I have just felt baby start to move and its amazing....I had my 20 week scan and they couldnt check the heart properly....which of course worried me ridiculously....even though the ultrasonographer told me it was only because of baby's position....but I had a repeat scan on Tuesday and it was all fine thank goodness!!!! HI JILLY

IT IS GREAT TO READ YOUR GOOD NEWS.

I have been reading every message on this website for the last week as I am currently on my 1st attempt at IVF due to having blocked tubes.

Upon reading some messages I start to feel that IVF treatment is going to be a waste of time as some woman are on their 6th try.

I am trying to keep positive, thinking that it may help but only GOD knows if it will.

How many attempts have you had on IVF before falling preg and what were the reason for you having IVF (please don't feel that you have to answer my questions).

Look forwarding to hearing from you

LOVE DEBSx

Hi Deborah, You are more than welcome to post messages and questions on this 'side', I know I certainly did before my wish actually came true - hoping for some little bits of info that might improve my chances. I got pregnant on our second icsi attempt, I had tried not to get my hopes up about the first 'go', but it was impossible and I really was secretly convinced it had worked, unfortunately it didn't, but after 7yrs of 'hoping' every month, we quickly bounced back and were keen to try again. Luckily for us it worked and we are 18wks now, due 11th march. I found this 'side' very helpful in just giving me hope that it could work. I'm not sure how many times we would of tried and I just think you need to concentrate on each treatment at a time. Just make sure you and your partner communicate and don't stop living. Some girls it works for first time, others, it takes five or six or more and some decide that their lives will have to take a different path altogether. Just do everything you can to make sure you don't blame yourself or anyone else if it doesn't work first time ie live healthily, don't drink, don't smoke etc I'm personally convinced that drinking 3litres water a day was the thing that worked for me - not sure that some of the other things contributed or not ie not taking baths - only showers and not spraying water on my belly, dancing naked in the garden covered in manure at the full moon (didn't actually do that one but probably would of done on the 3rd go!) not drinking diet drinks, not standing near electrical equipment etc etc but you'll try anything. Good luck. love wendy xxx

HI Debs

Sorry for the delay in answering! Havent checked in for a while!!

Well...first of all...really good luck for your first IVF!! I know you will be having all sorts of feelings....try and stay positive...

My story is probably not quite what you are looking for...as I never actually had to go through IVF...I started it...and found out I had fallen pg through some miracle before the real treatment had begun...but I met a lot of people and got a lot of support on here...

I had been on clomid and injects...and follicle tracking for many months trying to get pg....I have a blocked tube and do not ovulate due to PCOS...but the month I stopped all my drugs, they had a knock on effect the following month which is when I fell pg!

I was referred by my gynae for IVF after a long time...and was very scared and unsure...so I guess I have an idea of how you feel now...just remember that IVF is very successful in blocked tube patients (according to my IVF doctor) I think you have a really good attitude though! Stay positive...and yeh....lots of prayers!! Its not a waste of time at all...yes...some people unfortunately for some reason are put through a lot...and have many let downs...but it is very successful in others! I wish you loads of luck!

Love Jilly xoxoxoxo
