IUI

Had my first IUI with stimulation Gonal F. Inseminated on Sunday, can anyone tell me what they felt, if they even felt anything, the first week after IUI? I feel crampy. Not bad cramps just twinges. Anyone feel the same?

Hi Henrietta,
Thats great news you have had your first IUI - im sorry i can't offer any advice as i have my first one in 2 weeks today! Im also going all natural (no drugs) so not sure what to expect.

Hopefully Gargy will see this and offer you some advice - check our other posts on here - the ones about IUI and im sure you will get some info there.

Hi Henrietta,

No, can't say I had those symptoms - but my boobs swelled up and I did 'feel' different - but as I said on a different post this could have been the drugs I was on.

If you're not sure I'd be ringing one of the nurses just to get some reassurance.

Hi Polly, don't you have to have an ultrasound even with a natural cycle? That is good if you don't.

Things must be very laid back here in Little ole New Zealand - no u/s with a natural cycle just loads of blood tests. As my cycle seems to be so text book i guess they are happy with bloods and have been able to give the U/s a miss - will be another story no doubt if we don't conceive in the next 3 months and have to have drugs...............personally at the moment its already costing hundreds going into thousands that with U/S and drugs its going to be so must more im hoping for a quick result with a natural cycle to keep the cost down as well as the dissapointment of BFN results.
But at the end of the day it costs what it costs and at this point i will pour all our money into having a baby - it is at the top of my list (hubby just got a new boat!) and will borrow if it comes to that. anyway im way of the subject now............

I got my period last night and will go for my first ultrasound on Wednesday. We are lucky, they are all paid for by our health insurance (which we pay for anyway). We will have to pay for IUI but all bloodwork and ultrasounds are already covered.

Oh, I am so happy for you. So you are going to continue with IUI on the 21st or 22nd? I know you had some concerns with your Chinese doctor. Hope all is well now. If that was me, I am so impatient I would not wait. That is just me though. You will know what is best for you and we will all support you on that. Good luck and lots of baby dust your way.
