Hi Ladies....

So glad to hear everyone is doing so well and the m/s has subsided! That gives me hope that the end is in sight for me.

I've had a rough week, m/s continues, although it's really e/s. OB called to tell me I have a UTI so I'm on antibiotics. Went for my allergy shot, allergist told me my lung function is low so he put me on an inhaler 2xa day. Scared the **it out of me telling me that if I'm not getting enough oxygen either are the babies. UGH. My allergies seem to be so much worse with pregnancy. Anyone else? And then to top of my week, I started staining and having bad cramps on Thursday night. Went to the dr. yesterday, sono looked perfect thank god, needed a shot of Rhogan, because I'm RH negative factor and my blood cannot mix with the babies at this point and am on bedrest this weekend.

The great news for this week is that my nuchol fold scan results were fine.

hugs,

Ange,
I only got the shot in my previous pregnancy after I gave birth, at least that is all I remember. Do I need one during pregnancy as well? I cannot remember. I am Rh- also.

As far as the allergies. Mine have been terrible since I got pregnant. So you are not the only one on that.

Thanks

Hi Tammy,

My dr. told me that if there are any bleeding episodes during the pregnancy, I would need the shot. He also said that if there weren't any, I would get a shot after the amnio, at 27 weeks and after the birth. Hope that helps.

So aside from these awful allergies, how are you feeling?

headaches

Post by MommyTfive »

I have had terrible headaches the past two days. I am still really tired. Not as bad as a few weeks ago. It is getting a little better. Other than that my symptoms aren't bad. I have to start slow in the mornings. If not I get light headed and a little ill. If I take it slow it isn't too bad.

Thanks for the info.

Good Morning Ladies,
Hope all is well. Sorry some of you are suffering from allergies and headaches. I am to. :-( My doctor told me that it was safe to take bendryl and zertec. I've only taken the Zertec. Benedryl makes me to sleepy and I dont need to be anymore sleepy than what I am. :-(

Morning sickness is gone and I am so happy but also sad. I dont feel pregnant anymore. lol I know it's weird that I complained about it so much and now that it's gone, I miss it. I guess I just felt more pregnant when i was sick. Now I feel perfectly fine. I'm getting my energy back. I can eat. I feel the way I was before I was pregnant. Kind of scares me. :-( But also happy that I'm having a wonderful pregnancy. :-)

Heard the babies heartbeats for the first time last Friday. It was so wonderful to hear. It sounded like galloping horses. lol The rates were 164 and 175. That is pretty close. Wonder if they are the same sex. I can't wait to find out. Is anyone as anxious about meeting their little one(s) as I am. I know I need to be patient and enjoy this time but I can't wait to meet my babies. Everyone keeps telling me to enjoy the time I have now because once they get here it's a whole other story. lol

For those of you having twins I was wondering if you had any recommendations for books on Twins. I read on a website about the book: TWINS, but I can't remember the author. Also there was When you are expecting twins, triplets or quads by Dr. Barbara Luke and Twinspiration: Real-Life Advice From Pregnancy Through the First Year (for Parents of Twins and Multiples) by Cheryl Lage. Has anyone heard of these or others?

Wow it is great to see everyone doing so good, I think it is funny that we are all basically going through the same things yet we all feel left out in the world. It is nice to know that I am not crazy LOl I too am having sinuses and headaches. My naseau has gotten worse since 12 week supposed to get better, I get it every morning and any time i get the least bit hungry. not just horrible but enough to make me feel crappy. I guess pay back for not having it early on. Feeling stretching and pulling alot now, I can feel uterus, and I have been feeling flutters occasionally, I know they say your not supposed to yet but I know that it is the baby jsut by where it is and how it feels, almost like a bumble bee buzzing for a second, makes me giggle, which gets me weird looks. I can't wait to be able to feel it with my hand and to let my step son feel it too, he is so excited about a new baby he is 8.
I have heard that a high heartrate is a sign of a girl baby, so those of you with the high rates might be getting ready for pink.
To take the old wives tale quiz... just search "old wives tale gender predictor" and it will come up.
Ok I guess that is all for now I will check back in later and see how everythings going. Only 16 more days til next appointment can't hardly wait to see if boy or girl.
I am thinking of you all and good luck!!!!

You are so lucky to be finding out the sex so soon. I am so impatient I cant wait to know and in england we dont find out until the anatomy scan at 20 weeks which is 9 weeks away!!!

I have entered a competition on a TV show that were advertising to find out the sex of your baby early with this new DNA blood test so fingers crossed they choose us. I really do think it will be a boy. I have been reading up on the internet and apparently more boys are born as a result of IVF treatment than girls because apparently boys grow more quickly and easily in a culture dish. I still have that feeling that it will be a boy though. All I can think of is buying him some cute little combats. He will be just like his dad!

Well just though I would make a quick post
CAT Oh how cool that they would do a show like that, I really hope you get to do it I would love to hear about it. GOOD LUCK!!!
I had a scare yesterday had to go to OB I was having light contractions, not bleeding thank goodness but it was painful. I am now on light activity and NO SEX til baby is born.
I dont know that is gonna matter or not because it was DH fault to begin with. Men can truly be such asses, they have no idea what stress and upsetting a pregnant woman can do to a baby. I have left him for now again and I am going to talk to him tonight about the scare and he is going to have a choice of either straightening up and realizing how precious this is or I am gone for good. And I mean for good cause if I have to really leave the only place I have to go is 600 miles away.
So maybe he will do right, I am doing my best to not worry, but when a relationship starts to go to hell after 4 yrs and now a baby on the way,it is hard to start over. I am looking at this scare as a warning for me to get a hold on things now and stop dealing with the bullshit. this baby is my No.1 right now and for now on, so DH is gonna have to buck up or ship out!!!!

