Anyone test positive and waiting for first ultrasound?

I tested positive Monday and would love to talk with someone going through same thing...I had two blood works and am now waiting for the ultrasound nextweek. Is that where they hear the heart?

A gestational sac can usually be seen at about 5 weeks gestation.

Heartbeats typically are seen around 6 weeks.

Most positive pregnancy tests are at about 4 weeks gestation already (gestational age is measured from last menstrual period). So if your U/S is 1-2 weeks after the pregnancy test, then there's a good chance they will see the sac, but the heartbeat will not be detectable yet. 2 weeks or more after the test, and they will have a good chance of seeing the heartbeat.

Of course it varies a lot. Some heartbeats show up around 5.5 weeks, and others are not seen until almost week 7.

Even if they can't see heartbeats at week 5, they can still see how many sacs there are and confirm the pregnancy is in the uterus.

i am at the same level like you...
i also had two blood tests and on monday 5/14, i am scheduled for ultrasound. end of this week i will be completing 5 weeks. I completely agree with ans given by ghost.. By 5th week they can tell how many sacs are there, and heartbeat is usually seen during next ultrasound visit which is around 6 week. and then you are discharged from your RE. and you follow up with your ob/gyn.
When are you scheduled for ultrasound. how much was your blood count during your previous 2 blood level tests?
