOOHOOOOOO!!!!! It was pretty exciting to know I'm far enough along where you can actually tell now. It's the little milestones that matter! :D :D :D

Hope everyone is enjoying there weekend and all the little ones are growing big and healthy!

Take care~

Hi ladies,

My due date is October 27th. I think I finally gained 1 lb after 15 weeks - its been 2 days and they scale's been higher! I hope I keep it on - any time I thought I gained in the past, I lost it by the next day.

Otherwise, I feel pretty good besides occasional cramps, etc, but I've had them the whole time - nothing new. I've had some changes in my breasts lately - the opposite of everyone else - my nipples have gotten lighter and smaller. I'm thinking it might be from going off the prometrium. As usual, I'm a worrying mess so I'm calling the doctor first thing on Monday. I want a blood test.

We are expecting 80 degree weather this week - finally some warmth. I hope to get out and do a little gardening myself finally.

Hope everyone is doing great!

Hey Karen~ It's good to hear we are somewhat in the same boat. I'm a little over 17 weeks and finally have 5 lbs. Are you pg with a singleton? Sorry that I can't remember but I'm suffering from pregnancy brain! :? What does your OB say about such little weight gain? Mine says nothing except "Remember, our goal is to gain between 30 &45 lbs by the end so as long as they are well now we are ok." I create my own worries I guess.
Your nipple situation sounds like a reaction to me as well. I don't know anyone who took progesterone over 12 weeks so maybe it's form taking it so long and then going off it?? Let us know what he tells you on Monday. I'm sure it's nothing but then what would we worry about ?
Hope it's nothing.

Enjoy your nice weather and gardening. Take care~

Kimberly, thanks for the encouragement and you're so right - we still have time. I know where I'll be giving birth if we stay here (there's a good hospital with all the works just down the road) but if we move back to Europe I'll have to start reseaching from zero, starting with my OB. That is slightly unsettling, but I'm sure they'll be able to help us anywhere as long as I can find a doctor who speaks good English :D

I hope you don't worry too much about the weight gain thing - ypur twins are doing fine, and one of the nurses at my OB's office told me that very few women she sees gain the weight steadily - they start slowly and then all of a sudden make a huge jump upwards, or starts gaining right away but then slow down and still stay within healthy limits. So you gaining slowly now does not mean that you won't make a spurt later on... Also, the babies are fairly small at this point so most of the weight gain is not from them but increased blood volume etc related stuff, so the twin factor may become clearer once they get a tad bigger as you then gain the weight double. At least that's my reasoning.

Karen, it's a good thing you're contacting your doctor - it's so easy to worry yourself to death about things that may turn out quite harmless, so discussing your fears with a pro is always a great idea. Hopefully it turns out to be nothing and you don't have to worry any more!

DH and I had a fantastic week; we went to Texas Hill Country for a spa vacation. We stayed at this beautiful hacieda with only ten guestrooms and elk grazing on the premises, surrounded by the green hills. In the mornings DH played golf and I relaxed at the spa having mommy-to-be massages, facials etc. In the afternoon we'd chill in our room or by the pool. DH started reading to my tummy and it was just blissful. Now it's back to reality... trying to figure out our future and esp. if it's here or in Europe for the next two years. Crazy times :?

Hey Mommies!

Rae~ you are so sweet. What you wrote really makes sense and I know it's true. So thank you for your comforting words. I guess I'm just so worried about making sure that I'm doing everything I can to give them the healthiest start possible. Relaxing more would proabably do me more good than an additional pound or two. Thanks again.
Good luck with your future move. Sounds like you just have to wait it out and not worry about what you don't know yet. Your weekend at the spa sounds absolutley wonderful!!!! Dh reading to your tummy!!!! How sweet. What a great daddy he will be. I had to get that "Awwwww" look when I read that. Glad you are doing great and sound pretty stress free regardless. I'm taking pointers from you for sure! :D

Hope all is well with all the October babies! We're almost 1/2 way already. Can you guys believe it?? Seems like time is just flying by and before we know it we will all be holding our new babies and posting messages when we're up at 3 am!! Can't wait!!!!!

Take care everyone!

Hi, just a quick note:

Kimberly, , My cousin in pregnant with twins too. She was very slender when she started and as of almost 5 1/2 months, she's only gained 8lbs so you are not alone. I'm sure the weight will start kicking in soon. My doctor isn't concerned about my weight at this point. He says, as long as I'm eating a balanced diet and eating well, not to worry. I actually gained another lbs as of this morning on my scale, but at the dr's, it equated to 1.6 lbs :)

I did call the doctor - they couldn't have been nicer. They said it may have been a side effect of the progesterone but by no means do they think I have low progesterone of any concern. I got them to let me get a blood test anyway just to fully calm my fears - should know in 2-3 days. They said my uterus is the perfect size for 15 weeks and the heartbeat is good so not to worry. But if I do worry, i can come in everyday if I want.

I do feel a little more reassured now :) Sorry to run so quickly - I see everyone has so much going on. I'm keeping up by reading the posts.

Karen~ Your RE sounds sweet to let you come in everyday if your needed to. Sometime the poeple we surround ourselves with really make a difference in our lives. I'm glad that everything seems to be just as it should.

As far as my weight, by looking at me the last few days you would think I was doubling like a beta #!!!!! My stomach has really popped out there and it's just too much work to hold it back! I won't worry about weight anymore unless my Ob says so!

Take care~
