normal levels for IVF

Post by Cori »

Hi everyone!
I am on my 1st round of IVF and sarted my stim meds today. I also found out my blood test numbers (day 3 ). My FSH is 4.9 and my estradiol is 29. Are these good numbers. My nurse at the clinic says yes but my estradiol levels in the past have been 71 and 110. Is it so low this time because of the Lupron injections suppressing my system?

Those are good numbers, for both of you.

When FSH climbs above about 9 or so, then the quality and quantity of oocytes (eggs) decreases. So IVF success rates start declining at about that point. This increase in FSH comes naturally with age, as your body compensates for diminishing reponse from the ovaries. So by looking at your FSH level, they can tell your "reproductive age".
