Looks like I have almost everything what a woman doesn't want. I had severe endometriosis, ovarian cysts and adenomyosis too. Adenomyosis causes the uterus to enlarge. RE says it does affect the chances of IVF to a certain extent but he did not elaborate further.
I just had my last Zoladex injection and will be on IVF program once I get my first menstruation. Wondering if anyone out there has been successful even with adenomyosis? Or any precautions I should take or ask?
A good friend of mine just had a failed IVF. It somehow affects my confidence level.....
I just did an IVF cycle with a positive result, actually today is my first scan, so i am very excited to know whats going on.
I have both adenomyosis and endo and this was my second try of IVF and it worked. so i would say you have a lot to be confident about. Just think positive.
Hi Bali,
Firstly congrats on your pregnancy and thank you for sharing your experience. At least now I know it's possible. Let me know your scan result!
Was there any reason why the first attempt not successful?
There was no known explaination why the first IVF did not work, my doctor told me sometimes it take more than one cycle for it to work and as you can see in this forum most prople did it several times.
My scan did not go as i hoped i am very worried, first the doctor could not see anything and when he did see what looked like a egg sac, he said its not in the place where he was expecting it. I am waiting from the blood test result, if the HCG level is rising then i go back on Tuesday 14th for another scan, if not he will send me to a radiologist to see whats going on, i am so frustrated, i feel like i am on a roller coster that does not stop.
I wish you success with your cycle and hope you get that BFP.
Hi Bali,
Don't worry. My prayers will always be with you. Hope everything turns out well with the test result and the baby.
I'm off to see the RE this weekend to discuss about the program. I'll find out more him then.
Thanks much for sharing.