Ok any way I did get to hear heartbeat yesterday it was 161 bpm which is great the baby was doing a headstand literally, was upside down very funny I took sono tape and put on bigscreen and paused and I swear I see a little taco!!! I was thinking after I saw sono yesterday i am starting to feel GIRL, I haven't felt anything so far, they say you have a higher chance of feeling what you are gonna have. I stiil have my appointment in two weeks so hopefully will know for sure then. Oh I cannot wait.
Ok I will talk to you girls later

HI Ladies! Where is everyone? Hope everyone and their baby bellies are doing just fine.

Mominwaiting-I'm sorry you have to go through the bullsh@t with your mate. That really sucks. Especially at suck an important time in your life...and his. But you are right. THis baby is most important. Dont let him get to you or stress you out. And if you need time to yourself, then by all means, leave his ass. I bet he would straighten up then! Hope things get better for you.

Hello to everyone else. I'm going to go research the old wives tale gender prediction tests right now. :P

Hi Ladies,

Sorry I've been MIA. Just spent a week in the hospital. Had a huge scare last Monday. I woke up early am hemorraging, passing enormous clots. DH rushed me to the hospital, initial sonogram, babies looked fine thank god, but bleeding wouldn't stop. They were talking about giving me a transfusion as well as an antidote for the blood thinner I'm on. I was finally admitted and brought to a room at 8pm. Spent the next 5 days on complete bedrest there and am now home on bedrest for at least 3 weeks.I do have bathroom and shower privileges thankfully! I see the high risk specialist tomorrow afternoon and his plan is to check the placentas and my cervix. The initial theory is that a piece of the placenta (a piece that is no longer needed) broke off and burst a blood vessel. This could've been a result of all the throwing up I've been doing over the last 2 weeks. In any event the 2 sono's at the hospital showed active babies with great heartrates. I don't think I've ever been so scared in my life. So scared for the babies, that I didn't even realize how much danger I was in. Well, we are all home now, minimal staining, stuck in bed and on short term disability from work. I've lost 15lbs since finding out I was pregnant, but babies are growing and are appropriate sizes. Who knew I needed to get pregnant to lose weight! Although 15lbs less, you'd never know by looking at my belly!

I need to catch up on the thread and will post personals as soon as I do.

hugs to all!

I just have a quick question. I am almost 14 weeks. Has anyone else been having period like cramps this far along? I had them before, and I know it is normal, but I am not sure if anyone else has had them this far along? The dr said it is normal, But I am just curious.

Ange--Wow, that would have scared the crap out of me! Glad to hear that you and the babies are doing okay. Take it easy and take care of yourself. Glad to hear that you have proper care and all you guys are doing fine now.

Jenhope--I'm 13 weeks and I'm having the same cramps. Not all the time but off and on. I went to the doctor last week when I first started to experience them. He checked my cervix and the babies and he said everything was fine. I wouldn't worry as long as you're not spotting. Or if the pain is unbearable I would call your doctor. Also, here is an article I just read that made me feel so much better. How is helps. :-)

Week 14: Aches and Pains and Cramps -- Oh My!

Great news! You're starting your second trimester — (almost) every pregnant woman's favorite…and for good reason. With many first trimester pregnancy woes waning, chances are good that you're starting to feel a little peppier and a lot more human. You may also be starting to show (if you haven't already started), which means (a) it may be time to start hitting those maternity boutiques, and (b) you may actually finally look pregnant — not just like you've eaten too much for lunch. That's because your uterus is finally rising out of the pelvic region and into your lower abdomen. You might even be able to feel the top of your uterus (the fundus) if you press down right above your pelvic bone in your lower abdomen. How cool is that!

For some women, one side effect of all this uterine growth is what amounts to pregnancy growing pains (known in the obstetrical business as "round ligament pain") — felt as achy or sharp pains on one or both sides of the abdomen. Here's why these pains in the abdomen happen: The uterus is supported by thick bands of ligaments that run from the groin up the side of the abdomen (like the lines of that high-cut bikini bottom you've probably had to pack away by now). As your uterus grows, the supporting ligaments stretch and thin out to accommodate the increasing weight. This weight pulls on the ligaments and causes a sharp pain or a dull ache in your lower abdomen. The pain is often more noticeable when you change positions suddenly or get up from sitting or lying down, or when you cough. Kicking up your feet (though not literally) and resting in a comfortable position usually brings relief.

wannababyIVF-thanks, that is helpful. I am glad it isn't just me. I don't know why I should worry, I made it past 12 weeks, which is the most critical. I need to relax. Thanks again.

Jenhope--I actually started a post about it the cramping this morning. I'm starting to feel it more. :-( DH is driving me nuts about calling the OBGYN. He's making me more worried than I should be. :-( I really don’t want to call the OBGYN because I "think" it's normal. But I wanted the opinions of others. But like you, I thought it would stop by now. :-( But with you being 14 weeks and me only 13, I guess I have more to look forward to. I pray it's normal.

Question: Does yours feel like AF cramps? Sometimes mine do and sometimes they feel like I have to...(sorry TMI)...but sometimes I feel like I have to move my bowels. :-(

Does anyone else feel the cramping?
