Symptoms After FET

Post by rikirees »

27 year old with 2 failed IVF's. Had 3 blasts transfered (with assisted hatching) on Friday 5/4. I just got off bedrest. I dont know how I should be feeling!!?? The next 10 days are going to be SO long. I have had some minor cramping but I think in all my research I can attritube it to the Progesterone. Is it WAY to early for signs that I am pregnant?

Way too early. There will be no pregnancy symptoms before your pregnancy test. Besides that, your embryos are only just now implanting. There's nothing going on except very locally and on a microscopic level. Once attached, they will send a signal of hCG to tell the corpus luteum to continue producing progesterone. But in an FET cycle there is no corpus luteum, and you are already on progesterone anyway, so the results of any signalling will produce no additional symptoms. In other words, you won't notice anything new if they attach.

You'll be tempted to use an HPT (to detect hCG in urine) before the pregnancy test. Odds are good that it would give a negative result, even if you are pregnant. That test is much less sensitive than the blood test, so trying the HPT before the blood test is usually a waste of time and money. Not always, but usually.

thanks ghost, I appreciate your response. I dont even have any HPT's and wasnt going to take one. I was just wondering if maybe the outside of my uterus might be getting hard or anything kinda like that. I think once I get bacm to work on Monday I will stop obsessing over it. But since I am home and it is all I have on my mind, it is hard to think of anything else. I just dont want to think about having to deal with more disaapiontment. This forum is great for all women who are going through all different stages IVF. I just wish I had found it earlier.

Hi Rikirees,

Ghost is right, embryos usually don't implant until 3-5 days after transfer. You're just 2 days after transfer so what you're feeling is the progesterone and estrace (if you're on that). I just got a positive beta 10 days after FET of 3 blast embryo I didn't feel anything and still don't. I go for my second beta test tomorrow to make sure the numbers are increasing.

So, definitely try to stay busy and relax. I know it's VERY HARD to do but just talk to us here to help time go by.

I received a BFP from FET on 5/2. Actual pregnancy sxs are hard to detect for me b/c of the progesterone and estrace. However, this was my 2nd BFP in 3 months as I had one w/our 1st fresh cycle that ended in a m/c. Both times I have noticed twinges/fluttering/slight pinching in my stomach. The only reason I really knew it was anything is b/c I had it this time and then recalled it from the 1st bfp so I assume it's a sign. I also have had a really strong desire for bland foods and lots of liquids. HTH and good luck!
