HCG Levels

Post by SayWhatDoc »

My wife and I just found out she is pregnant. Very fortunate as it was our first IVF try. What I would like to know now is, what are the normal levels for HCG? She had a 114 today, which is 14 days after retrieval and she had a day 5 transfer.

Where does 114 stand? High? Low? Average? And where would it be if it happened to be twins?

Thanks.

Hi,

HCG is a tricky thing because everyone's is different. What matters most is that it doubles every 48-72 hours. That means the pregnancy is progressing. A number over 100 is definetly good. I have seen people with hcg's of 300 that ended up with twins and some that don't. A high number might mean you will have twins and if it more than doubles it might mean you will have twins, but you just don't know until you do an ultra sound and see the gestational sacs. Anyway, congrats I hope that helps!

My beta 14 dpt was 157, tested again 48 hours later and it was 989 and so we pretty much knew it was twins, the ultrasound confirmed it.

2/24 ICSI twins due 11/17
