Hi everyone, I am sorry that I haven't posted for a while, but the last week has been a bit of a rollercoaster. I went for my 7 1/2week scan on Friday 13th, and I got the shock of my life!!

First they saw two sacs and I thought great!! Then when they looked closer there was one heartbeat in one sac and two heartbeats in the other.

Don't get me wrong - I would love three little people running about, but as 2 of the babies are identical twins there are alot of risks associated with this pregnancy. I am now 9 weeks and I go for another checkup on Thursday - I am getting very anxious!!

Hope you are all keeping well!!

Kate

Hi Sandra,

Thanks for asking after me. Don't apologise for crashing my messages over this side, you're always welcome here. I'm doing ok at the moment. I'm still on bedrest as the spotting hasn't stopped but I will do whatever it takes to hold these two babies in my arms in 6 months time, even if I had to sit in a bath of baked beans every day for an hour I'd do it.

My pregnancy was pretty uneventful until last week. All my symptoms were there but quite minor like I felt queasy and went off food but wasn't physically sick and sore boobs which grew a little but nothing major. I decided to book a piece-of-mind scan to make sure our little ones were ok. The scan was booked for Tuesday last week and I couldn't believe it when I went to the loo just before we left to go for the scan and there was blood. I was so upset. I phoned the ivf clinic and they suggested that I still go for the scan to see how everything is. Well, everything looked good, our babies were the right size for 10.5 weeks and one was kicking and moving about a lot while the other was sleeping. I was so pleased everything looked ok but bled again on wednesday night. After that my ivf clinic increased my progesterone pessaries and put me on bedrest until the spotting stops completely. I thought it would've stopped by now but it hasn't so I'm still in bed.

I have my 12 week scan next week and can't wait. Hopefully everything will look good and I can go back to normal duties.

How is everything with you? All good I hope.

Take care and keep in touch.

Love maggie.xx

Kate,

All I can say is OH MY GOD! That is amazing.

How are you feeling other than anxious? Any major symptoms? That is so unbelievable. I'm still in shock.

I'm keeping everything crossed for you on Thursday. Let us know how it all goes.

Sorry, I can't say much else, I'm just speechless. I started typing sandra's message and got side-tracked by a phone call from a friend in australia and saw your message after I posted Sandra's.

I am so pleased for you. Wishing you all of the luck in the world. Take good care of yourself now.

Love maggie.xx

Hello Maggie and to you all and your bumps!

I haven't posted for a while as I have been very bad with morning sickness "yuck". But it has now taken a turn for the better thankfully.

I am very releived I am now in my 9th week and all is well, I had a scan at 7 weeks and all was ok (I didn't get that far last time) even though I was still bleeding they could see where it was coming from and it was nowhere near the baby, luckily it stopped the day after and since then I have had my head down the loo day and night!

Kate I have just read your posting I bet you thought they where playing a trick on you it being friday the 13th, it's fantastic news there are others on the site who are having triplets and are doing fine so stay positive.

I have also got a scan this week on friday the 27th I am still paranoid about things going wronge again, but the doctors are watching me so closely this time I am hopeful. I must admit I can actually say I can't wait to get back to work I have been off since the 12th August and am signed off untill the 4th November (when I will be 14 weeks) and I am sure my brain is pickling now with all the rubbish I have been watching on the TV.

I have been having lots of twinges this week and soreness and around my ovaries, is anyone else getting these?

By the way I have found a great cure for morning sickness, fizzy water, wine gums, strawberries and chocolate chip muffins, well it has worked for me I may still feel sick all day but I haven't actually been sick since Sunday.

Anyway must go now.

Keep in touch

Sandra E xxx

Hi Maggie

I haven't been on for ages. So sorry to hear that you've been spotting. You must be worried sick. I hope everything is ok now and you are feeling better. You will feel better after your scan next week hopefully.
Well I hit 12 weeks today so very pleased. Have a scan on Thursday so fingers crossed everything is ok. I have been feeling really sick lately and actually started being sick last week. So much for it getting better at 12 weeks, no such luck, I seem to be getting worse. Just hope it stops when I stop these damm pessaries. They are getting on my nerves now but I know they're for the best. I also have a teriible cold so feel pretty awful at the moment. Can't complain though I'm so pleased to be pregnant I'll take anything that gets thrown my way!!
Take care for the next couple of weeks and good luck.

Love Elaine

Hi Ladies,

I hope everything is well with everyone. Elaine and Kate, How did your scans go last week? And I hope your sickness is getting better Sandra and Elaine.

I've had a very eventful week. On Sunday Afternoon, after a visit to the out of hours GP I found out I had a urine infection and when I got home started bleeding again but it was a very heavy bleed this time. It really scared me and I was worried sick. The bleeding settled down overnight and throughout monday and went for my nuchal scan and ob appt on Tuesday. It was a relief to see that both babies are doing well, growing nicely with 2 arms, 2 legs and 2 hemispheres of a brain each and we even saw the heart beating like an organ this time instead of a flicker.

Well, Take care everyone and I look forward to your updates.

Have a lovely weekend.

Love Maggie.xx

Hi everyone!! I hope you are all doing well!! I am sorry that I have not posted for a while but I have been extremely sick.

The sickness is now starting to ease, but as I am now aneamic, I have been put on iron tablets which are now also making me feel a bit sick.

I had a scan last Thursday and everything seems fine. The three of them are all the same size and are looking really great. Also a membrane has now shown up between the identical twins which reduces the risks a lot. I have also been told that I may have to go into hospital to lie from about 28 weeks, and they do not expect me to go any further that 34 weeks. As long as the babies are all okay I will do anything.

Let me know how you are all doing.

Kate
13 weeks - Triplets ( identical twins from one egg and a singleton from the other egg).

Hi Kate,

I'm so pleased that everything is going well for you and your babies. It must be such a relief for you and your DH knowing that the risks have been reduced with the membrane between your identical twins. Are you going to find out the sexes or leave it as a surprise?

Isn't it great when the sick feeling starts to ease. Although I don't feel 100% all of the time I feel loads better than I did in the first part of the pregnancy which feels great.

You must be showing quite a bit now, especially with 3. Are you in maternity clothes yet? I am surprised how fast my belly is growing. I'm sure people look at me and think I'm about 6 months pg. I don't mind though, I love looking pregnant.

I hope everyone else is doing well, keep us updated.

Love maggie.xx
17weeks
